^ turtle beach px5 gaming headset .when I asked on twitter they said its in customs office .but they haven't updated the shipment details till now in my S&S acc :-( .

What the difference between this and Shopabroadonline? Why do we have to pay for registration in this while its free in Shopabroadonline? And If i import anything without any of these sites then how would i pay for custom duty? Would i have to pay while receiving it at my door or do i have to go personally at some custom office

Rates have been revised for sure, however they don't mention a landing fee of 21% which is charged by the customs department in addition to the above the rates..

If you are referring to the 35k rule, it's only applicable when you bring the goods in person from abroad

one of my customer`s sister sent a iphone from USA through courier services,

she didnt pay any customs.


u can try this method, but be warn if the item is caught in customs and appear to be brand new without bill, theres a certain penalty on that/

^Importing used mobiles is banned in India...Hefty fine if the phone is used. My friend had to pay almost 4k for an iphone 4.

I am confused here... The new charge sheet says DVDs/CDs are assessed at 28% and Entertainment sports equipment such as Video games assessed at 16%... How much is it for the PS3/PC games??

I thought so too but I read somewhere that there's certain amount below which even if you get stuff shipped it won't attract customs. A little confused on the amount though, maybe 10K INR?

No, i think every import regardless of value 'should' get charged, there is no limit per se, not sure about it. As you already know it all depends on luck, back in college days when i used to import stuff, i used to get charged randomly some smaller but expensive items used to go scot free , but in comparison cheaper but larger items were charged duties some times.
Edit: dont know if i've mentioned it before, but Aramex courier services within India are FUBAR, it took them 1 whole week to send a parcel from Delhi to Mumbai

that is still good. They took 1 whole week to deliver my ps3 just 30KM from their warehouse in delhi.

Mail them the item link, or fill the form at their Site... They give you final quote including shipping customs etc.. But yes only for US items

You can send them a email also.. If they don't get back.. Just give them a ring and ask them.. Sometimes they are slow to respond.. But once order etc is placed, it's fast.. Well never had a bad experience with them till now
Shopyourworld was good but once I had refund and they delayed it for more then a month.. And I got the money back after much trouble... So never used them after that.. Still your wish
One more Site is there 20th north. But again I had some bad experiences with them.,. Like shipment delayed for a month etc.. So never used them after that
Many people use both these two sites and get things .. But I gave you my opinion.. Upto you to decide which one of the three

Dude why dont you try out your local grey market? At 27% duty comes out to be at least 54 usd not including shipping. Add atleast another 20-30 usd for shipping. Basically you are paying a minimum of 74-84usd extra. I bet for 2-3k extra you could buy it in the grey itself thereby avoiding shipping hassles.

The site is working again now. If not aramex then I would second that recommendation. Most other importers have questionable reliability.

I don't have a personal credit card, I have an ICICI Debit card which I use for all local/national banking purposes.
I have my dad's MasterCard CC, which I can use, but don't know much about (since I never use CCs).

I want to make an online purchase using the CC, (since there's no way I can use the Debit card) to buy something, and have it sent to a friends place in the US, who will be bringing it over.
However if I put in his shipping details, my CC can't be used.
If I use Paypal through CC , shipping address cannot be changed to his, rather I only get options of adding new shipping addresses in India.
If I choose purely online transaction using the CC, again I don't have an option of sending it to him, rather it comes directly to billing address, which is back home.

Can anyone help me with a fix to this problem?

Many sites gives you the option of having separate shipping and billing address. If it did not, then people won't be able to use aramex also . amazon is one such Site, plus many others.
Only few sites have the restriction that the billing and shipping address should be same. If the product you are ordering from a particular Site, and it does not allow you... Try to find the same product at some other Site which let's you have this different address

It was actually a custom order, not something that I could get from another site.

However I did manage to get it.

I just caught them on live chat and discussed the issue, so they said they would forward me a custom invoice. I paid that using my Paypal Indian account and using the MasterCard CC and they didn't charge shipping and are forwarding it to my friend in the US. Worked out pretty well.
