I have been asked to post impressions ....and i am sure many would like to hear abt this New official Headset.
I am not very good in writing but i will Post whatever i feel about this New Headset with best of my knowledge.
Unfortunately I have not even been able to do a thorough research on one of its main thing-Sound quality in Games ....because of Lode shedding..but for Now i still have tried to cover everything with exactly what i think.

Packaging- Brief take on this... It is very ordinary .......thanks to amazon's nice packaging it came safely to my place or i am sure it would have not withstand even minimum rough handling specially once it arrived in India.
Would rate- 5/10.
Comfort- Pretty comfortable on head. I would say it does not feel like you wearing something heavy on your head.Just about okay to deal with it . Now ear cups as they advertisement say is breathable and all....no it is not imho. I felt the need to get some air at times. infact i dont imagine i can wear it continuosly coz of that for too long say abt more than 30-40 mins . I do feel the need of air at times.
Would rate Overall Comfort- 7/10.
Built-Decent.Finishing and all feels excellent. Like yeah you have a nice expensive headset.but its ability to withstand falls or even minor rough handling seems it will not be able to take it. kinda flimsy ear cups...it does not feel like it is well reinforced with the full headset ...rather feels just attached to it from outside and regular use will definitely loosen it up easily. Even if you are careful .Mic also is very flimsy ... rather let it stay inside only.Infact you wont even need it to extend( check the reason in the microphone part) . I would say You just have to be bit careful all the time with this headset....not like you can take it easy but having said that it is also not like by just touching you will break it....naha...it just makes sure you always taking care of it. Any small negligence also and you may regret.

Microphone-you know the best part of the headphone is its microphone's ability. I tried quite a bit of chatting on it-skype and even on ps3 system settings. While i was playing with microphone and it was even capturing whispers that i was making very clearly i noticed one amaizng thing.....my mum was watching some serial in other room. the volume was also abt slightly below normal infact without headphone i was not hearing it clearly but this microphone was capturing that sound also damn nicealy...i got stunned for a min as to where this saash bahu type serial voice is coming from...i even looked around before noticing and i really must say. this was very impressive.

Overall features(price,Wireless connectivity)- Wireless connectivity is pretty good. Commendable I would say I tried roaming around in my house...even went inside bathroom with doors closed and it was still catching clearly every sound.But there was two-three times also that sound got cut for few seconds that was nothing big though. it came back after few seconds but when it kinda senses it is not gonna be reachable it does give disturbance sound . I would say Wireless is pretty good . dont think anyone will any problem within their house(2-3 bedroom one) ...dont know abt bungalow with 2-3 floors
.....Price....well i got it through sns for abt $100 and in usa also MRP is $99.for its price it feels rich only. You get amazing microphone ,good wireless option for your ps3. I have in the past looked for headphones and have come across many btu they all never came with so much features packed in one without being damn pricey.Would rate overall feature- 8/10
Sound Quality- Most important part of the Headphone and one i purposely choose to post it last... reason being i feel I need more time with in game sound to come to conclusion if it really does the job of surround sound or not. But it is not like i dont have any thoughts on this now.
I will divide this part into Stereo and Virtual Surround Sound(In game sounds):-
a)- Stereo- Pretty okay. Nothing extraordinary. It is loud It is clear.thats the way i would like to put it. It is not like it tries to do anything to make those music and movies you hear any special unlike other headphones .Just does it job of giving you nice clear sound .Dont even compare with Audiphile heaphones it just does not stand a chance...I have heard bit of sennheiser and man i still remember the sound coming from it ...and i heard them just for 5-10 mins...this i will forget it the moment i remove it from my head.
Overall Stereo Sound- 5/10
B ) Virtual Surround Sound - Some years ago i had met people from xbox india for Evangelist programme....and they asked me what is the first thing you look for in the video game. I said Sound....then comes story gameplay for me. The video game sound has reached whole new level of immersiveness now.When i was thinking of going for headset or wii and noctis was one of the person that was suggesting me...he told me need for HD sound setup is as necessary as need for hd tv for hd games.So reason why we all looking for this headphone is i am sure for ingame amazing surround sound effects it promises.the first thing that i tried with this headphone was MGS4.....i just wanted to see how it sounds in virtual 7.1 ...what was i missing of this epic game....truth to be told i found it okay to damn good at times....i felt it is something i wont feel immersive right from the start only...it took me some time you know but i was noticing gun shots from far to near...when some structures were blown and the debresis were falling i could feel like some mud stuff is falling ....i could not go much far with it coz of repeated lode shedding etc.....i feel i need more time with it too see if it is really superb....but till now i would say yeah it is worth giving it more time to prove it self....since it is software alogrithims that makes these virtual surround sound work....i feel games may sound different from each other...some may sound better than others coz may be software calculating that game better than others to produce more surround sound effects....so will update on this asap.
Update:-Tried some more games and MGS4 i played different locations...i noticed int he south america part in the open jungle it was really sounding nice. you could hear bird sounds...gun shots from far and wide....i then tried battle with laughing octopus i did not felt anything great there....then again i tried battle with cryingwolf and once i could hear nice details soldier step and when crying wolf is running around....breaking trees and all....
then i tried borneo jungle uncharted 2....pretty good there....when soldiers near were firing i could feel it bit louder and also i could hear recoils of kinda force my gun....cutsenes were nice too but it was not as good as in game open environments.
last i tried flower-purple flower mission...this was really a great enjoyment for me ...i could hear loud lightnings and rains shower and electricity line making that static sound...
I feel this is better with open environments than closed ones....and it does sound nice overall.
Conclusion- I have not had much use with this honestly...i could have tried some more...but whatever i tried i felt it wasnt a bad deal...but it wasnt a steal either.overall I do get some rich features...i was enjoying talking and all on skype ...roaming around house listening music ...Looking cool with wireless kinda thing...
but that is it to it....you wont find it impressive at all if you are a audiophile person but if not you wont find it a disappointment also...it is overall A decent PS3 headset .Would rate it- 6.5/10

Yeah I wasn't impressed by the surround sound quality, it lacks the bass punch and surround feels a bit...wrong. My biggest gripe is that you can't customize anything at all, you're stuck with whatever default sound you get from it. No way to change bass, treble, voice/footstep loudness, no "game" or "movie" presets, heck the surround doesn't even work while watching movie, its only for games. If you're getting them solely to experience surround sound then I wouldn't recommend them over something like X41's which are only like 20-30$ more, sound amazing, lighter than these phones, has user replaceable batteries, and works with PS3/X360 and movie players.
I will update this Virtual surround sound part once i feel i can say more abt it. To be honest i have never tried any other surround sound headset so i dont know how good others are compared to this. I think CC will be best here to answer how good surround sound it is compared to other headset.My opinion says it doing its job good but i also feel there some better surround sound headphones than this.
since people are looking for lot of questions on this and also fast to order it ..I thought whatever i have come to understand i will put it here.
