Review: Uncharted: Golden Abyss

By and large, Sony’s first party line up this generation has resembled a menagerie of experiments; some good, some bad, but mostly eclectic. Amidst the rabble of World War II-themed sci-fi shooters, rag boys and off-road racing extravaganzas lies one diamond in the rough. You know it as the Uncharted franchise, undoubtedly the most valuable series in Sony’s stable. So it makes perfect sense to launch the PS Vita with another adventure of Messrs Drake, Sully and Co. And while most launch titles are cheap cash-ins designed as an excuse to trick you into a false sense of value until the real games show up, Uncharted: Golden Abyss is anything but.

just 8
It would have got a 9 if they priced it well and if you didn't have to spend at least Rs. 1599 more to get the game to run on the Vita
Yup. You won't believe the kind of sh*t games here that get 500+ pages of discussion, yet some gems get ignored

So there is no way it can run without the men card?

No way at all. It gives a prompt asking you to put in a mem card.

I have heard it can be played by women too. So, I think there's gotta be a way.

So, its a launch title for a console, exclusive for that console, and still won't work out of box, if you buy the game and the console. Compulsory accessory for a launch title, and game gets 8 out of 10. We sure, reviews at IVG are still fair. I wonder if reaction would have been different if the game was named "Golden Abyss", instead of "Uncharted: Golden abyss".

That's a moot point. I was contemplating a lower score, I won't deny it. Besides, I'm not a big fan of the franchise either. May have given it an 11 on 10 if it didn't have the Uncharted name. I kid, I kid.
However if someone is going to buy a Vita they will be buying a memory card anyway. No one isn't going to skimp on that. Plus it was fun enough to warrant an 8 at least.
But if you were buying a Vita just to play Uncharted and not anything else, you need to know what you're getting into hence informing folk that a memory card is a requirement.
The difference is subtle, hope that clears it up.

But, but, its an accessory, and not free. if it was needed for some part of game like coop or some feature, its understandable. plus its a launch title. Think halo 5 not working on xbox 720 without you buying hdd. Its a launch title afterall, it should work on console without accessories. Accessories are to enhance the experience. why can't they just jack up the price by 20$ and give a 4gb card free?
