UEFA Euro 2012 is the official video game of the UEFA Euro 2012 football tournament.It is under development by Double Helix Games and it will be published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. This is the first UEFA Euro video game since Euro '96 not published by EA Sports. The game will run on Crytek's CryEngine 3, making this the first sports simulation game to make use of the engine.

every football game linked with Euro or World Cup generally releases in April/May, since the events start in the first week of june. When was this game announced ?

EA always made Euro and World cup games better than the regular iteration of FIFA which follows it.

This will be a let-down after the great progress EA has made in last 2-3 iterations of FIFA.
