I have been using my ps3 for 1 year - since beginning i have observed a somewhat loud tick sound after i am done playing and switching off the system.
This sound does not necessarily comes immediately on switching off but definitely comes in 1-2 minutes
I checked with 1 of my friends and he noticed the same tick sound post gameplay.
My system will soon be out of warranty so want to know if this issues is a standard feature in all the 320gb slim models.

It's just the plastics expanding on gameplay and contracting afterwards. Nothing to worry about.

I think so too.. But to verify, check how hot your ps3 gets after gameplay... I never had this sound in my current 320 gb one, or my old 80 gb one.. Is it well ventilated?

And how does the sound... sound ? Is it constant ticking like maybe dust particles on the fan?

Or does it sound like the ticking sound which you get after stopping a car after a long time?

I used to get the weird plastic cracking sound.. But it is gone now.. Sound comes when your ps3 casing gets heated.. So chillax and concentrate on you gaming
