Hi Guys,

I was looking to buy a game from playasia , so i wanted to know how do we pay customs (p.s . i do not live in a metro city ) and is debit card accepted?Do i have to go to the office to pay the customs or on the doorstep?

If you have found any other website apart from the ones mentioned here , please tell me.

Thank you.

you don't have to go to office to pay customs. the custom cost is added and mentioned. I've never ordered from play Asia but from amazon I do. amazon accepts debit card too.

note: when ever your package arrives tell courier guy that you've paid customs on line.

@bhushan.. Amazon takes a security deposit which handles the custom charges.. In some cases..

Amazon mentions it where it's taking a deposit from you for custom charges. In orders where it's not mentioned and custom charges are there, then the delivery person will collect from you

@blackops..In play Asia there are different delivery methods and if customs is applied then it depends on the delivery method

Normal free delivery :if you are charged customs, then postman will collect it from you while delivering your game

Registered post: same, since the delivery will be done by postman, he will collect it

FedEx or other couriers : the courier guys will collect from you when they deliver it to you

Usually if you order a single game, customs don't catch it unless you are very unlucky.

Thanx a lot for the reply, learnt a lot from the ivg community. Is there any other precaution i should take while ordering from pa (this time ) or any other website to escape customs duty?(p.s i will be ordering single game mostly )

There is nothing you can do about customs.. Sometimes people order 4-5games and don't get hit by customs, sometimes just one game and you are still charged.. Totally upon luck..

Playasia is good, UK sites you can try like shopto, game UK etc.. I personally go for registered post, so that at least some safety is there (postman has to get your signature)

Still many people get it safely even by normal mail.. Depends on how good the postal service is in your area, if you using them for delivery.. International couriers are very good like FedEx etc, but very costly so mostly it does not make sense paying so high for delivery

Try ordering a single game, not so expensive.. And see how it goes.. You will get a idea yourself.. Don't order a high value item.. Many sites offer refund/or shipping the same thing again...but yea all that or refund takes times also

how much shud we pay for the customs ??? jus in case..

It is mentioned when you receive the item. Sometimes they give you a challan/receipt also mentioning the charges.

You can check different charges of customs for different items at the sns(shopnship) thread in this same section to get a idea

The first post in this thread has the percentage of custom charges on different items

thanx again, have u heard of a website named glyde.com or half.com and do they ship to india?

Nope Bro never heard of it.. Usually people in ivg order games from playasia, shopto, game UK, hut (uk), zavi etc.. You can check threads here in this import section, many sites like shopto have a thread to know how things work.

Hello Guys,

I had ordered a game from play-asia and its been almost 6 weeks but i am yet to get my package. The order was sent via normal airmail, i am in regular touch with local post-office but even those people are clueless abt the package. I have mailed Play-asia customer care some 5,6 times but those ppl arent giving me any concrete replies.

Kindly advice what should i do now :(
