PLAYSTATION 4 REVEAL

All PS 4 rumors from now on till the official reveal goes in this thread.

Hardware

- Playstation 4 will be the first PS home console to be developed without Ken Kutaragi (father of the playstation)
- PS 4 will also be the first console to be designed by sony's american division.
- codename for PS 4 is orbis.
- will have a redesigned controller that might double up as a move controller too.
- Vita connection might be a substantial feature
- cloud gaming services
- Backwards compatibility doubtful
- will be powerful


Software

Ready at dawn apparently working on a launch title.
Insomniac might come back too make one too.
naughty dog working on uncharted 4, TLOU might be avb for both ps 3 and ps 4
Guerilla games working on 2 games. one of them certainly is Killzone 4
Sony santa monica has one team making a PS 4 game.
GT 6 prologue rumored to be avb for both PS3 and PS 4 with cross play features.

According to a rumor from Dual Pixels, the next-generation system, which they believed will be called Playstation Omni, will include new entries into the “Gran Turismo,” “Killzone,” “Siren,” “Uncharted” and “Wipeout” franchises in addition to several new intellectual properties. Oh and evolution are certain to have a title near launch. Out of all the big devs, i guess ready at dawn's title will be the flagship launch title for it. Apparently a 3rd person action adventure game. Santa monica's game is being done bu the director of god of war 3 and i read somewhere that it was a game based on cops.

Even sucker punch have 2 teams now.

I am very sure they will continue with the franchise on the next gen console as well ... I am pretty sure Halo and Gears will be available for NextBox (720)

Whats the reasoning behind designing the console in america? Cheaper or something?

AFAIK The japanese consoles have been reliable and have barely had any problems. IF anything it was the american ones like the 360 that ran into hardware problems
