AK77
I had a chat with Ben Berraondo, the senior PR manager for GeForce, about the GTX Titan earlier this week. “Even we were surprised just how popular the Titan was. And still is,” he said. “Titan sold a lot more than the GTX 690, for example. It’s still selling very well.” Realistically though it shouldn’t have come as much of a surprise. The GTX 690 was really just a one trick pony, and not a particularly good trick at that. The dual-GPU card was made for one thing, and one thing only high-end gaming. “We made Titan with no constraints to what we were doing, and priced accordingly as well,” explains Berraondo. And with a wider market to aim at the GTX Titan just keeps on rolling. “We’re basically selling every one we can get our hands on.” http://www.pcgamer.com/2013/05/17/nvidias-surprised-the-titan-outsold-the-year-old-gtx-690-in-just-3-months-were-not/?utm_source=fb&utm_medium=emp Where are TITAN haters? ALPHA17
Where are TITAN haters? Right here, for starters unlike the GTX690 which was perennially out of stock (thanks to GTX680 core shortages), the TITAN being a completely different chip is in full serial production. In-fact there is so much wasted silicon from the fabrication they are fusing of the faulty Shader units (on failed TITAN's) and marking them as the GTX7** series. In the end they are releasing this just as a statement, for most mid-range gamers even the ~$799 price is too much, a GTX670 or AMD HD7950 / 7970 3GB which comes at half the price is a better deal and for the masses anything over the AMD HD78** series is good enough for the next two years. Do you really need TITAN to enjoy nextgen games at high quality?? Get a GTX7** series card or an AMD HD7970 GHz edition and you should be set for the next ~3 years @high eye-candy. The TITAN is if you are an obnoxious snob and like to flaunt it or you love living in CREDIT DEBT.

ALPHA17
It is said that Titan Cards are healthier than GTX 690 cards! Single chip, better shroud design (experience from GTX690 / 680 design), lower TDP on the whole, yes, that card will run longer, stabler, better. No logical reason for the inverse to happen. AMD is actually not doing well. Surprisingly their market share grew in India (laptops / sleek-books) from a piddling ~15% to close ~50%+ in the past year. They are going through tough times but they shall restructure and come out for the better, also if AMD collapses it is bad news for nVidia and Intel. AtheK
Its the profit margins, they are selling lot of stuff at very less margins, which is getting them the numbers but hurting them as well.
i_rock098
So it is kind of good for us the customers we are getting the item at less markup price.

At-least the aversion to AMD components is going down and their HSA architecture based chipsets are throwing their weight in the ~20000/- -->50000/- price range (laptops). Graphics division is keeping them above the water-line, good things can happen. ^^Sadly, it won't collapse. So nothing to worry They are in a very big cash crunch whether you like it or no and there is probability of collapse.

ALPHA17
AMD hardware in both next gen consoles, so good for them amirite? It should help them stave of the red but for how long, cannot say and with the more restrictive DRM touches on them it makes the whole picture a lot more murkier from P.o.V. of sales and profits.
