Imagine if Ubisoft made a multiplayer-open world game building on the stealth and tactical gameplay of its many Tom Clancy licenses, but set in a post-apocalyptic world. Now look at The Division, Ubisoft’s Massive’s spy-’em-up, and realise all your dreams have come true. The publisher introduced the game with a trailer positing a pandemic cause by infected banknotes on Black Friday, before showing a demo of the experience; both videos are available below.

Ubisoft has announced a new open-world third-person shooter/RPG from Massive Entertainment set in Tom Clancy's The Division universe, headed to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The Division focuses on a 2001 operation called Darkwinter, which "revealed how vulnerable we've become." A trailer explained that society has become "fragile" and "complex," noting that the fact that consumers spend millions of dollars on Black Friday and makes us vulnerable to a pathogen that could wipe out shoppers by being passed along via cash.

The trailer explores a doomsday scenario where after a few days, the stock market would collapse, we'd lose power, and society would essentially collapse. Fictional legislation called "Directive 51," signed in 2007, is said to be put in place to deal with that situation.

The trailer asked "what will it take to save what remains?" The Division takes place three weeks after the infection hit New York City.

Is there an incentive here for starting threads with zero info ? There must be a new rule before starting threads and it's high time it's implemented.

+1

Some people just want to win thread wars. They don't realize no one cares who started the thread.

"OP to be updated soon!" Really?
