karoo noctis and i made 50 posts today. MT makes like 500 posts per day - it's easy to hit 50 without spamming. trolling is another matter

i think this should go for vendors:

if they are not damn 100% sure of getting the game, then they should not start the pre-order, if they do however, and do not fulfill it, then they should be blacklisted or have their vendor status revoked...

hmmm.....i think first there oughtta be a warning light cause sometimes sh*t just happens.....courier guys mess up....customs issues even with vendors who've imported a dozen times before & all.......shipment gets lost ...etc etc etc...but yea, some1 who keeps goofin up shd be penalized.

That is different from starting a pre-order when the Vendor himself has not much idea about it.

My suggestion is that we should have a "IC" subforum/thread title prefix like TE/erodov etc where vendors can seek interest of people in various products that they are not sure to get, then get the names of interested people, and then work with their contacts to get the price etc..

IC does not mean "order". It just means that the vendor asks the people if he is able to get it, how many would be interested. When he thinks that the number is sufficient for him, he can work with his contacts to get the final price/availability etc and then if everything is in order, then he can "convert" the IC into a GO, which is when the actual order starts and people can confirm if they want to go ahead with it or not..

Edit: This also means that ppl interested in it know that this is not confirmed and can make their choice whether they want to wait for something that is not sure or go for something tried and tested.

yaar, you are not getting it.. If it doesn't meet his requirement (i.e. number of buyers is small) then he wont start the order. Till that time there is no order, no commitment from either side. He will start the order only and only when he is sure. Vendors need this too because they can't find out about each and everything that lay their eyes on, they need to know what the demand is like. Right now, they faulter in this and treat it like an order, and the buyers do so too. Unless an IC turns into an order, buyer knows that it is not confirmed and if it can affect him then he better stay out of it. It is just a clear indication to both sides.

As an example, in bichhoo's case. Instead of pre-order, he should have started an IC thread. If he got the sufficient number "after telling that he will get price update only by this time" and then finally got the price update, only then he should have started the actual order. Till then it would remain just an IC. Now, you would have come and seen and said "OK, so this means that I'll not come to know the price till 2 days before release, and it might not even come true, but I'll be damned and not able to recover if I don't get it, so I better stay out of it and buy from KMD"

BTW, I'm not too sure about the exact full form of IC, but its something like "Interest collection" or something. It basically means seeing the interest of the people in a particular item and collecting stats about how many can be sold and at what price.

let me set this straight of what i am trying to say, if the vendor is importing stuff himself, then i see no reason for him to hold back his pre-order and give us the final pricing then and there itself as he's the one importing it. if the vendor is relying on his importer, then just don't start the pre-order until u get a damn 100% confirmation from ur source about the import, if the vendor however, starts the pre-order(in both, the first case and the latter one) and does not fulfill the commitment, his vendor status should be revoked or he should be blacklisted.

remember, Vendor section was introduced just so that we gamers can get a peace of mind and not get a pain in the a*s...and as of late, we r getting pain in the a*s and our mind peace is been raped to hell...

Doesnt it seem like the Logical thing to do?
You have a product and a tentative max PRice ..
you (seller)do a interest check to see if it will be profitable to you based on the number of orders you get for that product ..
If IC is a success convert it to a GO else get rid of it ..

You take money from ppl only in the GO and not in IC ..

what there to panic about in this model ..
