So i just played the D3 beta today and it got over in like 2 hours ): - i thought it will be longer since it is the complete ACT 1 and the final game only has 4 acts. This makes me think that the final game will not be long at all .... its value will be in replaying the campaign over and over trying to farm items....

The beta is just the first 25% of Act I.
Remember how long the D2 demo was? It ended once you killed Shadowraven, it didn't let you play the full Act I. The D3 beta is more or less the same length from what I've read.

Can a total D1 and D2 noob jump into D3?

You will be missing a significant amount of backstory depending on how well they cover their tracks. Specially because a lot of major characters from D1 whom we assumed dead aren't dead at all and poised to make a return.

But the story really isn't the strongest point of Diablo as there are other much better games out there better suited for a proper singleplayer RPG experience.
Diablo is first and foremost about the item hunt. Just how powerful a character you can create and how it fares in Hell difficulty.

go to battle.net, create an account and you can buy it digitally there. you'll be buying the game directly from blizzard.

Regarding those weekly class sigil unlocks, does one need to have pre-ordered D3 to claim them?

I had my reservations whether D3 would be able to match Titan Quest's gear design. Does not disappoint :D!

Yea yea, it's a month old video, I no longer keep up with gaming news like I used to.

I wish they had come up with some better unlocks than these weird developer diaries, or atleast that they provided some actual insight into the development process.
That final unlock better be worth the build-up is all I can say.

New difficulty class Inferno :dwarf: has been implemented in D3 apart from Normal, Nightmare and Hell.. This time hoping to reach Inferno difficulty.. :batman:

if we order collectors edition from blizzard then it will go through customs.. so any idea if we can buy Collectors edition in India??

Inferno difficulty is supposed to take months to beat. Assuming you have already farmed the hell out of the Hell difficulty and are pre-decked with the best gear.

Even basic Nightmare difficulty has special affixed versions of familiar enemies that can summon walls around you to trap you; God knows what Inferno has in store.

Hell was really a hell in D2 i barely made it out of 1st quest in hell.. (never got good gear after farming like so much in Nightmare :furious: )

Yup. The closest recent game is Torchlight.

I'd say the closest recent game is Titan Quest.
TorchLight is Diablo Home Basic.

Anyone wanting to see if D3 is for them should check out Titan Quest instead of TorchLight or D2.
TorchLight is too basic and D2 is too dated.

Titan Quest also has the advantage of having better graphics than D3.

An understatement from someone who only played 30 minutes of TQ :P.

Wish I had some of my old high resolution screenshots. The Mongolian snowpeaks, Silk Route, Great Wall of China and Underworld areas were truly beautiful.

D3 has the superior artstyle, but TQ has superior shaders and textures.

The open beta starts in just under a couple of hours. Who's playing?
