One of my close friends car has been stolen in Gurgaon
She has registered a complaint, but she feels that the Police are not acting so fast on the case.
Is there anything that can be done to fasten the process that the right people are arrested before the car goes for some serious modifications

It's pretty difficult to trace it.... maximum you can get reimbursed by the insurance comp.

Am looking forward to book a new Dezire VDI soon, knowing Mumbai rains, is it wise to buy it now ?
Also anything good or bad information that you can come up about the car would be great.
Thanks in advance

Sorry to hear about this.... There are many posts in team-bhp about this. They change the engine, chassis and the number plates so that it cant be traced. And they dont sell the car as such. They make sure that they dismantle the whole thing. engine separate, spark plug separate....

Switching number plates i can understand...but engine, and even sparkplugs?!? i thought that happened only in a fictional chopshop potrayed in an American movie!!

Dude, skilled people can dismantle and reassemble an engine in 10 mins. I've seen it with my very own eyes. So, yeah....it's no movie mumbo jumbo.Switching number plates i can understand...but engine, and even sparkplugs?!? i thought that happened only in a fictional chopshop potrayed in an American movie!!

Its a decent car though I would prefer swift over it, the new interiors look good.
Regarding waiting it is def 5 months in bangalore maybe its better in mumbai.

first bold no - dzire has better interiors,I test drove both swift and dzire VDI version so I know first handas far as i know the interior in the new dzire and the new swift is the same(shared)..... and the dzire doesn't really have a significantly larger boot than the swift... and the swift comes with a stereo as well (bro has it so know that for sure)....
second bold - again no, the boot on dzire is around 200 liters more, if that is not significant to you then I don not know what can be
third bold - the stereo comes inbuilt in ZDI/ZXI versions of Swift but not in VDI/VXI. however it comes inbuilt in even VDI/VXI of Dzire, that is the one I am looking to buy
Aman, swift does look better but even the new Dzire is not at all bad looking, frankly I think for me the usability outdoes the looks, so I chose Dzire
Abhi, I did take a look at Tata Manza and Toyota etios, Ford Fiesta Classic, but frankly in the entry level Sedan segment, Maruti outdoes everybody else. This car drives better than Manza, looks better than Etios, and has lower maintanence as compared to Fiesta Classic. So I chose this.

Because an Alfa Romeo isn't in the same galaxy as a Maruti Suzuki. Why not look at the competitizione?
