Call of Duty: World at War in stores November 12



Here’s some great news for Call of Duty fans. The latest instalment in the series – Call of Duty: World at War, is set to hit stores in India on November 12, simultaneously with the rest of the world.

Thanks to Worldwide CD ROM, those eager to get their hands on the game early won’t have to go searching for imports as the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC versions will be available just a day after US release and two days before European release (Source: VGReleases).

Here’s a rundown of how Call of Duty: World at War will be priced for the Indian market on the respective platforms:

• PC: Rs 1,299
• Xbox 360: Rs 2,499
• PlayStation 3: Rs 2,799

Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, we are unable to organise a IVG Offer around what is sure to be an outstanding game. But it’s great to know that fans in India won’t have to sit around twiddling their thumbs while the rest of the world gets its COD on.

And with news of Activision moving its PlayStation 2 manufacturing operations to India and now with blockbuster titles releasing closer to worldwide release dates, its great to see Activision, one of the biggest game publishers in the world, taking India more seriously as a gaming market.

Update: We've just been informed by WWCDROM that the price for the Xbox 360 version is Rs 2,499, and not Rs 2,599 as we had previously reported.

Rather strange to see only a Rs.200/- difference between the two console versions.

^^ margins were always bigger on the PS3 versions...360 margins were tight so now they have to increase the prices

In name. Imagine T2 farming out alternate year GTAs to a random internal studio. That, and we know what IW thinks about the whole thing from the CoD4 credits song

MEANWHILE:

Call of Duty 4 community manager Robert Bowling has raged at Activision (Treyarch Producer) "senior super douche" Noah Heller for "pulling s*** out of his a*s".

Heller, producer for COD: World at War, had been using COD4 as a reference point in interviews, you see. And Bowling doesn't think Heller knows what he's talking about.

"A rule of thumb I like to use is: when promoting your game. Promote your game. Don't compare it to another game, or reference what other games did in the past, pitch your game," writes Bowling on his IAMfourzerotwo blog.

Don't miss out on this one just 'cause its back to WW2. I've played it for first few hours and its definetely up there with CoD4 in terms of epic scale and on-screen spactacle. In just first hour of the game you'll be destroying tanks with rocket launcher, burning hordes of Japs with awesome flamethrower and calling in air support with WW2 missiles.

There's a similar mode in CoD:WaW called Nazi Zombie mode.

Matchmaking in general is painfully slow. I've to wait for like 5 mins for some 4-5 players (yeah, i've a open NAT). In that regard, GeOW 1 was waaaay better !

The Game is already in some stores here like "Origin Games" in Inorbit. A friend of mine got the game sometime back from there.
