Here's how this section works:
  • This is where members can submit articles for the GI Blog
  • Articles could be anything from opinion pieces, features, demo impressions, reviews, etc.
  • All articles posted here must be minimum 500 words.
  • Articles must be 100% original and must be written by the member who submits it.
  • The best articles, based on response from other members, mods and admins, will be picked for the IndianVideoGamer Blog
  • Each article must be submitted in a new thread.

^^ no... it means that, if the mods and the members are impressed by ur article, then it'll be visible in the IndianVideoGamer Blog.

you can post an article in the forum at any time.

no...it means that if it meets the other criteria (500 words, 100% original), then a mod will approve the thread....the quality of the article will not be taken into consideration while approving these threads

Here are two writing guides to help you.

1) From the Economist - it's based on the Economist Style Book given to journalists. "Unnecessary Words" is the must read section.

2) 6 Elementary Rules of writing by George Orwell - it's a very long read. If you're impatient skip to the end for the rules.

I tried to get my hands on the Reuters handbook but couldn't locate it.

I am thinking about writing a piece on the best freeware PC games available. Sort of like a top 5 list or something.

Should have it by the end of this week if work doesnt distract me.

They were gonna make me a Major for this, and I wasn't even in their f**ckin' army anymore.

yeah, donno why but it takes some time before it shows up, mine took a couple of days :P .. there used to be an approval system but i think sam removed it ...
