it's way worse than tf2. last night when i was sleeping, it was downloading a 680mb patch. this morning when i wake up, it was downloading another 480mb patch

what sort of changes could they possibly do in those 6 hours that required another 500mb?

it's a good game but the developers are seriously abusing steam's patching system. there seems to be no planning or thought or testing that goes into them.

Well, you can always disable the updates if you don't play the game. I do it for TF2.

Right click <game_name> > Properties > Updates Tab > Do not Automatically Update this game.

well I was playing it, until I got fed up of the update promts that kept popping up everyday :|
Then I learnt that this is gonna go on since they're trying out stuff for their upcoming days...and then deleted it.

And what will be the process? Like if I choose Buy will Steam (always) ask me if it is a gift?

Also, if you have a savings account with Netbanking, see if you can generate a virtual credit card number and use that.

Not sure about the account thing. Its not steamworks AFAIK but it might use Uplay (Ubisoft's sh*t service) so if you sign into that some features might tie up to your account. Not sure.

I saw the game at a Music world some time ago but didnt buy cause we were going into the theater and I wasnt sure I would be able to carry it in. Then totally forgot to buy it on the way out.

You will need a Uplay account to login and play Anno 2070, and it requires online activation and all that jazz, but disconnecting your internet in-game doesn't hamper the gameplay, thankfully.

If you are asking specifically about the game, then I have little idea as I haven't played it. From the steam page :

Anyhow, it is back to $29.99 so I doubt you'll buy it at that price.
