Here is where we post the best deals on Steam and also help others in emptying their (and our own) wallets and increasing the backlog of games.


Steam unable to update itself and deleting clientregistry.blob doesnt work?

Try this....

-Download TCPView.

-Whenever that happens, open TCPView & find Steam in the list of processes.
-Right Click, Close Connection.
-Steam will open up a new connection with (probably) a new host.
-Repeat until you get a stable download rate.

Actually I would happily pay that amount in USD for a DVD. I shudder to think all the time needed to download that on my puny 256 k connection.

Almost all games will run on a medicore PC...Problem is you should have a Internet connection with bandwidth to download that...its easily around 40 Gig of stuff

@supersim - your gfx card will be the hurdle. Check out systemrequirementlabs with your pc for the games.

Also, for whoever buys the games, you don't have to download it all at once. I think Steam will just put the codes in your account - after that you can dl as many times as you want.

paging Athek here for gfx card queries - if budget is a constraint get a mid-range card (within 8k) which will help you play most games on med settings.

Grab an ATI HD4850 - costs around 9.5k.

Depends on your budget. If you are willing to spend around 9-10k the ATI 4850 is good. The 9600 is about 6 k which is not half bad. Lastly you have 8600 around 4 K.

All of them will the games from steam at high-very high settings.

All Steam titles are available everywhere, arent they?

No, they are not. Ubisoft titles are generally region locked. Same goes for some amazing bundle packs like the one we are discussing. If I remember right, the GTA pack containing all GTA PC versions till date at an amazing price point was region locked. Same for the Rockstar pack as well.

Nash could have checked and told us, but his Steam account is not an Indian account I believe.

If a mod agrees I think we should just rename this thread to Great offers on Steam.

Because Half life 1 is bieng sold on Steam for 0.98 USD. You cant even find a pirated copy for that cheap.

Limited time offer. Go ahead and grab it, whoever hasnt played it should do so immediately. This is the game where I think smart FPSs began. Its the stuff of legends. Right up there with Deus Ex as one of the greatest games ever.

And yes its still brilliant, if you can look past the dodgy graphics the game play is still second to none. The AI is actually better than Half life 2 (go figure) and the whole game just drips with atmosphere.

Surface tension = one of the greatest levels in FPSs. EVER.

New deals

Beyond good and evil, GRAW, Far cry and Slient hunter 3 at 10 USD each. Pretty good if you havent played any one of those.

I would particularly recommend Silent hunter 3. Its a WW2 Submarine combat simulator from German point of view. Very deep and absorbing game. Not for everyone though.
