India can't tour those countries everyday, what Bcci needs to do is send them to play BBL

Foreign players have got adjusted to India cos of IPL it will help our players too, plus not much pressure perform.

But BCCI has its head too high up its a*s.

In fact BBL is impossible compared to 1 full-fledged tour to white countries.

BCCI will never send its players for BBL and allow organizers to get Indian ad/tv money.
Earlier 3-4 players used to play in county, but now since players play IPL, they dont go there neither the money entice them.

In fact this is a small article that I read a few days back about the inclusion of Indian players in the BBL and Allan Border shared some of his views on the idea:

Former Australia captain Allan Border believes the participation of Indian players in the Big Bash League would enhance the tournament’s stature.

“The Big Bash League is a fabulous product, but it would be great to see a sprinkling of Indian players in the competition,” Mr. Border wrote in ‘The Daily Telegraph’.

“While I am a big fan of the Big Bash in its current format, having some Indians and a few more international players from other countries would really lift it to the next level. No Big Bash franchise has ever signed an Indian player because the Indian Board is extremely protective of the Indian Premier League,” he said.

“Many Indian players are effectively prohibited from playing in the Big Bash and they would not want to anger their powerful board. Tying to get an Indian player released to play in the Big Bash seems almost impossible.”

Border said Cricket Australia can play a big role in this by approaching the BCCI for the release of Indian players as that would bring in more international talent to the event.

“Maybe it is time for Cricket Australia to go to work behind the scenes and see if there can be some deal done to get a few Indians in the Big Bash. That would certainly help the status of the competition and also encourage more overseas players to be a part of it,” he said.

“The issue of the availability of Australian and international players is a tough one but I think that to make the Big Bash really flourish we need to encourage a few more internationals and hopefully get the Aussie stars on deck occasionally.”

hopefully manjrekar, bhogle & co arent on the WC commentary team. it's painful watching when they're on. why dont they just leave dravid on for the whole game. just him alone is more than enough

hasnt dhoni aged like anything in last few months? he's all bloated & looks like he's a 50 yr old

I hope Kohli "adapts" his technique before WC is over. He has been worse than Dhawan in this ODI series.

Rahul slammed 337 with a strike rate of 75+. Hit 47 4s and 4 6s.
Samson also slammed 207 with strike rate of 78.

I think they really need to invest in Samson or some other keeper, Rayudu is just not fit for International cricket.

if we're not going to do well in the WC (& all signs point to that) then i hope we get knocked out before Q/f's itself coz at least that may have some repercussions that will help us in future

Dhoni is probably pinning all hopes on "luck" to get through QF. Reaching SF after such a disastrous tour so far, may not look so bad.

Someone have a look at the pitch between the ongoing Ranji match between Punjab and Odisha which is being shown on TV... If these are the kinds of wickets that are made how on earth would you expect players coming from these domestic circuits to go abroad and play on bouncy wickets!

Meanwhile, New Zealand just added another match to their kitty by strolling to victory against Pakistan's measly total of 210. Good innings from Afridi though, a quick fire 67 of 29 deliveries!

A nicely put together informative article of how it all began way back in 1975...

The Birth of the World Cup:

http://www.espncrici...ory/825489.html

Also, KL Rahul scored a triple century in the on-going Ranji match between Karnataka vs Uttar Pradesh! 337 runs of 448 balls with 47 boundaries and 4 sixes! I wasn't following this particular match so pretty happy that he got such a huge score in the first innings. :)

Dwayne Bravo Quits Tests:

Dwayne Bravo, the West Indies allrounder, has announced his retirement from Test cricket, but wants to continue representing the side in limited-overs games. Bravo had not played Tests since December 2010, and his decision comes after he lost the ODI captaincy to Jason Holder and was then axed from the one-day side for the tour of South Africa and also the World Cup.

West Indies had pulled out from their tour of India last year under Bravo's leadership over a payment dispute with their board and players association. His subsequent removal from the squad had led to allegations of victimization from his lawyer, but chairman of selectors Clive Lloyd had said there was no axe to grind. Bravo was picked for the T20 internationals against South Africa and was also given a central contract by the board.

In the statement announcing his retirement, Bravo said it was a "difficult time" for West Indies cricket and those associated with it, but added that he still wanted to "serve" the fraternity with "the pride of being a West Indian."

"Today I am announcing my retirement from Test cricket," Bravo said. "I have already informed the WICB of this decision and also indicated my desire to continue to represent the West Indies in the shorter formats of the game.

"Over the years, with the greatest enthusiasm, I have done my best with the deep awareness that I am ultimately representing the people of the game.

"I recognise that this is a difficult time for all of us. Our people of the region have seen and enjoyed great cricketing days but we will not return to glory until we agree to go forward with our love for the game and the respect of the administrators, players and the public.

"I have experienced the exhilarating joy of victory and the devastating pain of defeat. The joyous memories will remind me of what we are capable of achieving. I want to be part of that mission.

"I thank the cricketing fraternity for their support and look forward to serving you with determination and the pride of being a West Indian."

Bravo scored 2200 runs in 40 Tests at an average of 31.42 with three centuries and picked up 86 wickets at 39.83 with two five-fors.
