Not entirely unexpected considering how little we've seen of the game till date.

I have been waiting like crazy for this game to release. Considering that Max Payne 1 & 2 are my favourite games of all time.
i'd like to time its release with the purchase of an xbox 360, but at this rate, I think I know which one I'll be getting first.

Get a 360 now man, it's not a good idea to count on the release of Alan Wake (of all things). Sure the game looks all set to amaze but until then why not enjoy all the great games that are already out there for the 360?

I would, but I just splurged on the PS3, LCD tv and some games a coupla months ago. So it'll have to wait a bit.

^^Siberia was a really good game...Did you play Siberia 2??
It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me.

^^ yes - but it disappointed me. It was more of the same. To me the Myst games scored above Syberia because each was unique and very compelling.
I will get there

Yep...Siberia was much better than Siberia 2.....But Myst was also equally good.....

I remember buying Myst and The Journeyman Project Turbo at the same time and enjoying TJP a lot more
Edit: And Syberia 2 was a bit of a let down after the first. Paradise was also very average. I still admire Sokal's art though.

Alan Wake Update
From: http://www.unscripte...an-wake-update/
______________________________________________________
I can’t say enough about my anticipation for Alan Wake despite not having much of anything new on it since X06. (yes the one from 2006) It’s set to debut exclusively at some point on the Xbox 360 and PC. I contacted Remedy Entertainment to try to dig up something new on the title. The word I received was that the game was still kicking strong.
“Right now we are fully focused on development and not ready to talk more about Alan Wake. We’re doing well and the game is looking awesome, but it is time to labor away and to keep our nose to the grind. The game has a lot of potential and it deserves to be crafted into all it can be. We are driven by our own quality standard not a timeline. Would love to talk more when we pop our heads above the surface next time.” - Remedy Entertainment PR
I don’t have to dissect this for you do I? You should be well versed after reading my Truth Serum article on PR Speak a little while ago. It’s not a confirmation of the release that I had hoped for but hearing that the game is looking awesome and to know that they’re set on ”when it’s done, it’s done” shines some much needed light on Alan Wake. At the same time, however, one could also interpret this as an inevitable delay for Alan Wake.
Keep the faith Alan Wake fans! Let’s keep hope alive for a 2008 release.

He's written a TV series as well.
Whats with American game companies picking foreigners as their character models ?
Most recently, Mass Effect and now Alan Wake.

It won't. MSG have Fable 2, Gears of War 2, Too Human and the Viva Pinata sequel to plug for the rest of the year.

How could I forget Banjo
And more exclusives? They'd better. The 360 needs new, quality IP...and fast!
