Noctis
I hope there will be an English version. Unfortunately most of the remakes are not released outside Japan.
KeezNah
Unfortunately most of the remakes are not released outside Japan. It can depend, but LUNAR is just stupid NOT to bring over. Ys arguably has even less significance outside of Japan, yet Atlus got the DS remake localized for that. sh*t, they even went the extra mile and packed BOTH remakes of the first two games into a single cartridge. LUNAR will come, mark my words.
KeezNah
Furthermore, it has been revealed that Ragnarok Online for the DS will be localized by XSEED, which is another Gung-Ho published title. So its safe to assume XSEED will be picking this one up. Celebrations!
Noctis
Thats cool then. I was frustrated about the Tales remakes not being released outside Japan.
KeezNah
I was frustrated about the Tales remakes not being released outside Japan. Tell me about it. Tales doesn't seem to get any love outside of Japan, but that has more to do with Namco being an a*s than anything else, and not JUST for how niche the genre really is. At least GBA/PS1 owners got Phantasia, but Europe still has the ported Eternia. Sadface Edit: You may also find some usefulness out of this NeoGAF thread. KeezNah
Lunar PSP Additional Scenario Detailed GungHo and its subsidiary GameArts have shed some more light on the upcoming PlayStation Portable remake of Lunar: Silver Star Story. In addition to the main story starring Alex, the developers have included another scenario in Lunar: Harmony of Silver Star. This new scenario will let the player assume control over the four legendary heroes (Dyne, Ghaleon, Mel and Lemia) who are trying to free the Goddess Althena from the clutches of an evil wizard plotting the extermination of mankind. To realize his evil scheme, he has captured Althena and summoned five gods known as princes of the dark star. To thwart his plan, the four heroes will have to take on the wizard and the five princes. Another exclusive feature is the addition of bromides which are well hidden in various spots throughout the game. Bromides double as stat-raising items during battle and special character pictures. Lunar Harmony of Silver Star will be available in Japan on November 12th. An English version of the game will be available on this side of the Pacific on January 12th, courtesy of XSeed Games. MarketTantrik
If its available in English for the DS, why bother with the PSP version?
KeezNah
If its available in English for the DS, why bother with the PSP version? This remake is only specific to the PSP, there is no DS version Only other Lunar game for the DS was Dragon Song, which was meant to be an entirely new entry in the series (a prequel, actually). But it was utter balls and is easily one of my most hated JRPGs of all time. I still remember writing a pretty epic rant for that one back in the day

KeezNah
Lunar Silver Star Harmony Demo Coming on US PlayStation Store Today If you’ve been eager to try out Lunar: Silver Star Harmony for the PSP, you might want to download the demo as soon as it is available on the PlayStation Store. By clearing the demo, you will be able to save a clear data, and with it you will be able to unlock some goodies. I’ve been playing the final build of the game and so far, and I must say it’s one of the best remakes I’ve played. Check back with us this weekend for a hands-on impression of the game. =D ! KeezNah
woo one more week to go I'm happy I upgraded to official firmware. Getting the game off the PSN store makes more sense than having to worry about a physical copy. Cheaper, and quicker too.
Aftrunner
No clue about the game but I love the art style. Looks very beautiful. Has a Braid like hand painted thing going on.
KeezNah
Gamespot Review: The Good: * Gorgeously remade graphics * New story scenes fill in the blanks * Dynamic battle system * Excellent soundtrack. The Bad: * Unavoidable grind * Mildly grating voice acting. Lunar's debut had a bold personality that has successfully shined through in past remakes. Fans can be assured this tradition continues on strong in this refined and tightly honed PSP revival of the classic. Not only is everything that made the original adventure such an enthralling journey to begin with still intact, but it's also substantially amplified and improved upon through all of the new changes found in this definitive remake. Lunar: Silver Star Harmony works well on many levels. As such, it's a real treat for your RPG sweet tooth. Score: 8.

KeezNah
Am 6 hours in, impressions so far: + New music and artwork is pretty swank. Fight animations are smooth and cool to watch + Load times not much of a problem since I'm playing this on my memory stick + Most of the localized dialogue from Silver Star Complete seem to be intact - Some voice actors and arranged vocal tracks feel off - Entering new areas/houses has annoying fade-in/fade-out effect - No random encounters, but trying to maneuver away from enemies on foot is pretty hard - Enemies respawn when shifting to a different area on the same map - New story sequences aren't anything to right home about Overall, it's Lunar. I can't really complain too much. Hope I can complete this before that other game arrives this week.
