Im glad that they made the move to get Team Ninja involved with this one. The Metroid games have been good so far but now its going to take a whole new turn and we are going to see a candidate for GOTY very soon.

Quoted for awesomeness. And hell yes it looks fapalicious. But if Team Ninja is working on this, what's Retro Studios up to?

haven't played much of halo but i don't think halo focuses on exploration, which is mp's biggest draw, which makes the two games not so similar but i might be partly mistaken.

* Metroid™: Other M, the incredible new Metroid game developed for Wii through a collaboration by Nintendo and the world-renowned Team Ninja, launches June 27. The game looks at the classic franchise from a new perspective: While much of the game is reminiscent of 2-D side-scrollers, players can switch the perspective into 3-D at any time as they explore the twisting passages of a derelict space station and delve deep into a cinematic, never-before-told story of bounty hunter Samus Aran’s past. This new approach uses a new control scheme in which players use the Wii Remote™ controller held sideways to battle enemies and navigate the expansive, gorgeous environments in classic Metroid fashion, then aim at the screen with the Wii Remote pointer to blast foes in first-person and hunt the world for clues and hidden passages.

:D Holy sh*t this sounds totally amazing. I gotta get a Wii.

Too bad they phased out the Metroid Prime Trilogy CE. This would have been a perfect time to revisit those metroid games.

Gamespot Hands on:

At this point, Metroid: Other M seems to succeed in creating a new type of Metroid experience, but it's really hard to explain just how different it feels until you get your hands on it. The mixture of old Metroid and Metroid Prime elements seems like it's not an amazing fit initially, but changing from third- to first-person feels more natural as time goes on. We'll have more on Metroid: Other M before its release on June 27.
