Konami announces Metal Gear Solid HD Collection

The Metal Gear Solid HD collection was revealed during Konami’s Pre-E3 conference and will be available on the PS3 and Xbox 360. The collection contains Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (Subsistence version), and Metal Gear Solid: Peacewalker HD. Metal Gear Solid 1 was surprisingly not mentioned. The porting is being undertaken by the same studio that did the God of War HD collection, Bluepoint. So, this is certainly good news for people who are skeptical about the conversion quality.

Konami also announced a Zone of the Enders HD collection, which features both the games, Zone of the Enders 1 and 2. Both the collections will feature complete support for Trophies and Achievements and will also run at 60 fps. Konami announced an exclusive feature for the PS3 version called the ‘transfarring system’ (that’s how they spelled it), which features cross-platform save system between the PS3, PSP, and the upcoming Sony handheld, NGP.

“It’s not just emulation… and the play feel is completely new, said Hideo Kojima, creator of both Metal Gear Solid and Zone of the Enders, when describing the quality of Peacewalker HD.

Metal Gear Solid HD collection is slated for release this November, and the Zone of the Enders HD collection will be released in 2012. While E-Xpress Interactive is Konami’s distributor for India, many recent Konami games haven’t been releasing here, so we’ll have to wait and see if these titles are made available in India.
