guys, stop fighting over 400% zooms and 12-24% resolution. every game has issues here or there. Heck, TF2 crashes my XSX all the time and in Spider-Man RM I ran into a screen grab where textures a whole building were not rendered. who cares. just enjoy the game.

You can always mod a paperwhite to have warm light. Basically pry open the front, take a highlighter and color the leds slightly. CLose it up. Downside is that it isn't adjustable on the fly compared to the oasis, but you can turn off the back light during the day and when you switch it on at night you get the warm/orange glow that's easy on your eyes. Source: I've done it myself on my 7th gen kindle paperwhite instead of splurging for the Oasis.

Think from Nintendo's perspective. You've a pretty solid and increasing fan base for Switch currently. Do you want to alienate all those and release a mid-gen refresh with higher horsepower, again to refresh the whole gen in 2023 ? Basically you're alienating your fans twice - once by releasing a beefier model in just 4 years, and then again by releasing an entirely new console in another 2 years. Add to it the complexity of development for 2 different SKUs now - currently it's one size fits all. What would be the cost implications ? They might already be in the process of a console refresh sooner than later, and hence this release might make sense from an incremental perspective. Ofcourse, everything is speculative, but from a company's perspective, they would rather devote time, money and people on bringing a new console soon than half heartedly pushing new specs, making it obsolete again after 2 years. Historically, it's not the way Nintendo works. I guess it was a bit different during 3ds era since they had 2 major console lines - handheld and TV based, but now everything seems to riding on the hybrid model.

Mobiles also release newer models, with far better specs every year. You want to follow that? Imagine what havoc it will play on both devs and customers. Anyway the point really is moot. New 3DS was a one-off. And it was not well received at all. There are barely any games that are "Full exclusive" to the new 3ds, and almost all received Switch ports because Nintendo and other devs wanted people to actually play and experience those games. Same happened with the Wii U - which was a decently powerful console for it's time. It flopped so hard that almost all Wii U games have received Switch ports, so at least some people would play the game. Nintendo is out of the high graphics game - precisely because historically they have flopped hard (except the freak Wii with it's Wii Sports). There really is no point in a Switch Pro. Existing Switch owners are very happy with the current Switch. Heck, even new adopters and buyers are happy. The entire fiasco is the fault of the so called "Insiders". Nintendo equivalent of Xbox's Jeff Grubb. These so called "Insiders" have been screaming "A New Switch Pro" before almost all Nintendo Directs since 2019 at least. This has led to confusion among a lot of new buyers as to whether there really was a new model or not. With many sales being lost as people decided to wait for the so called "Pro" Version, and what if it was the same price as the original Switch. I would not be surprised if the OLED model is to get these "Insiders' and career rumor mongers to shut up. Another example why these "Insiders" are harmful to the industry. No wonder Sony went after them.

Nintendo is so different from a typical mobile company, it's not even funny. I know I sound like a broken drum, but look at their history, releases, games, and it'll give an idea on how the company thinks. For me personally, this refresh is simply "good to have", not a "must have". The must have model is 2-3 years away. And in a way I'm happy since I'm sure no exclusives will be exploited for "new" hardware, and I'll directly spend on a new Nintendo console sometime in future.

The new c stick improved gameplay as well. I guess kid Icarus makes use of it extensively.

Pretty much the same. B series processor is normally a generatiod behind and the panel brightness takes a hit too. Unless you own multiple TVs or look at them side by side, you may not notice.

Its much more polished than the demo. Game is really fun, combat is amazing.

I definitely see a proper Switch pro version to release next year. DF is hinting at the same in their latest video.

It has low brightness so HDR won't be good but I don't think that it will matter to them. Also, the only difference between this and the regular Crystal Tv is the voice assistant so it makes more sense to get that one instead along with a firestick.

You don't need a mid gen hardware refresh when you got family.

Yeah, if you are thorough and mindful in your prep and don't rush through the game, there is very little that can stop you. The game gives you plenty of sh*t to survive. You get some really powerful weapons in biome 6 too. It is then when you realize that Ophion, the final boss, is just a little bitch waiting to be slapped around. I thought the same initially too, but I had a lot of fun with it. I loved that its playstyle was so different from that of the Hollowseeker, which was my most used weapon in the first playthrough. But yeah, it's probably not the weapon to use if a challenge is what you're looking for. I only got to use the Coilspine Shredder in a daily challenge and thought it was f**king awesome! Sadly, I only ever came across it once in the main game and didn't pick it up :\ Tested out the Dreadnought and the Pyroshell Caster as well and from what little I played, they seemed to be powerful and fun too.
