Super f**king awesome news. Took a while but here's how it played out. We spoke with so many rescuers and shelters and zero luck. In the mean time someone had beaten the thing and I seen she had a gash above her eyes. We still couldn't take her home because of the situation with the cat and space. In desperation we called my cousin's wife in the middle East because we remembered her family had a few dogs and she was an animal lover too. She put out the word, and after a few dead ends a young lady called and said though she had just adopted a stray she would try and find a home for this one. A few anxious days passed and we finally got a call from a doctor who had a cook that wanted a dog. We were almost finalized when she called back a day later with the news that they had found another stray and her cook was keeping it. Blasted luck. A couple more days passed with us posting left and right and hitting up pet groups. Got a call from the doctor again. This time there was a patient who's son's dog had died a month back. The doctor made the lady emotional and she agreed to adopt this one. With the help of a couple of kids from the society we managed to get the doggie into my car and drove her to the shelter for her shots. She stayed there for a couple days. Finally today we picked her up and drove her the 15km to her new home. The lady and her mother were home and were really nice. Doggy cried while we were leaving but I know she'll be happy there. Big house, nice big front yard and a kid (who we hadn't met because he was away at tuition) who his mother assured us was asking about the doggie all morning. So all's well that ends well. Happy day today.3 points

Remote play may not be a much used feature by many users- but for some of us (especially the older folks) , it is an absolute must have - specifically for LAN play. In fact it is thanks to remote play that I have been able to keep playing - The only real time I get to game is late at night after the kid goes to sleep and its a lot easier to continue on a remote device in the same room instead of switching on the TV. In fact most games I have finished in recent years have been completed 75% over remote play Over the last 1 month, I have been testing / using RP on PS5 extensively with all major platforms including Android, iOS, iPad OS , Windows and Mac OS The good news is that Remote Play has improved drastically over the PS4. I saw very few instances of frame drops/ latency compared to the old gen unit (keep in mind that I do not have a PS4 Pro so this comparison is purely against the original fat PS4) The bad news is that the resolution is capped at 1080p although HDR support is there - and works as expected. In addition, the UX varies considerably by platform. The game used for testing was TLOU2 which runs at 4K 60fps HDR on the PS5 iOS (7/10)- Works well with both DS4 and Dualsense. Both devices are recognized correctly. Frame rates are fluid and while there is no way to actually check the fps, it appears to be definitely close to 60 fps than 30 fps. Mac OS (4/10)- The app seems unoptimized. The frame rates are inconsistent with regular choppiness. The only saving grace is that the DUalsense is recognized correctly over both BT and wired connection iPad OS (9/10)- This is my preferred method as the experience is almost as good as local play. The The rendering quality is fantastic and framerates are very close to 60fps or probably hitting 60. No choppiness/ frame drops at all - And HDR works too! Controller latency is there but its small enough to work very well for arcade games as well as Third Person shooters like TLOU2 . May however be an issue with FPS games. The only bummer is that for some reason, Dualsense is not recognized with a wired (USB-C to USB-C) connection and works only via BT. The DS4 otoh works fine wired as well. Windows (7/10) - Very good experience. Framerates are solid and latency is at par with ipad. However I could not get HDR for some reason - and the controller works only in wired mode. Android (1/10) - Caveat - this could be an issue with my device as Android 10 devices are supposed to support the PS controllers. Unfortunately I could not get the PS remote play app on Android 10 phone to recognize either the PS4 or PS5 controller in either wireless or wired mode. I did however try a third party (paid) app called PSplay. The app worked as expected with DS4 but I could not get the DS5 to work. I did not test enough to have a view on how the framerate/ rendering quality/ experience is Two Questions: a) Would really appreciate if someone with a dualsense and ipad (any model with USB C port) could try and check if their controller works in wired mode. While the wireless mode is fine, the Dualsense cannot retain two BT connections which means I need to pair/ unpair each time I want to use it with the ipad. b) Android 10 users - Are you able to get a Dualsense or even DS4 working with remote play?1 point

Am I the only one who wants to pre-order 10-15 days before release, say after reviews drop?1 point

Nope. Original packing is not madatory but pack it well. Also, the terms keep changing so better to take it over email that original packing will not affect value.1 point

Yeah same. Whether it’s debit or cc, gift card purchases seem to be blocked. I guess even scam requires GST payment1 point

Yep, I'm checking for optimum build set-ups post leveling and then probably try out a one chapter for test run to see how it goes. I'm not fond of playing on higher difficulties at all, so if it's too tedious, I'll probably not go for it. The combat is too good to pass up on, but the handicaps in hard mode are just too rigid.1 point

Exactly. Website design is an important factor which many companies don't give much importance. It's my prime reason for using Gamenation instead since prices are same.1 point

Carbine with Leech makes the game practically easy. Electro pylon doesn't have portal beam trait, Hollowseeker does. It happens to assist you in many situations.1 point

There was but won't be anymore. Data suggests so. It all starts from the chip manufacturers. These guys placed huge orders to the fabs in order to stablise the supply chain which has been constrained for over 2 years, assumption was that demand will continue to increase. But now that supply is finally ready to hit the market, demand is either flat or drying up due to inflation and recession woes. With the crypto slump, demand in pretty much every asset & commodity class has gone down. Check RM prices, fallen off the cliff. Hence, excess supply is coming to the market. For example, AMD and Nvidia placed gigantic orders to TSMC but because of crypto bubble burst, are now cutting MSRPs overnight. You can check on Newegg, Amazon etc. TSMC refused to cut orders, they are only allowing them to delay it by a quarter. Same thing is happening with TV manufacturers, they also ordered increased amounts of chips and increased their glass production. But instead of demand going up, demand is flat or decreasing. Good time to buy. I don't expect huge discounts but I don't expect less discounts either.1 point

Intermission (yuffie dlc) can be started separately from the main menu There are some changes in the story, abd apparently its not supposed to be a 1:1 remake. Also it will have 2 more games to complete the story. You should also pick the crisis core remake/remaster that is getting released this year, as it ties in directly to FF7 remake part 1.1 point

I played both FC5 and FC6 when both games had their free weekends. I can tell you can 6 felt way better than 5. 5 was pretty garbage in terms of atmosphere and satisfaction. I hated the American Countryside theme and capturing bases felt like the most limp dick sh*t ever. FC6 is much better in that respect. Only thing is I didn't get much time to experiment with that grenade backpack mechanic they have. I'll probably get FC6 when it gets cheaper + my backlog is done. For reference, the only FC game I played before this was FC3 and I loved that to death.1 point

Yes i got the router bridged the very next day. For people with airtel connection the process is actually simple which i will lay down below, if any one needs it in future, but the problem is the ignorance/lack of knowledge/money skimming directive of the airtel executives. Their attitude might vary from location to location but i went through all types of executives to finally get the right solution. Here are the 'right' steps for latest airtel fiber connection: - Get your connection setup with their router and test it for few days. Once you are sure the connection is stable call airtel and ask them to bridge any 1 port on your router. - This is done at the backend and there is absolutely no need for any executive to visit your place. - Only 1 port will be bridged i.e other ports become useless (not detected on lan). - Once its done, airtel executive will call and inform you. - Change mode from "router" to "bridge" in your airtel router settings. - Connect the bridged port to the WAN port of your main (self bought) router. Input the WAN log-in id & password (if you don't know, ask airtel executive) in your main router settings. There is no need of changing any other settings or static ip. My airtel router shows "red" light i.e offline indication when in bridge mode. That's normal. As for why you need bridge mode on your airtel router instead of connecting your main router via any other mode is because you would want to access all features of your main router and that can only happen when your main router is the primary router (afaik). Hope this helps. Cheers.1 point

Just played this little gem called "last day of June" from the catalog. Wanted to play this since long as I loved the creator's previous game but never got a chance. It's a short 3~5 hour title about a couple & an event that occurs in their life. The game is basically the husband re-living that moment over and over again but through the eyes of different members of his small hamlet and trying to change the course of events by their actions. Game makes you teary eyed during the climax and the payoff is absolutely worth it. Very very highly recommend.1 point

Not a fan tbh. I know the A7iii and iv are one of the best, but Sony cameras look like aseptic corporate halls. Sony glasses get EXPENSIVE too. They're better with videos than Fuji, which is not my aim. I've used an XT3, and I like the film simulation modes. It also gave me quite many keepers OOTC (JPEGs). Would have gone for XT3, but XT4 has better low light + IBIS. And I did miss IBIS on XT3, specially pairing with non stabilized lenses like 16-55 /f2.8. It's a crime that one of Fuji's best lenses misses on OIS (even their kit aka 18-55 has OIS).1 point

Hmmm. Your child? Anyway exposing a kid to self help books that early? Might turn him off from reading entirely. I'd rather recommend getting this kid in question into the habit of reading, the genres and learning can come later. Once you enjoy fiction, you can diversify interests later. Business and personal finance and personality books can be quite a bore, especially for a 10th grader. I'm a teen myself, so I'd say I'm more clued in that an average book salesman who'd just recommend you some bestsellers.1 point

Bringing back the discussion on-topic: I tried Far Cry 5 over the free weekend. Everything about the game just felt "pretty ok". My thoughts: Progression seemed a bit whack to me. You can get a wingsuit right off the bat. You can also find a plane and fly all over the map immediately after the tutorial area. I guess its good for people who like the freedom but I liked it a lot more in Far Cry 3 where you got the wingsuit halfway through the game. It felt like this big epic thing. I liked the opening cinematic. The religious vibes and all are pretty cool. Stealth melee is very unsatifsying because they force you to use blunt weapons. Not sure what the thought process behind that was. FC3 had a knife and it felt way more satisfying Didn't like the craftng system. Just give a dedicated menu, instead of the weird expanded weapon wheel like thing. A lot about this game just feels kind of half hearted. The companions seem just ok. The feel when liberating camps isn't very satisfying. Just kind of meh.1 point
