  1. Quite a lot of purchases over the last 2-3 months. Sold off my 3DS XLs (multiple), one of the PS Vita, and a Wii U that I owned since I realized I am not going to get time to play them. Then decided to put the money into buying more games and stuff for which I may not have enough time for. I know it's paradoxical, but I've accepted that about myself 1. PC upgrade The first major upgrade is the PC. Sold my Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super, Antec EAG 650W and purchased the following: - Corsair RM850 PSU - Gigabyte RTX 3080 Gaming OC 12GB - Western Digital 850 1TB - APC 2000VA UPS Edit: I also swapped out the cooler fan on my CM Hyper 212 with a Noctua NF-F12. 2. Nintendo Switch games & accessories Then went on to make a ton of purchases for the Switch. Physical Games: - Metroid Dread - Pokemon Arceus - Animal Crossing - Luigi's Mansion 3 - Xenoblade Chronicles 2 - Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Furty - Kirby and the Forgotten Land - Astral Chain - Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Digital Games: - Witcher 3 with DLC - Hades - Ni No Kuni - Wrath of the White Witch - Hollow Knight - Burnout Paradise Also got the Spigen Armored case + Spigen Grip for the NSW OLED. 3. New TV and changes to the working space | Samsung QN90B 50 To do justice to the PC, finally got a dedicated setup for my personal PC. I used to have both my work and office PC on the same desk and I was unable to get over my mind block to relax in the same space / use the same desk and monitor. Far from ideal, but decided to get a Samsung QN90B 50 inch TV and mount it on the opposite wall. Moved the PS5 to the same space as well. - Got a simple table mate / portal table on which I use a basic wireless Logitech Keyboard and Mouse for now. The eventual plan is to get a 60 keys wireless mechanical keyboard and a decent wireless mouse. I don't play a lot using KB + Mouse - so may skip this entirely.

  10. They dropped a short environmental comparison video yesterday. Anyway, cutscenes aren't really the main draw for me here as much as just playing the game with the improved graphics is. I absolutely loved the graphics in TLOU2 and getting to play this game at the same visual fidelity would be a treat. But I'll just wait for it to hit PS Plus. The 5K pricing is f**king insane!

  11. This. It looked glorious! Looked almost like "Man, I need to pre-order this." Thankfully, the word "almost" kicked-in, better sense prevailed, and I didn't spend my money on this... ...yet.

  21. Hi everyone! I searched around but couldn't find a thread on here dedicated to posting pics of your gaming collection. So I decided to start one Before we begin, I want to set some expectations for the content of this thread: 1) This thread is CERTAINLY NOT about trying to prove whose collection is better or whose collection is bigger. Please don't make comments that will lead to such types of discussion. I have seen another thread get locked because people started fighting. 2) This thread IS NOT about leaving negative comments for others' collections. If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything! 3) This thread IS NOT a selling thread. 4) This thread IS about sharing your collection and appreciating fellow IVG members' passion for games. Don't be afraid to post your collection no matter its size! 5) This thread IS about showing your physical games only, not digital. Please understand that I am not discriminating. The point is to show something tangible, that is, something that you can hold and share. I too have a bunch of games in my Steam library but I will not be showing those here. 6) This thread IS about original games only. No pics of pirated CDs and cartridges please! Now with that out of the way, let us begin! I will start by posting pics of all my Nintendo games. I have only played Nintendo since childhood. Partly because I found their games very appealing and partly because all my friends had only Nintendo consoles. I think one guy had a Sega Saturn and Sega Genesis but I never found those interesting. Before I had any game console, I remember playing on my friend's Super Nintendo (SNES) and being wowed by the graphics at the time. I looked forward to going to their house to play some games When the Nintendo 64 came out, two of my friends got it and it was the most amazing game console I had ever seen. The shape was futuristic and the controller had so many buttons! Mario had transitioned to 3D. Everyone was losing their minds over Zelda Ocarina of Time and Super Mario 64. I just had to have it. My parents got me my own Nintendo 64 as a surprise gift for my 11th birthday and it was the best day of my life! I still have it to this day, box and all. Now when I think back, that day must have been the day that I was bitten by the "Collector Bug". Any normal kid would have torn open the box and thrown it in the trash after taking out the console. But not me. I remember carefully opening it and then storing the box in my closet. Even when we moved back to India 2 years later I made sure my mom packed it securely so it wouldn't get damaged in transit. I picked up a Game Boy Color in 2001 just after the Game Boy Advance came out. Then there was a long gap till 2008 before I got another console, the Nintendo Wii. I got it 2 days before starting my first job and it was the last console sponsored by my parents Once I started getting my salary I was free to buy whatever I wanted and decided to buy all the Nintendo consoles ever made! Since then I've been slowly building my collection over the years and now it is at a point where I've run out of space for storing everything. I'm very thankful that my wife is cooperating with me and hasn't just thrown everything in the trash Now let's move on to the pics!! This is the first time I am publicly posting my collection and I am very proud to do so on our very own IVg! Nintendo Entertainment System (NES): This thing single-handedly saved the video game industry after the crash in 1983. We owe all the games that we love today to this humble console. It popularised games again and put them in every family's living room. More pics: Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES): The follow up console to the wildly popular NES. This is a loose console but I'm actively looking for a boxed one in good condition. The Super Game Boy allows us to play Game Boy games on the SNES. Nintendo 64: My favorite console of all time! Though that is being seriously challenged by the Wii U. This console is a sizeable chunk of my collection. More pics: Virtual Boy: Nintendo's first failed console. Headache-inducingly cool. Nintendo GameCube: I actually never found this console very interesting. I got it recently to complete the collection. It has a Game Boy Player attached that allows one to play Game Boy games on the TV. More pics: Wii: Nintendo's massively successful foray into the casual gaming market through the innovative use of motion controls. More pics: Wii U: Bad marketing and bad naming led to people calling it the "Pee yew". But I still love it. More pics: I'm not planning on buying a Nintendo Switch just yet. Maybe I'll pick it up towards the end of the year. Now moving on to the handhelds! Nintendo Game Boy line: I have the original Game Boy with the green screen and the Game Boy Pocket but those are in need of a bit of repair. I will post those pics later in the future. Game Boy Color Assorted colors Game Boy games Game Boy Advance Game Boy Advance SP Game Boy Micro Nintendo DS line: More pics: Nintendo 3DS line: The limited edition Zelda Majora's Mask 3DS XL is very rare. More pics: My collection of various Nintendo gold consoles. I still need to find a few more like gold GameCube that was available only in Japan. And finally some cool stuff that I got from Club Nintendo before it shut down: Some of these consoles have started to give minor issues recently because of their age. But a quick service restored them back to new working condition. I posted my experience repairing them here: http://www.indianvideogamer.com/forums/index.php?/topic/52696-nintendo-games-and-consoles-repair/ Looking forward to seeing other peoples' gaming collections be it Nintendo, Microsoft, Sony, or any other!

  24. I'll be honest, I liked her section way more than I did for Ellie. I might be in the minority here, but I felt her story arc was very compelling and the end left me gutted of how much she had changed over the course of the game.

  29. I recently watched Top Gun Maverik. It was a satisfying watch and a welcome break from all the third grade Marvel and woke content that Disney is spewing these days. I had also watched the original Top Gun on Netflix. But the sequel is much better with modern planes and gadgets. Cruise acting was also first class in the movie.

  32. I moved to a new house and completely revamped the game room compared to the previous one I posted last year! I've come a long way since I started this thread 5 years ago. It's been a fun journey. Met lots of people along the way. I think this is my final setup. No energy to go beyond this. Gaming on a 120" screen with 5.1 speakers is really something else. The room is closed with no windows. Proper man cave More close up pics of everything in the following link (contains some old pics from before the projector was setup): https://imgur.com/a/UBZWZsu

  35. Hello. I'm from Bangalore (tho my college is in another city). I'm 21 years old. My first console was a PSP in 2009, second was PS3 in 2011, on which I played tons of games. I still have them both in perfect working condition lol. I currently have Nintendo Switch OLED and a couple of games. (I'm always looking for more games but they're expensive af and I can't afford many). But I LOVE playing on handheld, so I'll have to arrange something. And I also have a couple of years old Asus gaming laptop with i5 9300h and GTX 1650. I dislike multilayer games, and I almost exclusively play story heavy games. Like JRPGs and RPGs. Anything that won't require multiplayer connection. My favourite games are BOTW, Mario Odyssey, Persona 5, Horizon Zero Dawn, GTA 5. I'm a completionist and I literally cannot put down a game without completing all the side quests, no matter how trivial it is. Besides gaming I also like anime and manga. (I'm learning Japanese and have almost completed N5 syllabus). Would Love to game and talk with you guys.

  36. So I just got done with Yakuza 6 story line and with that the Dragon of Dogima journey. Having taken a gaming break from 2019 till mid 2021 and with the launch of PS5, I felt it was the right time to come back. And man was I not spoiled with choices with the majority of AAA titles available like LOU 2 and others waiting for me. Don't know why at that time, I felt I needed to try something different, so I just bought yakuza 0 on sale for 399 without seeing any trailers, reviews in june 2021. Fast-forward to May 2022 and just around a year, I am done with the kiryu saga and those 7 titles. WHAT A BLAST IT HAS BEEN Talking about the kiryu saga as a whole, I would rate them in the following order: Y-0 Y-6 Song of Life Y-4 Y-5 Y-3 Y-1 (Kiwami) Y-2 (Kiwami 2) Have to be honest, if I had started with Kiwami as an entry point in the series, I would not have completed it because it was difficult to care for both protagonists as I found little reason to connect with them or this universe. BUT, this is where Yakuza 0 completely changes that view point. So anyone looking to start and complete this saga, Yakuza 0 will give you the initial adrenaline push to be connected with this franchise. Now lets fast-forward Song of life is a fitting ending to the kiryu saga and gives you that mental satisfaction of playing through the entire series through the hints of previous events mentioned not only in the main story but also the freaking SIDE STORIES (Pocket circuit Fighter, SHORO PIPI guy etc.) The main story is second best in the series, just after 0 because they make us care about the supporting characters again which hadn't happened since 0. For e.g. Won't write a lot about side stories and side activities because they are always top-notch and the RGG team is coming with new ideas, which is always good to see. Now will take a proper break (for REAL this time) before I jump into the remaining 3 games, but before that I need to go back to RIZAP Gym to get those sessions done. Favorite soundtracks from the series

  37. Samsung has smartly not put ads in the software in their top end devices, else people would've revolted lol. Mid range used to have it iirc but they're being phased out. If they could only stop with the sh*t pre-loaded apps we would have a winner.

  38. Bought iPhone for mom some months ago. I hate the interface so much. I've gotten so used to Android, using anything in iOS is a PITA.

  39. I think navigation using Android gestures (A12) is just much better than iOS. You can customize the flick gesture to "go back'" on both sides of the screen. On iOS, it only works when doing it from left side, making it tougher for small hands. Also, I could do text size much smaller on Android vs iOS (pet peeve). Share sheet, IMO, is also better on Android. But the haptics on iPhone are a class apart. I ALWAYS turn off haptics on all Android phones, including Pixels, but iPhone haptics are really good. FaceID is superb ! Only gripe - you can't set more than one. And double tap + FaceID needed to buy apps. Great battery, camera, fluidity. Love Apple Arcade + Apple Music. Widgets, to my surprise, are better on iOS. Android widgets are stuck in 1994.

  40. iOS: Pros- Love the privacy features. Denying track FTW Battery life is amazing Camera is damn reliable. Shoot and good to go. option to give temp email ID for subscriptions that need emails is really handy Overall fluidity of system is commendable. Never lagged ever. Frequency of updates if you are on beta program. haptics are amazing. faceid is great. Cons- very very restricted ecosystem. A lot of things which are very easy and basic takes multiple steps on ios. ex, try sending something over bluetooth. Multitasking is not like how it is on android. missed it big time when i was using iphone. notification center is still a hot mess. customizations are still lacking compared to android. End of the day, if you do not multitask a lot and just want to use a phone for calling, taking pics and music, there is nothing better than iphone. If you are an enthusiast and use your phone for productivity then you will feel very restricted in apple ecosystem. That is why I had to come back to android.

  41. If you're already in Apple's ecosystem if great and works flawlessly. Their garden albeit with some tall walls, is beautiful. I'm into heavy customization and I don't like how sometimes Apple patronizes their users with some of their default or hidden settings. Their newer privacy rules and policies are commendable. I really hope Google takes a note from their page and introduces something similar. I'm using AdGaurd, but there's nothing like having your privacy and data protected natively. Hats off to Apple on making that bold move! But I'm too deep into the non-Apple ecosystem and I hate the notch. Slowly my entire family is getting into Samsung devices and I'm hoping with the QD-OLEDs, we can add a Samsung TV into the mix as well for ease of casting etc. Also looking forward to what Fuchsia brings into the mix
