    its from my brother....he needs an unlocked one coz he;s in australia, so he'll need to use an aussie sim card....also i heard jailbroken iphones wont work in aus...is that true?

     

    i dont really think he needs either of these highend phones....he just wants a fancy one.....i guess wifi and a good browser would be a must and he travels quite a bit so the more featrures the better

    jailbroken iphones will work anywhere.... and if he wants something fancy and with a good browser .... dont look beyond the iphone.... perfect for his application.... u cud get a 2g iphone for arnd 23-24k in the grey market(but its rare) or u cud go the legit way and buy a 3g and use yessim or ts to unlock it till a software unlock is released....

    i bought a Verna VGT CRDI SX last month and am absolutely loving it .... its a total beast.... :)

     

    as of now iv only upgraded the ICE and had alloys and wider tyres put.... will post pics in a bit....

     

    future mods-

    AEM SRI (if i can get my hands on one)

    PSI Tuning Box/ECU Remap

    P.s:- You got scammed by the "guy". The 40Gb has no backwards compatability.

     

     

    no i didnt get scammed .... i went there knowing that it duznt have BC.... wen he said it was BC i just thought id check again....

    i have found some flaws in the phone that are making me wanna already sell it off.

     

    the biggest being the placement of the 0 key its to the right of the 9 key and its a pain calling a number as im so used to it being below the 8 key....

     

    second flaw is the qwerty keypad .... too cramped up and hard to message .... i was getting annoyed last nite ....

     

    another thing abt this phone is that it hangs .... already hung on me twice .. in less than a day .... if i get a good deal im planning on selling it off and picking up the curve 8320....

     

    its a fingerprint magnet .... :S

     

    hopefully i should get rnd 22k for it .... :)

     

    on the other hand .... it boasts of gr8 features like gps , 3.2 MP camera , very slick design etc....

     

    i should have waited before rushing into buying this phone .... :S

    V any idea if iphone is available sim free in India?? last i heard they wer talkin bout tie-in wid reliance...

     

    Actually Reliance has been toying with the idea of a simcard but don't come back to me. I just heard it from someone so its totally not confirmed plus why will it come to Reliance ? LOL

     

    Its gonna go to Airtel or Vodafone any day. On Tuesday Steve O highness will be announcing a few more countries where iPhone will be launched. For Canada its gonna be Rogers, Japan its gonna be docomo and for commies, god knows who

     

     

    apparently reliance is planning to go gsm .... thts the last i heard.... so iphone may go to them

    Thursday, January 10, 2008 (New Delhi):

     

    In a development that could bring peace to the turbulent telecom sector, the government on Thursday decided to allocate spectrum to existing GSM players such as Idea Cellular and also to rival CDMA player Reliance Communications for launching mobile services.

     

    The new entrants, on the basis of eligibility and the priority of application, would be considered thereafter, according to a direction given by Communications Minister A Raja to his ministry officials.

     

    Among existing GSM players, Aircel, Idea Cellular and Vodafone-Essar would be getting the start-up frequency of 4.4 MHz for some circles at the existing price based on Rs 1,651 crore for nationwide spectrum. These companies have been waiting for spectrum to start GSM mobile services in some of the circles to cover the remaining areas in the country.

     

    Besides them, Anil Ambani-led RCom that currently offers CDMA-based services, would also get GSM spectrum under the government's decision of October 19 last year to allow companies to launch operations with both the technologies.

     

    The GSM operators have challenged the dual technology decision in telecom tribunal TDSAT and also in Delhi High Court but haven't been able to get a reprieve.

    17k grey market and 197799 official .... i went official :D

    you had a HTC TYTN,didn't you????

     

     

    plz dont remind me of tht .... the phone fuked me over .... i officially hate HTC .... 1st the touch had an issue where i could not hear the other party calling using the handset....

    and then i bought the tytn and tht fuked me over by not letting the person calling hear me .... so i dumped tht piece of sh*t and bought this sony.... ;)
