  1. About Nasri, Kindly tell me the source? Because, the media and tabloids write whatever they want to. There is hardly any truth in it.

Your point of respecting Arsenal is precisely what I was trying to say.

How can a player not be allowed to leave? No player can play for a club when his heart is not in it. Every club knows that. So if Cesc wanted to leave. He could have left last season.

Yes, I know he will most likely leave this summer and I feel he is justified to. Although, a move to Barca may not be a great one because he is not even guaranteed a start there.

It has been an old news man & it was me who posted the source... a couple of us have already had a discussion on it... yu might want to flip a couple of pages back.. yu'll find it!!

Cesc wanted to leave last term, Arsenal wanted 45+m, Barca offered 35m... hence no deal!!

Thats the reason he didnt leave... Not the case that if fab wanted to leave, he would have left!!

    EDIT: Samri Nari case here

    &

    Here

  2. HAHA! I get it. So angry rival club rants not here, but over a mug of beer may be would be nice. Someday we could do that. Guess what, I'l sponsor it if it does end up happening. Cheers man. No hard feelings.

EDIT - On a OT note, I love you display pic. Cheers to the herbal life. \m/

Yeah i get what yu say... But the thing here is that once yu start on a small rant... it escalates... I've seen it and have also been a part of it but finally realised that its not the way to go... thats why I like conversing about football here rather than stupid, ill tempered communities online which are filled with pricks!!!

& on the topic of avatar, I hope yu've seen Requiem for a Dream?!

  3. I agree. Most of them are. In case the of Nasri etc, it wouldn't actually be the money. Its the fact that Arsenal doesn't win trophies. They would probably want to play for a club that wins trophies. They might not want to spend the peak of their career playing for a club that doesn't win anything.

I would like point out Cesc's case here. He was offered a better contract by Barca arguably the best club in Europe at present. A sum of 35mil or more was offered to Arsenal, it would have been a record transfer for the club had it fallen through. But it didn't. Cesc ended up honoring his contract and continued staying with the club which got him to the position he is in. Had Cesc taken the offer and moved he would have won a couple of medals this season including the Champions league.

Bro yu are entirely wrong in both the cases... I guess your sources are wrong because otherwise you are just being ignorant on purpose!!

Samir Nasri has been offered a new contract... Nasri wants to sign for Arsenal and they are prepared to offer 90k p/w to him but he wants a 110k p/w salary, same as Cesc's... He is pushing Arsenal to make it 100k p/w as he thinks he deserves a better salary and will get it away from Emirates... Which I guess he deservedly will if he happens to leave... In Nasri's case, lack of trophies aint the case...

Your point on Cesc is just laughable... He wants to sign for Barca than any thing.. but he is also sane and respects Arsenal... He is just being a gentlemen till Barca offers 35m this year... Arsenal is willing to accept 35m this year... Its becasue of Arsenal (Wenger) that Cesc was not allowed to leave last summer... He wanted to sign last year for barca and he openly admitted that!!

If Barca tables 35m, Cesc leaves... that is the word from Arsenal and not me!!

  4. Its got nothing to do with who is new or old. I don't see how that is supporting your argument.

The number of transfers that don't fall through are more than the number that does.

A transfer happens because a club would like to acquire a player's services and the player wants to move to a club do better for himself. Haven't you seen great players committing themselves to a club. I'm sure they had a price too and there are many clubs who could have matched that. But most of the times, its more than just money.

I didnt say that to support my argument... I made a statement... This is not an orkut community where this attitude of dissing clubs on stupid points work... There is a sense of respect amongst each and every one of us who writes here regularly and so is it towards every club.. dont believe me, just put it as a question and see how many people agree with me... so just a piece of advice for future!!

to come back to the point, Some do some dont and some do both (Wayne Rooney)... Its money these days what players are after... very less loyals left... Yu are supporting Arsenal right? Do yu follow Samir Nasri, Gael Clichy, etc??

  5. It would still have to be with the player's consent. At the end of the day, a third party cannot break a contract signed by two parties. So its more like the club pays that money on behalf of the player.

Yu basically chucked the later line of my point and elaborated exactly the same thing... What are yu trying to prove?

  6. Typical Chelsea attitude. :roflroll:

Sometimes, football isn't about money. Its about commitment, honoring your contract etc.

Bro yu are new here... So, yu better put an end to that attitude of yours...

Its not a typical Chelsea attitude Mr.... Its the word of every manager/owner who runs a club... If yu applied yur brains a little more then yu would have realised that almost every transfer happens because every player has a price...

  7. A player never DOES. But he CAN. I agree with everything else you said.

It simply means the money needs to be deposited into the parent clubs account... So a player CAN but NEVER does.. unless its a meagre amount and player is unhappy to continue...

  8. If there is any truth to Chelsea's bid, I would just call it audacious. I don't see Villa leaving at any cost.

There was nothing audacious about it... It simply means Barca value him way more than that... Supposing Chelsea double the amount tomo, Villa will be a blue day after... Every player has a price...

  9. A buy-out clause by definition is the minimum amount that must be paid to break a player’s contract. And its an agreement signed with the player, so it basically means that is the amount a player has to pay to buy out of his contract. But in most cases, since the club is interested in acquiring the services of the player, they end up paying it. I don't think it means anything else.

Wrong... A buy-out clause by definition is exactly what yu wrote... But, a club still has the option to sell a player at an amount that suits both the parties... And in most cases thats how the deal is done... These 'ridiculous' buy-out clauses are signed so that the parent club has a leverage while negotiations... Just like mel said, if club is willing to pay 45+million for a 29 yr old Villa, the deal will be done.. No questions asked!

Edit: a player never buys himself out of a contract... The club who wants his signature does...

It does not mean anything like that. Even if a club matches that fee, they can still reject the bid if they don't want to sell him. That is how it works, its got nothing to do with big or small fishes.

Very wrong... If the value of the buy-out clause is matched then there's nothing much a club can do... Legally, the player has been bought out of his contract... Now, its upto the player whether he wants to sign a contract with that club who has approached him... If not, he can reject!! But the club has no say in it..

For a 1:1 example, Phil Jones to ManU!! 16.5m buy-out clause triggered by ManU.. Blackburn couldn't do sh*t even though Liverpool were willing to pay ~22m because Jones wanted to move to OT and not Anfield!!

  10. 7 Creatures of the Transfer Window

    1) The Eternal Optimist

Don't worry about a thing, 'cos every seemingly ridiculous signing will be alright. Sold your best striker and replaced him with a dud from the second tier of French football? Eh, it can be hard to score goals in that division, English football will suit him. The Eternal Optimist will spin everything so that it makes perfect sense.

Least likely to say: "We've signed WHO?"

    2) The Football Manager Addict

Never heard of a player and have no idea how he'd fit in at your club? Just find the Football Manager Addict. They'll be able to give you a rundown of his strengths, weaknesses, positional ability, shot strength, attitude, sell-on value and how good they'll be in five years. Who needs to actually watch football anyway!?

Most likely to say: "I know it's not real BUT..."

Least likely to say: "I've renewed my season ticket."

    3) The Apathetic

Jaded by years of transfer windows these people have seen it all. Cynical about any link with a player they take everything with a tonne of salt. Always ready to hose down your excitement about the possibility of a signing, frustratingly they're correct more often than not.

Natural Habitat: On a Higher Plane

Most likely to say: "There's no point speculating until he's pictured with the shirt on."

Least likely to say: "The deal is almost done, I read it on Twitter."

    4) The Committed Pessimist

It’s all going wrong. It is. Perhaps they predicted doom wrongly last year but this time they really mean it. The club is going the wrong way. A slippery slope to nowhere. So you've just signed a world class player? Pah, what's world class these days? He could get injured on the first day of the season and then what? A new keeper, two defenders, a midfielder or three, and a top class striker are essential to avoid the fate they are predicting – and even then it will be a close run thing.

Least likely to say: "We're looking good for next season."

    5) The In-The-Know

This creature literally thrives at this time of year and is lesser spotted outside of it. They won't reveal why they know what they know but they'll tell you that they know it. They just know y'know. They know what you don’t know but would like to know yet they never know anything that would be boring to know as that wouldn’t be worth them knowing. Now you know.

Least likely to say: "I've no idea."

    6) The Wind-up Merchant

Of course your best player wants to leave, you're a small club. Last season was your peak and so next season will be your trough. Its better you accept it now. You're a selling club. Not in the market for best players. Basically find the most controversial angle on any subject and the Wind Up Merchant will take it to a new level.

Least likely to say: "I could be wrong as it’s just my opinion after all."

    7) The Sufferer of Premature Elation

A lack of football can lead to a certain level of delirium for these people. Just the slightest rumour can result in them proposing formations for next season to suit the player's strengths, making up chants, and contacting the club shop to see what number shirt the player will be wearing.

Natural Habitat: Pacing Any Room Repeatedly

Most likely to say: "Where should I get the tattoo?"

Least likely to say: "It'll never happen."
