  1. 'That was one of the reasons why I wanted to depart Atletico; getting the chance to play in the Champions League was key to me leaving Madrid,'

'If you don't play in the Champions League it's as if you don't exist,' Torres wrote bluntly. 'No matter what you do in your domestic league, it doesn't seem to matter without the Champions League. It's the biggest club competition there is and it's there players really prove their worth.

'If you don't play in it, you can't prove how good you are. If you're fighting it out for the Champions League, your status grows.

    Trophy boy: a youthful Torres

    Trophy boy: a youthful Torres

'If you're not, you're going backwards.'

He left his Football Love, Atletico, for this reason... What should Liverpool expect??

If Chelsea doesn't become a part of CL in future, players like him are bound to leave.... There is nothing wrong in that...

It wasn't even a betrayal, he wanted to sign for Chelsea last year itself...

  2. Oh yeah and I just read Andy Carroll's words, "I'm gutted to be leaving my home town club, but I was told to go. I didn't want to leave that's why I signed a 5 year deal. To put it simply, I was pushed out of the door."

FAIL written all over this transfer... But, I hope he does well... He is a GREAT English prospect...

I wanted him at Bridge too! :fear:

  3. It will be so awesome when we beat Chelsea at Anfield this Sunday. And Agger .... please injure Torres or break his leg or something like that so he cannot play for another several months.

Mind yu, but yu seem to have a very bad attitude towards yur football religion... Praying for a career threatening injury to a striker who used to make yu feel orgasmic just weeks (if not days) ago just proves yur footballing character!! My words might be coming off a bit harsh but its Pathetic to read something like this. Just take a look at what Mel has been posting & yu'll understand...

Had Drogba joined City last summer, I would have been mad, yes, but my respect would have been with him... For what all he did for the Club..

Look at what Liverpool has been upto past couple of seasons... Not even in the CL anymore & mid-season position this time is also not promising... He was bound to leave and it didn't come out of the blue (pun?)... He was signaling towards his departure since last January... Just get over with it and have some respect at-least for the person who gave Glory to yur club till they imploded in it...

EDIT: Heck, I didn't even see anyone here, from united camp, this bitter when Rooney saga was on... & his thing was way, way worse...

Mel - repped for a well respected post on the 2nd last page :)

  4. Fernando Torres and David Luiz have both signed for Chelsea according to unofficial sources. Liverpool, however, have confirmed that Torres has been sold. Carroll will wear the No9 shirt at Anfield.

Fernando Torres and David Luiz are Chelsea players... SSN!!

Liverpool confirms Torres is a Chelsea player and Carroll a Liverpool player

  5. Still - i wouldnt want United to pay that much for any defender. Torres would be an awesome addition the squad provided he stays fit

Chris Smalling cost united £10m when he was a no-body....

On the other hand, Daivid Luiz is one of the hottest prospect as a defender... So, his ~£21 million price isn't that much hefty...

  6. ^^

sirf randi rona hai sabka.. papa roman apni financial muscle dikha rahe hain un camel shaggers ko. i am all for it.

I guess he proved his vendetta about his involvement/ambition into ChelseaFC... Funding the Torres deal out of his own pockets is like putting it subtlety, "I'm in the game!"...

I was judging his interest in Chelsea, and he proved himself well! :coolspeak:

  7. 8.37pm: "Torres being prepared for an interview on Chelsea TV," writes Fergus McKee. "Just heard from a friend of friend who works for Chelsea TV." We'll try and get the quotes as and when. Thanks, Fergus. Robert Gallo has a take on Torres: "50 mil + pay packet for a 27 year old striker? Total Bonkers. If any one at Chelsea is reading this column, I am currently in NYC and have a lovely bridge I'd like to sell you."

  8. More rumours about David Luiz from Portugal via Bruno Freitas: "David Luiz was grounded for now. Brazilian defender had already embarked on a private flight for London, due to last-minute proposal from Chelsea. However, around 19:30, David Luiz came to pass at the gate at the Portela Airport, in the opposite direction. The player will have received orders to go back. This case has similarities with what happened with Simao Sabrosa, when he received an offer from Liverpool. The information was confirmed by the Maisfutebol source familiar with the process." We'll try to get more on that, too.

What should be made out of this?
