  1. Installed TWRP and ElementalX Kernel on my Nex5 and it was running nice and smooth. Today I installed CM12 Nightly and it removed my ElementalX Kernel for some reason. Does CM12 not support ElementalX kernel? It was quite helpful in battery saving and I loved the "DT2W" feature.

Hate it when my post becomes the last post on a page. <_<

  3. What exactly do u wanna customize?

For themes and stuff get a rom with Cyanogenmod Theme. For performance customization get a custom kernel like Francos.

Basically u need to install a custom rom/kernel. Head to xda. Would recommend PA rom or slim rom.

Would installing a custom rom wipe data off from my phone?

  4. 5.0 update was perfect for me. But, since I've updated to 5.0.1, there problems have been bugging the hell out of me.

    1) Chrome crashes every minute or so.

    2) I always get a a pop-up kinda thing saying that the Camera app is not working (until I restart; which temporarily fixed my camera app).

    3) The phone in general seems to have gotten a bit slow/laggy.

    I guess I'll have to do a reset. :\

  5. ^ I will say go for the Cooler Master N200 because of its cleaner design although it is a more compact design and cannot support anything bigger than µATX motherboards.

There are not a lot many options at that price and these are some of the better designs. Just talk to Mahesh once about availability of the Cooler Master cabinets.

When do you plan to go to Nehru Place and purchase?

I'll be going there on 3rd, i.e., Friday. Shall I call him on the same day and inform him that I would be coming to his shop or is he always there?

  6.

Should have one in the front or the rear, head over to Antec's landing page for more details.

If I decide not to go for Antec. Which one of these would you recommend?

    1) CM N200 (http://www.snapdeal.com/product/cooler-master-n200-advance-cabinet/948780635?utm_source=earth_feed&utm_campaign=21_56)

    2) CM K281 (http://hardwire.in/cases-coolingfans/1216-coolermaster-k281-mid-tower-case.html)

or if there is some other cabinet(better) at same or lower price, I'd be more than happy to go for that.

Both come with 2 pre-installed fans and seem big enough.

  7.

You live in Delhi na?, then why not get the MSI model?, it is the best model of the R9 270x and Delhi is the only place which has some decent prices for MSI models, everywhere else MSI model commands a premium of 2k+ over the ASUS model.

Here in Mumbai only the XFX version is avliable, so have to wait for MD to restock :|

Wow. I didn't know MSi was priced less here. :P

Guess I'll check that out in a few days. I'm only confused between ASUS and MSi and whichever is cheaper will end up being my choice.

EDIT: I'm more inclined towards ASUS only because of the free Battlefield 4. :P

  8.

The R9 270x is out of stock there and will take 1 month to restock, i inquired myself from MD Computers

AMD Cards are nearly out of stock everywhere, they are selling like Hot Cakes.

The HIS model you see there was avaliable recently and got sold out in 2days :|

I talked to him today aswell. :P

He said they will be available by 20th January. I'm looking at other options. If I don't get a decent deal anywhere, I'll have no other option but to wait. :\

    @bneck I think the 650 or HD7770 will suffice.

  9.

    1) Cabinet: Antec X1 - Rs. 2,489
    2) Motherboard: MSI 970A - Rs. 5,499
    3) CPU: AMD FX 6300 - Rs. 7,699/7,450
    4) GPU: MSI/ASUS R9 270X - Rs. 15,000-18,000
    5) PSU: Corsair VS550 550 Watt - Rs. 3,450
    6) RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB - Rs. 4,900
    7) HDD: WD BLUE 1TB - ~Rs. 4,100
    8) PEST: Cooler Master - ~Rs. 200 ( Won't be buying a cpu cooler for a month so this will have to do till then :P )
    9) Mouse: HP KY619AA - Rs. 369
    10) Keyboard: Dell 104 - Rs. 445

Will a 600VA UPS (my current one) be sufficient for this rig or should I go for 800VA? The one I'm using right now runs like a badass though. :|

  10.

It is true but find out about those charges, if it exceeds ~1000/- quid, you might as well get BattleField 4 from Taco Bell and just pay for internet charges instead of the games price under shipping.

    Shipping cost is Rs.210. :P

So, if I'm purchasing R9 270X, the total cost would be Rs. 16,709 (including shipping) which seems to be a great deal for a budget card along with BF4.

  11.

Hmmm... Okay. Will have to take cognisance of that.

But where did you see pricing of the Cooler Master N200?

It is worth it that is why it is priced so and it ain't available in Nehru Place (only Antec is), there is nothing like a good and cheap SMPS.

If you cut down on this prepare for problems later.

It is noisy but till March you won't need a third party fan. In-fact most cheap coolers are just as bad if not worse than the stock pieces.

    N200: 1) Snapdeal - Rs. 3,495

    2) Amazon - Rs. 6,429

    N300: SMC - Rs. 3,275

As far as PSU goes, I think I'll go for the Antec 550W PSU instead. I just can't go for Seasonic right now. Maybe later.

For the CPU fan, I was thinking about getting the Cooler master Hyper 212X cooler as it has received great reviews and seems like the best bang for the buck cooler ATM.

EDIT: I found this combo at this site.

    http://www.snapdeal.com/product/antec-x1-cpu-cabinet-with/1391212?pos=12;64

Is snapdeal reliable? The combo seems decent and it saves me Rs. 239.

  12.

    Suggested changes.

    1) I'll try to fit in the N200 instead of Antec if the budget allows as there is a ~Rs.1,000 bump from Antec to CM.

    2) Seasonic seems a bit too expensive and I have heard good things about Corsair PSUs. Should I go with Corsair or Antec? Does it depend on the cabinet I'm choosing?

    3) The cpu fan that comes with the fx 6300 or any amd cpus in general suck and are quite noisy (afaik). So a cpu fan might be necessary in future.

Please suugest a good PSU below 4,000 (if possible). I've heard a lot of people say that 550W would barely make it.

  13. So, this is my final built. Please let me know if any changes are required or if there is anything that I'm missing out. It's a budget 45k low-middle level gaming pc.

    1) Cabinet: Antec X1 - Rs. 2,489
    2) Motherboard: MSI 970A - Rs. 5,499
    3) CPU: AMD FX 6300 - Rs. 7,699/7,450
    4) GPU: MSI/ASUS R9 270X - Rs. 15,000-18,000
    5) PSU: Corsair VS550 550 Watt - Rs. 3,450
    6) RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB - Rs. 4,900
    7) HDD: WD BLUE 1TB - ~Rs. 4,100

    9) Mouse: HP KY619AA - Rs. 369
    10) Keyboard: Dell 104 - Rs. 445
    TOTAL COST: ~ Rs. 45,550.
I'll use my old DVD Reader as I'm a little tight on budget.
The only problem right now is the graphics card. I can't find a good deal anywhere. Will be visiting Nehru Place, hope to find a good deal there.
  14. Ruhan, go with dad? :| School going kid?

    1) Dad won't allow me to take my car to Nehru Place.

    2) Paise tu dega kya?

    3) Will need a hand to carry all the stuff and my bro will not be here.

    Anything else? :spank:

  15.

Let me know when you go, I will give you a number and if possible will accompany you as well.

I'll be visiting them on 3rd sometime after 2pm I guess (just to check on the prices. I'll visit them again in mid-January with my dad for the purchase). I'll PM you my number and you can forward me that number and let me know if you would be joining aswell.

Also, I checked out this review and comparison,

    http://us.hardware.info/reviews/5003/five-amd-radeon-r9-270x-tested-asus-msi-sapphire-and-xfx

Looks like the MSi beats the ASUS by a small margin. Let's just hope it's cheaper aswell. :P
