So looks like Govt. is gonna kill the debt/gold/sovereign/conservative/hybrid/target etc funds. Basically every Non-equity mutual fund. As per the latest amendment, any fund which has less than 35% in domestic equity will axed to STCG. No LTCG. And for debt funds, STCG is linked to slab rates. Ek jhatke me category khatam. Hopefully this is a miscommunication in the amendment. Won't be surprised if it isn't!

There are 5 Japanese consulates in India: Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai. Japan embassy demands that an applicant's work and residential address needs to be in the same region i.e. if someone is from Delhi (all identity proofs have Delhi address) but works and lives in Bangalore, they can't apply to either of the Delhi or Bangalore embassy. VFS doesn't even accepts the docs in this case. If you say office is in BLR but WFH then they demand WFH stated on the NOC from the employer. Only way they will accept the application is if you provide address change acknowledgement slip for something like Aadhar to match your residential with your work region and then apply from BLR. Who puts the address of a house they rent on identity proofs? Other option is to call Japanese embassy before application, get exception and during your visit to VFS, make them call to VFS and convey the same. Obviously this is not foolproof, needs a stronger reason. Now Japanese embassy is still accomodating but the damn VFS acts like they have the power. They reject straight away to call embassy or reject docs straight away if WFH. They even called the host of the airbnb to verify the booking! This is not directed by Japanese Embassy. Hence, dummy bookings won't work! Use Booking.com to make refundable bookings. Such a sh*t show especially with the kind of docs they ask in the first place.

VFS has to be the stupidest Visa aggregator and Japanese visa (alongside Austrian) has to be the most sense less.

Guys, address change application for DL in Delhi has been pending on approval of endorsements since 24th Jan. Have raised grievance, tried Twitter. Nothing works. Where to escalate this?

Suggestions for home security cameras? Don't need many, pack of 2 will suffice. Requirements: - Local Storage (7D rolling will work, SD card is good enough) - Cloud storage (nice to have but not a necessity) - Basic features like presence alerts, 2-way communication etc. - For inside use, not looking for water proof. - Not bulky and don't want a separate server box. - Ideally, would prefer battery powered to not relly on grid/backup at all. - Minimal subscription. If the game is being copied to disk at the same time as the download, you might experience slow downloads. You can pause the update and resume it once the main game has been copied. If the speed is extremely slow then check network settings and see what the system tells you about the connection speed.

If you are a complete noob, you should stick to Index funds. Ex: Nifty 50, Nifty Next 50, Nifty Midcap 100, S&P etc. ETFs are better because of lower expense ratio but once your corpus becomes large, it becomes difficult to redeem at correct value because of bid/ask spread.
