Take it as a rule of thumb, under no circumstances buy a TV from Sony which belongs any lower than the 900 series. Both of these are bad, your dark scenes will always be greyish.

I have been enjoying my x90H without any DSE or banding and it's sad that you received bad units twice. But great that you are getting a refund. I didn't see CX going for 97k as you said but it was going for 1.05L after cashback. Go ahead and try to get that price again, you will have to wait till next Diwali to get C1 anywhere close to that price.

In the case of an infection, virus would have already made its way in and body would have already started to create antibodies. Vaccine won't help.

In Sony sets, it's quite easy. Game mode basically just turns the motion processing/contrast enhancer/black adjust/noise reduction off, you can go into the picture settings while in Game mode and customise all the other settings like you want and it won't affect input lag. Or conversely, just turn motion/film/reality creation/noise reduction/live color/contrast enhancer/black adjust off in Standard mode and you basically have created the Game mode. I keep Auto Dimming and thus Xtended range and all the others I mentioned off anyway and it looks quite good. In HDR, it just bumps the brightness and Xtended range to Max. For LG, I am not sure. Try doing as I said above and if it doesn't work then you gotta tweak and adjust each as per your liking.

This Ps5 delay has been too much. I sold off my Pro quite a while back (a year maybe, wasn't playing much) and now that I have time, Ps5 is not coming out. Was really hoping that I can pick up and play GOT, TLOU2. And also Witcher 3, played the the heck out of Witcher 2, was excited that it will get a next gen patch. And also RDR2, I hope it gets a patch too.

I am not a competitive gamer by any means but in game mode and with local dimming turned to auto/min, I didn't experience any sort of additional lag as compared to having it turned off.
-
In. Gonna be doing this for the first time ?

Bro, I honestly don't think you know how Local Dimming works. It's like you don't even try to go through the details of any reputed source and still make your opinions. It's a FALD. It's will have LED arranged throughout the screen. Local Dimming changes the brightness of a zone made up of a subset of these LEDs, so producing different brightness in different zones. Even if you turn it off, there will rows and columns of LEDs. Just like when you use a torch, the light is concentrated at the source and disperses as it goes further, the same will happen with the LEDs, hence the light will be concentrated along a row and column. That's how the technology works, there is no deceit. Generally the no. of zones don't scale linearly with size, the 55" sets end up having more zones per inch of the screen as compared to 65" and hence the latter can be less uniform. That said, in context of x90H, it's not much noticeable in 55/65". Anything you can notice by purposely throwing such content at it, you are meant to have it. That's the technology and you should have bought an OLED instead.

So now I have done extensive testing on my x90H/x900H, I haven't able to throw any content at it in which the bandings are much noticeable. Be it HDR10/DV/Non-HDR. There are only very few cases where you might have an non-uniform white screen being displayed as source at low brightness and only then can I notice some bands, but not without pausing the content. Also, I spent almost 4-6hrs with my brother's 65" x90H. Played on Switch, One X and Pro. I didn't get vertical bars during boot-up, not noticeable while panning the camera over the sky. I honestly, didn't see anything I didn't expect. I haven't had any issues with the x90H. So it might just be a dud unit if anyone is having a problem with it. Seeing that 55CX was available for as low as 1.1L after cashback, anyone who doesn't watch or leave DTH content on for hours, go ahead and take it. If you can find it for the 1.1-1.2L. Otherwise I can recommend x90H, if you get it for <90k. If the cashback is not available and it's stuck at 1.05L, then probably CX will be too, you should just wait for them to drop in price again.

Asking for a friend: He needs a good wireless mechanical keyboard for Macbook i.e. keys should be labelled for Apple devices. Thanks in advance.

I am not sure if 1440p 120hz will be good in your case because Ps5 will send non-upscaled signal to the TV. And the upscaling will be done by the TV itself. While in the case of 4k 120hz, even if it's native 1440p, Ps5 will do upscaling either by checkerboarding or something else and then send it to TV. And I am sure Ps5's upscaling will be heck of a lot better than the TV's. So you may lose out on quality.

Bro, there is no point in trusting anymore. You wait long enough and one day or another, it will be released. No use of any insider info. or sources.

I don't get extreme banding with my set. And same is with my brother's set. Have watched HDR/DV/Non-HDR content and only in a very few scenes where brightness is quite low, I was able to notice it but had to pause the video to do that. But if you have daily driven an OLED before, it will be noticeable. Plus, one user here got quite horrific banding on his, maybe a QC issue but something to know about.
-
I think A9G will accept the 1440p, 120hz signal and then itself upscale it to 4K 120hz, just like it does for every other source. You can't just display 1440p's worth of screen.

I don't stream it. Comedy Central actually ran the last few seasons including the latest one. Too bad it's not on any platform.

Bro, I have checked bright as well as dim content, they aren't visible. There are a couple of pics, one of the toothpaste and the other of Impractical jokers with blue backdrop and even then I didn't see any bars. I have seen high bit-rate HDR content, YouTube, downloaded 4K gaming content. It still doesn't stand out at all to me. Actual gaming, I won't be able to test till Ps5 comes out. I will recommend you to go full commando at Sony and try to get a refund.

Such an intense crash. Thank god Grosjean is fine. Halo and safety gear really saved him.

Clicked a few pics of my x90H, ranging across different scenes. Let me know if it feel any different. Plus, it looks more uniform in reality as compared to the pics. https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=1dM5c2nT5QoEQ5BbiXKbArDuRbrfr28b1

Bird has x95G, so can't compare to that. Plus RTINGS doesn't source it's TV from Sony, they buy it from a regular shop. Could be that quality control is not as good here. I don't see the bars during TV shows, generally I watch CC or some sports. For gaming, have to wait for Ps5.
-
I don't have a console now. So if you have any other source like something from Netflix/Amazon or Youtube in which you experience this, then let me know. Will try it out and post pics.
-
On my x90H, I can make out the bars below 35% but post that the bars start disappearing. Post 70% they are hardly visible. So I think @NitroNeo might have his TV setup at low brightness and gamma. I haven't done gaming on the TV yet but during normal usage, I haven't ever seen these bars.

@hope sources revealed ?

Been following Pradeep Poonia for quite some time, glad that all of this is getting some traction finally.

When Ps4 came out, I was able to get it by Nov end through a friend who was coming to India. Could have done that this time as well but warranty concerns are real this time. Sad.
