  1. Amazon prime (Sony's Android app) has been giving me trouble for the past couple of days. Suddenly started showing a loading screen on bootup, shows don't go past HD, even scrubbing through timeline is a pain. Is anyone else facing this issue? Is it because of bandwidth cutdown? It's horrendous that it's still going on.
  2. 1) 24 Chicken wings 2) Enough curd to give them a light coat, 1 tablespoon each of amchur, garam masala and red chilli, salt (I added as per taste, so exact quantity might differ). 3) Paste of 3 gloves of garlic + 1 3" piece of ginger. 4) Mix everything, toss in the wings, leave to marinate for 4hrs min. 5) Take 1/2 cup of maida (you can use any flour) 6) Add 1 tbsp of red chilli, pepper. 1/2tbps of salt, mix well (adjust for taste). 7) Take the wings and completely squeeze out the marinade, just a light cover (don't want excess maida to stick), toss in maida. Light coat. 8) Fry in the oil of your choice, medium high heat, took 6-8 mins for me. Let them rest a bit. 9) Paste of 4 garlic cloves, 4 tbsp soy sauce, 1/4 cup of honey, 1/4 cup of water, 1/2 teaspoon chilli flakes, 1/2 teaspoon red chilli.1 tbsp oregano (if you have seasoning then adjust salt and chilli), 1tbsp cornstarch. Heat it in a pan till it's nice and thick (approx measurements, adjust for taste, leave out a bit of water if you don't have cornstarch). 10) Toss the wings. Sprinkle with any green you like.
  3. Good old Chicken wings, coated in a chilly, oregano, honey sauce. Trying my hand at food photography, this one came out quite well.
  4. Chocolate Mousse cake with a chocolate sponge inside, chocolate ganache filling. Topped with a chocolate mirror glaze. Some corners were cut due unavailability of ingredients like neither did I have the correct type nor enough quantity of biscuits to create an even, thick outer layer. Could have put in more time to make it look better but my family was impatient.
  5. I think he is talking about DA, it's hike has been suspended till 2021. It was due in Jan 2020. So there is about 5-10% loss as compared to what inflation adjusted salary should have been.
  6. Aah, I have given that a thought and listening this always makes a person happy but it's just not practical for me right now. Given the college I am in and the way my experience and academics are going, I am sure of landing a good if not an amazing job but honestly, if I had the option to earn the same with same growth via baking I would take that (I do also love my academic side though) but doing this is very tough, food industry has a lot of challenges. Just not practical. Maybe down the line, I will start from opening a page on insta and taking off from there.
  7. Lol, no. I am a final year engineering student. That's all I do. I just have a passion for cooking, majorly baking. Trying to make every dish as perfect as possible (sometimes it doesn't go well), my skills still have a long way to go. Thanks for the appreciation and wishes.
  8. Couldn't have let Mom's birthday go without a cake. Peach and Mousse Cake with an apple jelly (inside), honeycomb and sugar work.
  9. Made close to 10kgs worth of Chocolate Cream Cheese brownies. A few for my family but majorly for a couple of my neighbours who are in healthcare and have been working non stop, going through daily tests. Just a token of appreciation. Everything was properly sanitized and package was dropped off outside their door for them to collect. Final product:
  10. Same. Have order multiple times from BB and Grofers since lockdown started. Every time the deliver guys comes and puts the stuff on the floor in boxes, stands back wearing gloves and masks. And leaves when the order is collected. Grofers is also sanitizing every product before packaging and then sanitizes the bag too, can smell it as soon as I open the bag.
  11. Where are you from? I only know some in Delhi.
  12. Lol, exactly. If someone really just wants to drink it then add coffee in the cup followed by the milk and mix it gently to keep the foam intact. Otherwise if you go other way round, you will end up using a much bigger cup or you will spill it.
  13. Be aware, I know a couple of distributers and apparently many sellers are offloading fake stuff thinking that people won't bother checking thoroughly during lockdown and if a return comes by, they will blame new fleet of delivery force. I will recommend you to find out some Pharmacy which can deliver or some people about some distributors nearby, the former will be more expensive. Online is always doubtful when it comes to protein of brand names.
  14. Triple chocolate cake. My niece was a little impatient so had to rush the piping.
  15. Thousands of people out on Bandra streets and it's station, asking to go back home. It's horrific. All over the news.
  16. https://preppykitchen.com/apple-pie/ I have been baking and cooking for quite some time, so I just use the recipe just as model, I change the recipe as I go. Also, no matter which recipe you follow, I would recommend you to pre bake your lower crust. Lay it in the bowl, press it gently, cover it with baking paper and add uncooked rice or any dal etc, enough for it to press the base or even the edges. Let it bake for around 20mins at 180-200°C, let if cool slightly. Add apples in, cover with another layer of crust and bake as per the recipe. This makes sure that your bottom crust doesn't go soggy or worse, that it remains uncooked. It's almost impossible to overcook a fruit pie and it's bottom crust so don't worry, take care that the top crust gets just enough time and doesn't go biscuity.
  17. Apple Pie. Not upto my usual standards but did what I can between the online classes.
  18. Exactly, everything looks like 480p pixelated sh*t on Netflix when I watch on my 4k tv while it's relatively much better on 1080p/2k screens of phone and laptop. I think they have put in a max bandwidth for each stream, so 1080p ones obviously get more bit rate.
