The issue I see is that most of the 4k TVs even from LG, Samsung and Sony have a response time in the range of 6-8ms. So that raises the question of which TV to buy for gaming.
A bigger concern for me would be judder, people really don't comprehend how much it can ruin the experience in tv sets.
I always check whether a tv can remove judder at hardware level on all inputs because software based interpolation just isn't that good.
And I read in an early hands on that Mi 4 did exhibit a lot of judder, so if it's noticeable when it's being shown off, it might be a problem.
I would suggest you to wait for the reviews and till you can personally demo it before buying it.

bad even for single player and if you are playing a racing game its even worse.
My Sony x900e does 4k + 8bit HDR at around 30-35ms and to be honest I have never faced the issue of lag in any single player game even if it is racing.
Didn't even experience once in forza 7.
Have played a fair bit of multi player too, unless you are going for being the quickest of the quick or hard core competitive, it doesn't disappoint.
Now I can't compare the tv's at such different price points but if Mi really pulls off 8ms then I think it's pretty great, given hardly any tv goes below 10, unless you go OLED.

Pathetic service from Google, it's just not them, it's pretty much all of them, all they need is your money. Though I did have some good experience with lg and Samsung.
If you stay in Delhi then 1+ is not bad either especially with their centre in Select Citywalk, my friends 1+5 was replaced in 1hr following diagnosis.

What fault did your sister's iPhone x have if you don't mind me asking.
Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk
My sister has been a true Apple loyalist, upgrading her mobile every year and other device every alternate, so I guess Apple made this effort for a returning customer.
Wireless charging was a hit and a miss half the times no matter which charger she used and Face ID didn't work at all, used to get unlock with anyone's face.
New unit is faultless.

That's why you don't buy an expensive phone that too from Google. Atleast with iPhone you still have the peace of mind even the the resale value is no longer holding.

You can't deny but Pixel 2 XL is a great phone, this is not Iphone vs Pixel, but how Google is running services, it's a first I have experienced this with them having bought Nexus and Pixel OG as well. To be honest, Samsung is running pretty good service too, so I don't mind spending money on these brands.

Hi everyone, I need help in how to handle my device's replacement with Google.
I bought Pixel 2 XL on 9th Dec, it's wifi was DOA, filed a replacement, was picked up on 11th Dec, took 2 weeks for a replacement.
After 10 days of use, there was significant screen burn-in and battery was faulty, it took 20 mins for it to charge by 1%. Filed for a replacement again, technician diagnosed it thoroughly acknowledging the fault and took it with him.
It's been 3 weeks now and I haven't received the device, Google Support tells me they don't have stock for White color.
They have really haven't been responding to my emails and lying, I was told 1 week ago that it's been repaired and awaiting shipment but apparently that wasn't the case.
Now today ta representative told me to wait another week for an update, Seriously that will be 4 weeks, and they won't give me a timeline, it could be 3 days or even 3 weeks acc. to him. I wasn't even provided a standby device.
Meanwhile price went down by 5k which is my lose because I had device only for 15 days out 51 it's been since I bought it at Croma, they teared my 1.5k screen guards twice before taking it for replacement and now just are blatantly cheating me after me paying them 65k.
Please give advice how to proceed further, is anyone familiar with consumer court? I am all ears.
Quick follow up for people to know what they are getting in terms of after sales support from Google in India.
So it's been 4 weeks since my phone was sent in for replacement. I received a call last Monday that stock for Panda has come in and will be delivered within a day.
Today I received another call from Google support that since they don't have stock, they would like to give me the just black variant? I was like "Whaaaat?". Acc. to the guy no stock came and wasn't even supposed too and since I had a vocal communication with the last guy, he wasn't able to confirm his words until I told him they record all calls and I can send it to them too because I did record as well.
Result: Been told to wait till next week's Fri for delivery. That will more than a month without a phone on top of the 2 weeks of the first replacement.
When I said I will pay the difference for 128gb model's mrp if they have that in stock, i received a straight no.
Highly disappointed, complaint has been registered with consumer helpline, probably will file a follow up consumer court appeal, these big companies try to get away with anything.
Probably wouldn't hurt as much if Apple didn't upgrade my sister's X from 64 to 256gb free of charge because they didn't have the 64 variant in stock.

Great piece of machinery. Bought it at the right time too, with the taxes being raised.
Whole world is providing exemptions to companies to motivate them to start local manufacturing while our govt. is trying to force them into it with tax increase.
Don't they have common sense to realise that the increased tax will be passed directly to consumers thus hampering them and not the manufacturers? It is more like we are being punished to buy imported stuff rather than the multi nationals.

So My Cousin will be at dubai and i'm kind of pushing him for getting the PS4 Slim any region concern that i should be worried about like NTSC , Pal etc and any Reliable shopping places that might offer me the best price i saw this on souq, is this good ??, i also saw a model with NTSC R3 Region code , is it a good one
There won't be any problems about region locks as ps4s are region free, You don't have to worry about color encoding formats either as India and Dubai both use PAL, even if it;s NTSC, most modern televisions can handle both the formats + these formats are replaced by a digital encode over HDMI so you won't have any problem.
Souq is a reliable website and you probably won't get a better price.
There won't be any problems with DLC as well until both the game and the DLCs are bought from the same region, that is Indian PSN and indian retail discs, blu-rays will run fine as well.

A case in consumer court can be made for this. You don't even need a lawyer to represent you and they are relatively expedient in delivering judgement. I think just filing a case should be enough for them to act quickly if you have the time for it. You can even register a complaint online, I think.
Trying to file a complaint but consumer helpline website always throws an error once I press submit.

Man, that is some stupid service. Sorry to hear that.
I'm not familiar with the legal processes, but I would at least raise some hell on social media and tag all official Google channels, unless you've done that already. These days, that gets some attention.
It was a different product and a different company, but posting the request reference no. on twitter really helped me get a quick replacement for my Dualshock 3 which came with the PS4.
I am tweeting to all Google accounts since weeks. Early on, Made by Google used to reply and asked me about my Case ID in the DMs but all the help they gave me was in terms of "Please be patient, Google India is doing all they can". Had same conversation many times and now they have stopped replying to me. Asking me to be patient when I paid 65k to them?
I can't take this tension, already have my plate full with Real&Complex Analysis and Discrete exams.
Seriously, I didn't expect this at all, I am not gonna let this go easy, asking my lawyer friends for suggestions, if Google delays it even further, for god's sake I will extract an internship out of them.

Got the monitor from IVG. I dont enjoy playing in TV!
Is there a topic here where people can request others who might be going/coming from abroad to get consoles for them? Need a ps4 pro. My UK contact won't be able to come for a few months.

I bought them from Nike Town, Oxford Street, London for £140. Seemed a bit expensive but couldn't resist them.
Wasn't easy, had to visit tons of stores, took whole day. They themselves are now out of stock.Would be difficult to get them in India.
You can try asos.com, last time I checked they had the Gold bullet version in stock, they ship to India but beware nowadays they get anywhere from 10-30% customs stamped on them later. Have to be extremely lucky to dodge customs.

i am also looking at Pixel 2 Xl as i am in need of a good phone, that has good camera.
So I am testing my sister's Pixel 2 XL before I make the purchase and I haven't faced any problems with the screen. Camera is just fantastic, period.
Just one thing, I have Airtel V-fiber 40Mbps broadband and P2 XL just doesn't register more than 20Mbps, neither does my friend's Pixel 2 on his own Airtel network.
So if anyone has a Pixel 2 or 2 XL, please do a speedtest and let me know if it works fine with your ISP. Especially if someone has Airtel V-Fiber.

I checked out Pixel 2 XL at my nearest Croma and upon thorough side by side comparison with a S8 and 5T, I mean I used a Color Detector I made in my ELL lab in college. Freaked some people out.
I observed similar delta values in all three.Only difference was the Pixel 2 showed variation in Blue vector space while the other two showed in Red/Green vector spaces.
Maybe Pixel's issue was more pronounced in previous batches but in new one's it isn't a problem.
I inspected this on a device which they have had on showcase for 3 weeks (same IMEI) and there was no burn in as well despite being on continuosly.
I understand there might still be variation in different units but you get a 2yr warranty. So it's upto you whether you want the best phone in the market right now or you were put off with earlier issues.
Also, Croma is providing 8k off on MRP and further 8k cashback on HDFC Credit Cards.
Flipkart is giving 13k off albeit on all cards but as usual all the models went out of stock at once at 12:01 AM despite sale still going on (shady tactics).
Croma is the better deal technically.
I might buy 5T if I can get some good pics out of it otherwise Pixel it is.

The blue screen tint still exists in the XL, it's a hardware issue. I was also going to pull the trigger on XL but having seen it in action convinced me otherwise. Admittedly, it's not as bad as it sounds because most people will not notice it but the fact is you should not have such an issue on a premier flagship phone after spending 60k plus on it.
That is true, I am just gonna pop in my nearest store and have a look at for myself. Sale runs till tom, so got time to decide. I want a good camera and that's where 5T falls short.

Nope. Although the OnePlus 5 is the better device in my books. The 5T camera is a real downer.
I don't click too many pics per se but when I do, I expect to capture a great one and that's why I am reluctant to go with 5T with it's HDR issues. It's bad that no android smartphone is ticking all the marks for enthusiasts.

Pixel XL has a terrible screen. You'd be better off picking up pixel or s8. 5t isn't bad either but oneplus support is terrible.
I have seen my relative's S5,6,7 and even 8 slowing down randomly while opening apps or going through chrome. So no samsung.
Pixel is too small and too much bezel for me. I am still rocking my Oneplus One (invite bought), so Oneplus isn't a problem. And many reviewers are saying Pixel XL screen is now better after update and was just blown out of proportion.
Anyways I just wanted to know is Pixel really worth 25k more than 5T? I don't want to buy and miss my savings later.

Hey everyone, I need to buy a new phone. With my overstretched budget, I can afford a Pixel 2 XL 64gb off Flipkart sale. But is it better getting 5T 64gb or even 128gb and saving all that dough. I know both are fantastic with Pixel obviously being better. But is it worth extra 26/23k over 5T? Please I need a lots of advice, help me.
Anyone?

Hardly any TV manufacturer mentions about the device's native capability to reduce judder, they will throw terms like 1000XR or Motion Plus to convince you that it doesn't have it but that's just software Interpolation, they are basically software emulating frames so the tv's native refresh rate matches with the input's. That may rectify experience sometimes but most of the times it just adds extra lag.
You would have to look for reviews like rtings.com, they do pretty good analysis but I doubt that they will do for Mi.
Best bet would be personal demo because everyone is affected differently by judder.
Now keep in mind that Judder is majorly pronounced over 24p signals sent over 60p/60i, given most games will run below 60p on consoles on a native refresh rate of 60 of Mi, you should definitely check it out before buying.
Mi might be lucky to produce a judder free display.
