18% GST.
Phone manufacturers also get incentives under PLI scheme, right ?
Cost advantages are never passed down to the customers. Once you pay a price, you never pay less than that.

Lol prices. Unless there's like 20k cashback, they're insanely overpriced.
BC made in India and Indians ki gaand maari.
Not happening.
My limit for S22+ was 70k. That was after much deliberation too.
Will settle for S21 series if they go on deep discount or just find something cheaper instead.

Also, Mint is reporting that India is not getting the 8/126GB variant. S22U with 12/256GB is 1.10L and 12/512GB is 1.19L and only the white burgundy and black colours to be launched here.
I thought Samsung released all of their variants and colors in India though?
Strange pricing and availability by that logic.

LIC runs because some Chacha/Mama/Dada/Nana/Fufa/Bhatija/Neighbourhood ka uncle shoves it down your throat via blackmailing. I had a policy which was shoved down my throat when I got my first job I paid it for a couple of years and then just stopped paying the premium and will wait till it matures and get my pro rata money back. That uncle stopped talking to my dad because I stopped paying the premiums
LIC might do great in future.
But I don't want to invest in a company which might undergo severe disruption.
As more and more of the younger generation start getting access to better and cheaper investment assets while getting more financially literate, I assume the LIC will start losing its current moat which is basically, distribution.
Again, it might turn out to be a multibagger but I have better options to put my money in.

Yup, I do have to submit a bill though, and they have 2 year blocks. Claimed for the S21U in the 20-21 block, now gonna claim 5he S22U for the 22-23 block. This phone should be good enough for the next 2 yrs.
Is this reimbursement part of the annual salary? or maybe CTC?
Or this over and above?
Because if it's the latter then I need to renegotiate with my company.

Flagships would always be priced like this anyways... And I would've gone with the plus if only the cameras weren't a step down from the ultra but that's the ploy
S22/22+ still have great cameras as per early reviews. I don't think there will be much difference unless you do pixel peeping for those beard-face selfies.
I just don't like S22U's shape, seems uncomfortable, excessive screen curve and quite heavy. Also, I don't really need the S-pen and I can't trust the ingress protection in case the pen is misplaced.

S22: 70k+
S22+: 82+
S22U: 1.1L+
If the launch offers aren't decent enough I may be in a pickle price wise....
At best I am expecting 8-10k card discount. Not sure if we will get any freebies.
I know in comparison to the US prices, these look decent (2-5k extra) but that basically means that despite of local manufacturing, we are paying extra for the phones with our already low purchasing power.
70-1.1L can easily be a person's monthly salary over here while $800-1300 is not even close to a decent salary in the US.
I am not sure if I am gonna buy any of these, might as well go with a cheaper device and change it 2 years down the line.

Now I am thinking why I didn't invest more than 1% yesterday. Everytime, lol ?

I've pre-booked the S22U. I hope I can fetch a decent price for my S21U - the US exchange rates have given a slight amount of hope. Any discount from HDFC/ICICI plus my organization's BYOM reimbursement should land me this phone for about 25-30k.
S22U is gonna launch somewhere around 1.1L, right? Prices aren't out yet.

-4.5% here too. Good that I sold all my BOB holdings on Friday. Have some cash to play with. Will wait and see what lord Putin decides.
If Ukraine's ambassador's words are to be believed then things might just calm down.
Not sure if Putin will roll back on his demand on permanent ban for entry for non-NATO members.
Be it inflation or fed hike or war, market just looks for reason to dip when valuations are running high. Another 10% dip and deep value will emerge ex: look at ICICI, awesome results, keeps dropping.

A good thing is that Regalia is now shifted from 5% cashback to 5x points. Also, if anyone has Infinia it should matter much coz the cap is good even for big purchases. I still think Infinia is the best card in India.
Edit: just saw Magnus and that does look tempting.
True, for someone with Infinia, it might not matter much but overall I still feel Magnus is better.
Although monthly reward is pretty much the same, 25k points = 5000 INR for Axis and 15k*0.33 redemption (average) value for Infinia, main thing is that these 25k Axis points are a bonus and you can rack up 5-10-20x on Travel spends via their Travel Edge portal while for Infinia it is a hard cap of 15k bonus rewards.
P.S. Both cards will continue to earn the normal rewards.
One has to decide based on their spending, if you do >1L/month then Magnus makes sense otherwise go for Infinia as 15k (5x rewards) aren't cliff based.

Nerfed.
Daily Cap is gonna divert so many people away.
Remember this is settlement day. So T+1/2 to be sure but anyway that means high value spends don't benefit.
Also this is only for the bonus 5x/3x rewards, the regular points per 100/150 spending will continue nevertheless.
Seriously considering Axis Magnus now. Even at 10k/year, one can easily make up the fee with the new monthly milestone feature.
Magnus has Priority Pass for guests too!
@LordSpymaster You need to get this.
Any other cards?

Unlimited international lounge visits and monthly milestone offer is amazing.
Beats HDFC. If someone can this as LTF then they should really get it.

Apple does the same. Look where it got them. We as consumers should be smarter!
And people speaking up about it on Twitter is doing exactly that. I would very much just get a cheaper phone rather than deal with false advertising.
Apple cohort is different.
