Seems like people either love or hate this game.

My friend gave it a shot and refunded it immediately. Others are spending 500+ hours in it.

LOL the same applies to me though gladly I got the game through PS+. There is definitely a good game underneath all the messiness but I ain't got the patience and time to deal with all that.

Maybe one day. The new Monster Hunter stories game (Can't remember the full name) looks sick though cause of the art style and turn based mechanics. Switch exclusivity is a bugger

I usually agree with most of his reviews, except a few (like Death stranding) because he is very consistent with his views and I like his essay style videos.

Most of his dunkviews are not parodies.. even tho he jokes a lot, he gets his point through.

That's where it doesn't work for me. He is strongly opinionated and most times his views doesn't align with mine. Angry Joe's game reviews are more up my alley. Even Jeremy Jahns is pretty good for me though he's not frequent on game reviews.

Great! Glad to be of help :)

One small thing, the max volume out of the speakers is very low, even when everything is maxed out (from PS5 system's menu and the volume knob). It's pretty good when connected to my laptop though.

What can be done in this case? Audio noob here but is amplifier the solution?

Finally someone who's bold enough to talk about the issues with this game :good:

Enemy variety was the only thing which bugged me, but even that wasn't that big of a deal. This game is a solid 9/10 for me. Dunkey's reviews seem more like parodies than actual reviews. I never took them seriously.

You can use a USB DAC with a 3.5mm out and connect your speakers to it. I'm using the Logitech GX Pro wired headphones which come with a USB DAC and it works with the PS5. The console will detect it as USB headphones, but you should be able to connect speakers with a 3.5mm connector to it and it should work fine.

Not sure if this will work - but you try using those check USB C to headphone jack phone adapters if you have one handy. The above should definitely work, but the USB-C to heaphone adapters are 500-700 and a decent USB DAC (Creative/Logitech) will be about 2k

Okay So I got speakers + USB adapter for 1300 so thanks!!

30 fps mode seems like a slideshow. Not going back to that even if it has 100x better graphics.

This. Even as a lifelong console gamer, going from 60 to 30 is too jarring. Insomniac's approach of providing 60FPS with freakin RT is kinda spoiling us lol

If you are new to fpses with controller, I would advise you to try a lot of single player fpses first.

Else you won't have a great mp experience. Specially in games like 2042.

Doom is the only SP FPS which really interests me so maybe I'll pick it up when it goes on sale.

    Get a kb/mouse connector.

I tried to connect my regular mouse but it seems to require an adapter for kb/m support(on PS5). DS is fine I guess.

That is the general consensus, yes.

The maps and general vibe is much better in BF1. Also, the gunplay in BFV is super lethal, with a super short Time To Kill, which may you find to be better or worse (I personally like it more) ,so the moment to moment gameplay can be very different between BF1 and BF5.

    I guess I'll give BF1 a chance too.

I would suggest playing BF1 before this

It was part of PSplus collection & an awesome & better campaign critically

Is BF1 also better in terms of MP, and more active? I'm not really interested in their SP offerings. I just want to get my hands dirty with BF MP before 2042 hits.

  10. I tried this as my first Battlefield game today. The game starts in an epic way. Directly jumps into the horrors of war without even putting up the menu lol. It looked really really good.

I wanted to try out the MP. I am horrible at FPS games because of my shitty aim but I had fun in the 2 matches I played. They consisted mostly of me running around like a blind idiot and shooting anything that moves but still I see the appeal. The game has a good tutorial for beginners which really helped. It was hard to coordinate anything with randos but I can see how this would be a blast with friends, only if I had any who were into the game atm lol

Edit: IVG's search functionality is still pretty much useless. Got this thread via a Google search.

Assuming there is no 3.5mm headphone jack in your monitor either, then you'd probably need some alternative audio routing device likes this:

Okay just to clarify, use a HDMI to HDMI/3.5mm splitter which then goes into the speakers?

Most cheap speakers on Amazon use 3.5mm input so I'll need a splitter with 3.5mm out, something like this: https://www.amazon.in/SaiRetail-Optical-Toslink-Extractor-Splitter/dp/B07H94D77V which is ~4.5K. I'm not aware how these weird S/PDIF/Optical connectors work.

Is there a cheaper alternative, except headphones that is?

  12. So I bought a new monitor which doesn't have in-built speakers nor audio in or out, just HDMI/DP ports. It's connected to my PS5.

What's the best and cheapest way to get audio out of this setup?

  13. Finished the game today. LOVED IT! Definitely one of the most enjoyable games I've played in years. This is what video games should be all about. Pixar level presentation coupled with top of the line addicting combat, what more do you really need to create a gem?! My first R&C (technically not the first since I played one on the PS2 so long ago I don't even remember) and I'm a fan.

Looking forward to where it goes from here. Rivet and Ratchet both are awesome.

Also goes without saying Insomniac are technical wizards. I can't even begin to fathom what they will do with Spiderman 2.
