  1. Though KL did not deserve a walk in, I would have still tried him instead of bihari, for sole reason vihari just never gives me any confidence. Hopefully he goes on to make some big runs.
He has a 60 average in FC and he does tries to stay on wicket as long as possible. With Pant and Jadeja as attacking options I don't mind Vihari playing steady at 4 or 5. Rahul is a disaster as opener in tests and I don't see him playing anywhere else. If Vihari fails again then he might be replaced by Rohit next match.

  2. Excellent selections. Considering the availability of players very sensible decision from team management after long.

So glad Vihari stays in the team and KL Rahul didn't get a walk in. This team can give a real tough fight if the play positive and not go in the shell. The moment you get into a blockathon mentality against this brilliant Aussie attack the chances of you giving a Nick behind increases a lot. Except for Pujara who should play like a wall others around him should look to score runs on any bad balls available. History has shown we did well against Aussies when we played Positive. a65b74aef668f2390e10f4a7ead5a532.jpg

  3. Saw  this on Netflix today. Somehow it escaped my attention and that's surprising as I really like John Travolta since Broken Arrow and he is absolutely great in this.
Extremely well made movie. If you are a sucker for murder mysteries like me then you will definitely enjoy this. Won't say much as it can lead to spoilers. It's a bit on the dark side.

Fair warning - Don't watch it with family.

  4. So, our team was humiliated and fans are seething with anger. Completely justified. 4-0 predictions are quite right to make at this moment by everyone. I don't expect Virat to stay back and he shouldn't, family should always come first and at the end of the day this is just a cricket game. Moreover he alone can't win matches.

Let's be honest. I am pissed, really pissed like all of you. But, this was one of the best fast bowling spells I have seen in my 30 years of watching test cricket. Credit where it is due. Aussies deserve this win.

By the way just heard Shami is out with fractured hand so his tour is done. All luck has deserted for the moment.

Now, what can be done. From 36 we can surely only go up now. First, the selections.
This would be my starting 11 next match barring injury.

    1. Mayank
    2. Gill
    3. Pujara
    4. Rahane
    5. KL Rahul
    6. Vihari
    7. Pant
    8. Ashwin/Jadeja ( depending on pitch)
    9. Bumrah
    10. Siraj/Natarajan
    11. Umesh Yadav.

My club team got out for 79 few weeks back in a T20 match which is our lowest score till date. We were damn angry, embarrassed and frustrated. But, we bounced back in the next match.
To think just because these players are paid in millions they won't be hurting or not embarrassed is simply rubbish. These are proud professionals and they must be hurting more than all of us. I wish at this time we had a Gary Kirsten or John Wright to act as a father figure and lift the moral but what we have is a 'Go Smash them Boys' coach. Can't be helped.

We need someone like Sachin or Dravid or even Gavaskar to speak with the team and encourage them. Even Ganguly the BCCI head should speak with them and let them know it's ok. It's a game. sh*t happens. You fell down at times, how you get up is what matters. Show the spirit. Even if you lose the next game just give Aussies a real hard time.

Remember the monkey gate saga. The whole team was angry and showed a terrific performance next match in Perth where it was deemed impossible for India to win and still we won. 2001 series. Lost 1st test. Follow in second one and then epic Laxman and Dravid happened along with Bhajji magic. This is cricket. Strange things happen like today. Just don't give up.

  5. 4-0 loading.. with Kohli gone and Shami fractured arm and out of series it's inevitable..

In SENA tests we will always be sh*t. Let England come in Jan and we will destroy them at home and Shastri will be again best coack and Kohli best captain.

Also, I hate test cricket. T20 has always been my favourite format [emoji14]

  6. Bumrah has a better defense than Shaw. I don't want to be too harsh on Shaw as he is just 21 and has time to rectify his game if he has the resolve for that.

We just need 250 total to defend in 4th innings. Barring catches dropped we should have a 100+ lead today.

Next match, Gill in for Shaw, Rahul in for Kohli but should bat at 5 and Rahane should bat at 4. Pant in for Saha. Hopefully we don't have any more selection blunders.

  7. Would have been gameover had Bumrah taken that catch :wallbash:

Solid bowling. Dint give anything away. Most of Labushane runs came fro edges or unconvincing shots
He was throwing it back even if he had caught it.. we are still in the game if we take these 2 within an hour.

  8. When you listen to Kohli and Smith the one thing that hits you is their humility, both superstars and loved by millions and still so on the ground.. people keep talking how Kohli is so arrogant and all but he always comes out as so down to earth in his interviews..

  9. Somehow I have the feeling benching Gill and Pant will come back to bite Kohli in the a*s.. Shaw is a walking wicket and Saha simply doesn't cut it outside India.. basically we are batting with 5 batsman and long tail..

Only hope is to win the toss which again isn't gonna happen cos Kohli is unlucky in this .

  10. We will compete in tests even without Virat.
One of the openers should bat well with Pujara & Rahane.

Our fast bowling line up is solid.
Yes, I have hope. Our pace bowling options are fantastic right now. Judging by how pink ball behaved today I am sure Kohli will be tempted to play 4 pacers in Adelaide and leave Ashwin out. Siraj bowled a beautiful line and length, Shami was outstanding, bumrah was relentless and Saini was raw pace. Though Umesh may still play ahead of Siraj and Saini cos of experience.

Gill looked so much better than Shaw who has serious flaws in his technique. However, I believe Shaw will still open with mayank and Gill will replace Kohli in second test. If Rohit is playing third test then upon Shaw's performance in previous 2 tests will decide who stays in team, him or gill.

Also, I was watching the match and when that ball hit Green I was seriously worried. Was so pleasing to see Siraj dropping his bat and running to his aid. IPL and other leagues have seriously bonded players together and the animosity of yesteryears have really subsided.

  11. Honest Thief - that was painfully bad. Not even the usual Liam Neeson entertainment. [emoji20]
Yeah, I left it after first 20 mins cos of the bizzare and absolutely stupid storyline..

Movie going was a wonderful experience, then cinema halls got greedy And raised prices for tickets and extremely overpriced snacks, popcorns etc. Now, I am actually content watching stuff on my tv and soundbar with subwoofer in a dark room gives an awesome experience itself.. Plus don't have to deal with people talking on mobiles and munching snacks loudly in between the movie..

  12. Fielding is still very poor. Thankfully Aussies batting is even worse. We didn't deserved to win today with stupid selection and rubbish batting.. got lucky to get chahal as a concussion sub when in reality he should always start in playing 11. Shami is simply not suited for T20I where he leaks runs like anything.

Hopefully jaddu plays next match as we need him and Pandya to finish games.

Also, Dhawan is past his prime. Give other chances.

  13. Good to see Shardul and Natrajan Step up. We need to let go off Dhawan now and move KL back up. We should open with KL and Mayank with Pandey taking the middle berth.
Agreed. Dhawan is past his date. Also, we need more people like Thakur who can also bat a bit. England and Australia rules cos they bat till 10-11 and our tail starts after 7.
