gold capacitors and all.
Gold painted capacitors Sir, not real-gold capacitors.
Also, for anyone planning to buy the motherboard and mount expensive cooling kit on it
this motherboard’s PCB is extremely thin. It is simply not what you would think when it comes to enthusiast class hardware. When I pulled the motherboard out of the box, as I normally would with one hand, I had real concerns that it would snap in two, or at least damage the motherboard somehow due to how it was flopping around. The motherboard however did not snap in two nor did components come flying off the PCB.Another thing I did not like about the ASRock Z77 Extreme4 was its extremely high operating temperature in our incubated environment. 38C I consider low, 41C to 43C I consider normal for a Z77 Ivy Bridge build. The ASRock Z77 Extreme4 ran at an incubated temperature of 47C at stock clocks.
Even though we had these very high ambient incubated temperatures, the ASRock Z77 Extreme4 performed flawlessly though our Torture Testing that fully loads CPU, RAM, and GPU. It did not miss a beat. It ran without failure for over four days in the sweltering temperature. This is certainly something to like and quite frankly I did not expect it to survive.
The ASRock Z77 Extreme4 is a cheaply built full featured motherboard that will surely find its place with the budget conscious enthusiast looking for a deep feature set and a well designed piece of hardware. There are some caveats to be aware of, but nothing you cannot work around as long as you have those in mind when it comes to cooling.
ASRock motherboard, base minimum quality that I can be recommend to Playstation -- Z87 Extreme4.
Closest ASUS rival -- Z87-K
More expensive ASUS equivalent -- Z87-A
At the easiest he is spending ~10000/- and above for his motherboard, something that his budget cannot sustain at the moment.

That's a fair price given the standard international pricing. Assuming that the disc is not pressed in India, at least it will work on the first attempt.
Even if it is not pressed in India, very expensive for what is on offer.
The last game I got from BANDAI was The Witcher 2 Premium Edition (which was imported) and even after all the freebies it turned out to be a cheaper deal.
+1. Even the DS 1 was priced more than usual price ...this one if they really pricing it so high is taking it right close to console gaming.
Dark Souls was priced ~1499/- which is understandable, 1999/- is ostentatious and unheard of, unless you are Bethesda / cut purse.

^^ Adding Namco Bandai to a growing list of publishers (who have no clue of pricing strategy), will get this title on STEAM Sale in this case.

I think its better to go with z77/z87 at that price. Asrock has some solid motherboards.
- Support is poor
- Hardware QC is not up-to GIGABYTE and ASUS standards
- Their Z77 series motherboards were plagued with issues of damaged sockets on shipment
All in all avoid these motherboards, they are cheaper for a reason. And not good ones.
-
@alpha, the mb you pointed out is Rs 6500 and the one that can help me overclocking is Rs 8k...i think i can stretch Rs 1500 more if it is really worth it.
How is seasonic s12II 620w? will it be sufficient for next gen cards as well?
Really, no point going for an over-clock capable RIG in your budget, stick to the basics. Instead of an over-clock capable motherboard, suggest you go for a more feature rich motherboard for the same price.
The Seasonic S12II 620W is a solid piece, even looking at future needs, go for it.

unique =/=good
even the Xbox One looks unique
If I can say of something else, Sir, you will be mortified. So let us withdraw before tempers flare.
Also, I had quite pointedly compared it only for the battery, no other handset, not even these 5" behemoths can pack the battery in a frame that MOTOROLA had gifted the Razr Maxx / HD series.
Touché.
-
and way behind everything else

No it still looks good and the build is unique (kevlar back), in the hardware department it lacks but then I am not comparing it for that.
-
MOTOROLA Razr Maxx still on top then (w.r.t. battery capacity and standby time).

But regarding lower power consumption, it isn't true for desktops. If you read tom's hardware review, it clearly says Haswell draws more power than Ivy. (7 W more during the test).
Overall power numbers will slide in Haswell's favour simply because of the improved throttling and lower Vcore voltages.
7W is a rather nebulous figure and depending on your configuration you might / might not notice significant changes.
Even on the desktop, idle power reductions are apparent both at the CPU level and at the platform level. Intel focused on reducing CPU power, and it seems like Intel's motherboard partners did the same as well. Under load Haswell can draw more power than Ivy Bridge but it typically makes up for it with better performance.
If the fact that you can’t easily get tons of additional frequency headroom at marginal increase to CPU voltage is the only real downside to the platform, then I’d consider Haswell a success on the desktop. You get more performance and a better platform at roughly the same prices as Ivy Bridge a year ago. It’s not enough to convince folks who just bought a PC over the past year or two to upgrade again, but if you are upgrading from even a 3 year old machine the performance gains will be significant.
There’s more fine grained power gating, lower chipset power and the CPU cores can transition between power states about 25% quicker than in Ivy Bridge - allowing the power control unit to be more aggressive in selecting lower power modes. We’ve also seen considerable improvements on lowering platform power consumption at the motherboard level as well. Under load, there’s no escaping the fact that Haswell can burn more power in pursuit of higher performance.
It’s worth pointing out that the highest “Test TDP” values are up slightly relative to the last generation Ivy Bridge equivalents—84W instead of 77W. Whether that reflects a change in how they determine TDP or if it’s simply to give more headroom to the top performing parts isn’t clear. On the desktop, this is probably not particularly important—7W in TDP could often end up being just 1-2W in practice—so we’re not really concerned. -
okay ..looking into it...but cant find motherboard the one you mentioned...
Here you go, PlayStation Sir.
Playstation, if you are interested in Overclocking then go for i5 3570k. It is better than 4430 in CPU tasks, just takes some more power. Plus, Haswell for desktops isn't adding anything over Sandy bridge or Ivy bridge. After overclocking 3570k preforms similar to i7 3770k in gaming. You have a pretty good chassis as well. http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i5-4430-vs-Intel-Core-i5-3570K
To over-clock you need to invest in a motherboard that is much more expensive, a Z77 based motherboard would easily dent him by ~8000/- and above. The better and more reliable pieces get even more expensive. So forget that in a ~20000/- budget much less at ~15000/-.
The Haswell chip is good because
- Lower power consumptions
- Performance is close even at a lower base and turbo-clock
- Newer chipset and processor and this is the decider, right here.
Now you can keep saying that the older generation processors still make sense but really they don't especially if a person wants to get this for the long haul. Get the latest you can buy, when you are purchasing anything.
-
@alpha, PS4 will happen anyways but right now pc is needed ...that is why i need these components otherwise would have gone for ps4. Infact the reason i am even ready to spend so much on my budget right now is to make sure all i will need to get is high end gfx for next gen and just that rest of the components should be upto the mark.
In that case go for the components I have already listed, no point for going any lower.
-
-
I also want these trading cards :|
Done.
-
I said i need basic components right now....i will get the gfx card later..not even counting smps..its just 3 things processor, ram and mb...
Mohit yaar, dekho, there is no point buying components right now. I know you want to buy base components and add as you go but honestly now is not the time, prices for Haswell components are high, RAM prices are high and honestly there is no point you buy generation old hardware.
Save up, buy the PS 4 first if you fell like, then depending on the capability of that make your next move, right now by spending close to ~15000/- I cannot guarantee that you will get a decent quad-core and the motherboard, plus RAM.
That said if you still want to purchase this stuff, save up-to ~20,000/- and go for a
Intel Core i5 4430 ~12500/-
ASUS B85-G ~6500/-
Corsair Vengeance or G.Skill RIPJAWS 4GB x1 1600MHz ~2100/- (add another memory module later)
This is what I would suggest if you are in a tearing hurry.

Do decisions carry over from game to game? How integral are they? I'm thinking of getting this on 360 instead of waiting to upgrade my PC.
Last equipped armour, weaponry would transfer over.
Your skill-sets should transfer over, especially since it is essentially a revamped RED Engine and not a gulf like The Witcher to Witcher 2.
Political factions will be realigned, different NPC's (important and minor) should appear, more importantly the political setting from the prior game should affect how the various Kingdoms are holding up. Also, depending on the path you chose in The Witcher 2, the NPC's P.o.V. will clash or match your own.
It will be an exciting carry-over to say the least.

Some one was looking for main theme music?
Zodak was, when was this released, source please.

Droid DNA definitely seems to be a better option. But, am a bit skeptical about getting used phones, that too from strangers.
ZL is a neat phone, but Sony's UI is so ewww. Like Sackboy said I can change the ROM or something. So, ZL joins the race. And hey, thanks for confusing me more. You were supposed to help me out!
ZR is the same hardware as the XPERIA Z / ZL in a more compact frame (4.5" screen), improved water and dust resistance. Also, costs a shade less than the ZL ~30500/- (last I checked at a SONY Centre).
Also, as Sackboy and I said you can customise the UI with Launchers and icon packs without rooting the phone (or swapping ROM's for that matter), it does not really matter if the base UI is icky in your opinion.
About the hTC One that is your call, although I do not enjoy anything about it save the smaller screen size.
If you are willing to consider Windows Phone based handsets take a look at the
- NOKIA Lumia 920
- hTC 8X
-
@DrAnjithk also look at the SONY XPERIA ZR.

what the ................ did u read all the fan translations of the unreleased witcher books ? cause the 2 English translated novels have no mention of Saskia! are those fan translations good ??
No, it is mentioned by Saskia herself towards the end of The Witcher 2.
Her father is mentioned as a Golden Knight several times in the books. Here is his name, Borch Three Jackdaws.

Okay guys, decided to move away from iOS after 4 years!
So please help me decide! One X+ or Nexus 4?
Nexus4, SAMSUNG Galaxy S III and SONY XPERIA SP should be on your list.
And if you do not like the looks of vanilla Android / default Android UI on your handset you can always use a different launcher to spice things up.

Will check my inventory in a few mins,
yup i do play lots of DOTA 2, it has something to do with it?
DoTA 2 is one of the games that has card sets associated with it.
Thanks Alpha for invite

Always happy to help HITMAN.
-
Django send me invite please. Accepted your friend invite

Sent invite.
I dont think i have it, how do you confirm it?

Check your inventory, if I try to gift it to you, your name is greyed out and it shows up as you already own it.
Alternately, do you play titles like TF 2 or DoTA 2?
What is everyone sending?

STEAM's version of Pokèmon cards and how they will make you spend more than you accounted for over virtual cards, badges, emoticons and backgrounds.

If you have ~8000/- or more to spare on the motherboard, then I suggest that you go for the following motherboards
Hope this helps, Cheerio!
What part of my earlier quoted text did you not read, the part where it said the PCB is the thinnest encountered or the one where it said that their was significant warping under heavy loads which actually made the mounting of a water-block ineffective.
It is a good board on a budget, that said, if the board snaps tomorrow under the load of a heavy cooler, then you are stuck. And seeing to over-clock Ivy-Bridge / Haswell you need a lot of cooling grunt, I don't think this is going to be a cost-effective base system purchase, we are making it a more expensive proposition every post.
GAF is definitely not based in India, so less said better. This is not a country where we have Amazon shipping us stuff and in-case things slip up, mail order and RMA service replace the components within a week, tops two.
