  1. OK thanks, will check them. So freesync monitors are the ones that have good response times ?

No, but they have better quality panels compared to the majority of stuff available in the lower end.

Does Malware Rootkit remover software work well? Or can you guys suggest any software?

    Use Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.

Have you tried even booting into safe mode? Which version of Windows are you running?

  2. Is the slow response times noticeable ? Gaming: movies would be 25:75

Also can you link some 2-3 of 27" monitors such you think are good for gaming ? I wanted to check out some of them in stores if they are available before I buy online !

I already gave you my recommendation, if you are not happy with those, ask for FreeSync monitors when you go to the local store and see what you can get.

Most stores will peddle you the generic DELL or whatever branded monitor they are getting, you would not get much out of them for particular model unless you enquire before hand with regards to availability and potential demo.

  3. ^ All IPS panels come with worse response times, so you get better colours but gain nothing as such in the gaming department. Plus most of these cheap IPS units can be matched in colour performance by a good quality TN panel (like the BenQ one) after calibration, plus are limited to a 60Hz refresh.

  4. Why not? Listen what devs want when they successfully port FFXV to PC. The graphics and the mods.

I do not see which was the last Square Enix title that supported them, so yeah, I would tone down my expectations for them if I were you.

  5. Problem is you seem to not have used this app or tried it so you are not able to imagine what and how it is. Once you do, then you can decide whether you do or do not appreciate whats its doing, aesthetically or otherwise. Its not some random aero effect or rotating widgets.

Not going to pay for the privilege.

  6. @Alpha

The live wallpaper goes into PAUSE mode whenever ANY app or window is in fullscreen mode. And even when its running the app uses next to nothing PC resources. Its extremely smooth, unbelievaby high quality and the simplest to use.. and that is the reason I am in shock and awe with it.

And its not at all about widgets or info with this one. Its purely for aesthetic purposes. The max you get is some animated clocks(some really creative ones tho) and/or live music equalisers. But thats not the crux of it.. it is the 4k HQ loop video wallpapers and some quirky animated-interactive ones.

You are still forced to run the GPU on load, especially if you have to target a certain frame rate and anti-aliasing. Saying that it uses next to no PC resources is a fallacy.

It may be easy to use, that is why paid over why Rainmeter is an open source resource.

My point being, what is it doing that is not possible in Rainmeter, you can animate anything you want on Rainmeter, you can add widgets (for actual information) depending on your imagination and then some more but in this you are paying for just an animated AERO effect. And... that is that. So what is the gain apart from showboating?

  7. @Alpha

Wallpaper engine isnt centered around widgets though. Its more about CG/video/interactive wallpapers.

P.S. If anyone does end up buyin this make sure to change the fps to 60 and msaa to 8x in options.

Why do you want to get an application that eats up your GPU performance on the default desktop though is something I do not understand.

  8. Guys, please suggest a good monitor - main purpose: gaming, movies(netflix), secondary purpose: regular computer stuff like programming/word/excel etc

preferences: above 27" (or atleast 24") budget : ~ 20,000. Prefer to have something with good inbuilt audio or at-least support for a soundbar !

Now I'm not sure whether investing in a 4K monitor will be worth it for such a small screen (and considering I won't be upgrading my PC for another 2 years atleast). My current PC is quite old and my PS4 is not a PRO. Also, I'm not sure if curved monitors work well within short distance and if its comfy to use for non movies/gaming tasks like programming/word/excel/browsing etc. So, please feel free to post your suggestions.

Get a BenQ Zowie console gaming series monitor, 1080p should be good for now. I see no reason to get a curved monitor for such a small display, there is not much in the way of advantage you will gain.

    Hope this helps. Cheers!
