Does the site take custom charges while making the order? Because i am assuming it will attract custom charges while being imported to India.
Nope, not while placing order. But customs will likely apply during delivery.
They have a DHL and a Registered Airmail option.
DHL will attract customs 100%, but faster delivery with better tracking.
And with registered airmail you 'may' escape customs, but delivery time will be longer. And I'm not sure what kind of tracking to expect from our postal service, I'll assume really shitty.

After a l-o-t of deliberation, ordered this one-> Seiko 5 Automatic SNK623
Liked the look of this the most, among others.
Chose the registered airmail option, let's see how it goes.

Eco drive is excellent. I wouldnt pay 18k for it though. Not for a Quartz watch.
If you are ok with Quartz, look at Seiko Kinetic too. Beautiful watches. Probably around 15k Amazon import I think.
Or look at Orient Ray/Mako? I dont know if you are into the whole "Diving" aesthetic though. I always found it clunky looking.
I know.. mechanicals are more 'respectable'.. but there are way too many Seiko reviews in Amazon mentioning they need to adjust time almost every other day. That is kinda putting me off the whole thing. I will be wearing the watch 8 hrs a day, 5 days a week. Meaning, I'll probably need to adjust time after every weekend at the very least.
Kinetics are also Quartz right? Except the battery is 'fed' by motion?
As for the Orient Mako, looking for sub 40 mm watches due to my bitch-size wrists.

Looking for some watch within 12-13k.
Have my eyes on Seiko, but not sure if I can get a decent one at that range.
Any recommendations? Cc: @Black_Hawk
P.S.
In terms of preference, I lean more towards the 'clean' looking ones, as opposed to the 'busy' ones (like G Shock, for example).

I am pretty sure you can get it shipped to India for like ~180-200$. Well within your budget.
After some more research, came across this one-> Citizen BM8180-03E
Stellar reviews all around, and won't have to worry about correcting the time every week, as it is with the mechanical watches.
Only problem is availability. Doesn't seem to be available with any reputed seller in India, and import from Amazon is coming to about 18k after shipping & customs.
Even creation watches doesn't have it.

Peeps with 4K HDR TVs, do check out the new Lion King. Looks freaking insane in the C9.
Managed to.. err.. 'get' the 4K Bluray version.

Watching the new Lion King, and I really don't get the hate. Yes, the characters are not expressing cartoonishly, but it goes well enough with the CGI quality.
On a side note,
Managed to.. err.. 'get' the 4K Bluray version. And it looks insane in the C9.

Me, for all the HBO stuff. I so wish they had chosen to tie up with Amazon at least, if not Netflix.

As someone who is paying for Hotstar, its always Ahoy matey time. Absolute dogshit streaming quality and the app forgets where I am in an episode half the time.
No way in hell I am renewing for next year.
Using the WebOS app for it, and it's absolute dogshit. Forget the streaming quality, even the user interface is retarded.

I pity those who purchased from epic. Sadly, they forgot that this store is not having any standard and just supports bribing irrespective of client needs and services to be provided. Moreover the company has no goodwill which makes it cent percent to enter in bad record and I feel it's highly risky to share any of our personal data like bank/card details and stuff as they may misuse it which would be beyond your imagination.
Jeez man!

Unfortunately, same issue ☹️.
44 mm ones look huge on my wrist.

So it's been a good 4 months with the VU Premium Android. Everything was working fine till about 1 week back when the remote refused to switch on the TV. Changed 4 sets of batteries and none worked. So I used my phone to control the TV and unpaired the remote but the remote wouldn't get detected for pairing either. Anyone with a Activoice remote will know the tiny led under the mic hole lights up when any button is pressed. This wasn't happening. So finally decided to call VU support.
VU: Welcome blah blah blah
Me : My activoice remote isn't working.
VU: is it paired with the TV?
Me: It was but becuase it wasn't working I unpaired it but not it's not getting detected.
VU : OK sir we will reset the remote. First remove the batteries from the remote.
Me : Ok done.
VU : Now press the Google Assistant button for 15 seconds
Me : (Skeptical but I do it anyway because wtf do I know) Ok its done.
VU : Now press the home button for 15 secs.
Me : What does this do? (At this point I'm thinking this is probably clearing some primitive rom/bios or draining any latent charge, but wtf do I know)
VU : We are trying to reset the remote sir.
Me : Without any batteries? I mean does it have like a button cell inside to clear the chip or something? (I'm not being a smart a*s, just curious)
VU : Ummmm..... No sir it will reset the remote.
Me : (Ok he's the boss so I press the home button for 15 secs) Done!
VU : Now put the batteries in the remote and try to switch on the TV
Me : (After trying and nothing) That didn't work
VU : Ok sir I'm registering a complaint and a technician will visit in 48 hours.
Me : Ok. Thanks for trying. Have a good day.
VU : Thank you sir blah blah blah
WTF ???

An update after quite a while, even without the loss in posts. One of the reasons I was posting my experience here was because I wanted a personal recollection, a diary I could read later. A catalog for my choices. That would help me understand better whenever I found some change in the way I think about this stuff.
A major change happened last night.
I was a little baked and it was late and I wanted to watch El Camino. Around 2 AM.
Usually, before I settle in to watch what I truly want to watch, I "warm-up" with some YouTube videos, trailers, and the like for about 10 minutes. Just as I was about to put the movie on, my phone buzzed. The text simply said: "Volume".
Hmm.
I wanted to watch, because I was baked, and you know how that goes. So I reduced the volume to a level that it won't be a bother for the text-sender. I usually play Netflix at about 7 db below reference (about 73 db, because apparently that's how these high-end processors show sound level). I turned it down to -21.
Holy hell what a goddamn transformation. Not only was the experience more enjoyable, it was immersive. It was immersive to a level which it hasn't been earlier. Everything sounded better, real-er, crisper. Incredible detail, that usually got mushed due to the loudness earlier, and nuance just oozed out. I sound like a pretentious douche here probably, but it was goddamn epic. Church, yo.
The entire experience was much more enjoyable, without being taxing. And that got me thinking. The audio engineers that create these masterpieces, and El Camino is an aural masterpiece, would also be tuning these sounds to be played within a certain optimum range. Too loud is just that, it is too loud.
I then went a few steps further. I adjusted levels of LCR and down-levelled L and R three steps, and down-levelled the subs from -14, -17 to -23 and -25. No unnecessary exaggerations of any effects. In doing so I realised that I needed to keep the centre speaker which handles the vocal soundtrack primarily at a higher level because the effects were drowning out the sound. Soon as I moved to this "calmer" set-up, I could bring the centre down a couple of notches which also made it sound much more natural.
So, to sum up, thank god for that text
Now, the sound is just..
Just wanted to mention that I thoroughly enjoy your posts. Please keep them coming.

Been to the movies a lot recently, with Joker and Weathering with You and The Sky is Pink.
Next watch at the hall will be this. I like the book, but the movie might be better!
Yet another adaptation!
But this one looks... different.

Same TV again.
I did try the settings, I can't understand the speech that is being said which I could before.
If you are happy with the picture quality, I would suggest to just get a speaker set
