Managed to get it working without changing region. The "turn on" from echo dot worked the first few times, but didn't work after that. "Turn Off" was more consistent.
But the sheer amount of time it takes... I just gave up on it after the first few times and went back to the remote, which is rather wonderful.

It has major sync issues with video playback, had seen that mentioned in almost everything I read about it.
I would advise waiting for Sony WF-1000XM3 to launch in India.

That's odd, if there is an Aux slot it should work. Maybe check out the manual once for the output slots?
