On a recent trip, I paid a visit to Karim's in Delhi. The one near Jama Masjid. I donno, I didn't find the food thaaaaaaat tasty that its worthy of BBC's award for best asian restaurant.
this is common..fame makes these guys lazy...
hav a similar case here in mumbai ...bade miya... supposdly the most famous late nite nonveg snack bar :puke:

or maybe you had normal biryani ..i mentioned "kacchi biryani" is good since they have quite a few varietiesmumbai biryani is more like dry khichuri that we prepare at home...nothing special about it i felt...i felt lucknow biryani over hyped...basically the kabab and other cuisine is tasty in lucknow, except that..
i bet snake's biryani is better than hyd kacchi biryani

had biryani almost at all major metro's and cities of india...still i felt calcutta has the best biryani
...there is a major difference in the way we get it here and at other places...only other place that i felt gave somewhat competition to calcutta was hyd...with it Hyderabadi kachhi biryanii feel hyd biryani is ovrhypd
...i had it from paradise in hyd hvnt been to calcutta but lucky's biryani in mumbai rocx
