they were already making these games.

I don’t think by the mid gen or possibly even end gen it’s going to feel much of a “war of studios” & probably giving free games the only option M$ has most of this gen.

They didn’t offer 60fps in Halo Infinite technical test 1.
But after much outcry & backlash had to add it in test 2.
It wasn’t surprising that it ran leaps & bounds better than SeriesS version.
Totally scummy move but is being defended by loyalists.

I don’t care personally & it can go on PC day & date with PS,but it will!! impact the appeal of the proprietary device.
The main revenue source for these devices are third party software royalties & subscriptions.
The exclusive first party software is only secondary source of income but primary source of generating interest.
The current business model of Sony & Nintendo & the one used by M$ during 360 era in no way makes it a sensible decision to let exclusive content loose on PC early on.
But if they are planning to shift the paradigm & anticipating the end of hardware in core & casual scene sooner than later,then it makes complete sense.
I don’t really care though & want as many ppl to experience their class apart work as possible.

But Sony has pretty much done organic growth in terms of in-house first party IP’s.
Most of their games are their Intellectual Property from Inception.
But in M$‘s case even Halo & Gears are something that they have bought from someone else.
But yes none of this matters in the larger picture & all that matters are the games & at what value can they procure it for their audiences.
We need to wait & see what exactly happens to their work once all the projects that were already developed & had obligatory contracts to release on other platforms apart from their proprietary device.
& Not foolishly give them credit just for buying already baked stuff.

& Which company has always given new & innovative bombshells to it’s own audiences without taking anything away from the multiplatform market.
Everyone knows this by now & the ppl who you are telling it to won’t budge even if their sensibility depended on it.
But yeah tmrw if Sony picks up Bioshock & makes it timed exclusive(as rumoured),they surely will be cry foul & a river with it.
M$ is the company that is known to do it the most & well I believe everything is fair in love & war.
But ppl should look at things with fair spectacles too.
Let the them do something atleast before proclaiming that they have done it!!-

Exclusive wars died down with PS360 era.
Nintendo went a different path from conventional console AAA gaming.
Xbox just gave up abruptly after the first few successes.(Now see potential & are making a comeback)
Sony dominated the entire third quarter of PS3 & entirety of PS4.
The charm of exclusive wars just faded away.
Now ppl fully understand that with streaming of games to any screen on the horizon.
There is no point in getting anything meaningful out of your purchase from the exclusivity standpoint.
It’s pretty much over.
Only console exclusivity war will remain for next few years & then it’ll turn into subscription exclusivity war.
Kinda like what happens between Netflix & Amazon Prime.
