Yes but having a meaty campaign in VR is the point. Be it even separate. I don’t think they will build a separate tech demo sort of thing which was done with many games in initial days just give PSVR a boost. It just didn’t work & stopped coming.

That was done in initial PSVR days. Since then it has been stuff like RE7,Skyrim,Doom,Hitman 3. Let’s see.

I don’t think Phil Spencer would have purchased Actiblizzard at the price that he did if this was true. Maybe only if Satya is planning to go multiplatform altogether once cloud pics up & he doesn’t need Xbox/GamesPass.

For Oculus yes. Should definitely come to PSVR2 aswell.

RE4 Remake would have to be open/semi-open world & have some of the modern elements of TLOU 2/Days Gone/RE Village. Isn’t that already a thing?!?

Obviously when I said that I meant Insomniac in Sunset’s case. When a IP is owned & developed by an external studio but funded & published by a platform holder it’s referred to as Second Party. Epic:- Gears Trilogy (IP was later bought by M$) Insomniac:- Sunset Overdrive Crytek:- Ryse are all examples of second party projects.

Abondoned & Deviation games haven’t been revealed…just announced. Same with Haven Studios(at that time it was second party). Also Playstation generally doesn’t reveal its games(even titles) unless they are fairly close into developmental cycle.

Source?!? It still says summer 2022 on the internet. No further communication after that. About FF16….chances are next to none,that’s why I said “If”. Edit:- But in anycase even that is coming soon enough,maybe Q1 2023.

^^First Party games leaving the service is not a certainty yet. PSnow was a different service where it was always mentioned which game is leaving when & which ones are forever available. First party games also mentioned a date but were later re-added almost on every instance & stayed on forever thereafter. Since this is a premium service & is charging more…I believe it will be more in line with GamesPass than PSnow. No game will have a pre determined date & First Party might not leave altogether.

It’s not a hidden fact that digital prices on popular platforms remain the same as retail prices coz of fair trade policies. One wouldn’t want to rub the physical store retailers the wrong way coz they have been traditionally the biggest medium between creators & demographic. Not much different than why movie production houses can’t rub distribution channels & theatres. Until & unless the dependence totally becomes one sided in favour of digital one can’t afford to lose retailers/theatres.

PS3 era IPs were special coz Sony went full out with their first party creativity coz it was basically abandoned by almost all third party studios. Initially everyone started making exclusives for 360 coz of its inherent similarities to PC architecture & PS3 dev kits being largely unavailable. Even the ones which were announced as PS3 exclusives started developing for 360 coz of the same reason. Sony had to look after itself big time.

That’s exactly what I said,didn’t you get it the first time?!? Sony was registering growth through & with these studios long before acquiring them. By the means of n number of in-house resources with partnerships. You only ring up Sony & tell them if they shouldn’t call it Organic coz their is no such provision in Google. I’ll call it Organic as long as they do.

That is there But if an organisation is already registering growth with sharing of funds,tech,know-how,marketing & other kinds of partnerships through second/third party developers & is already growing through & with them even before they have officially acquired them. Is sort of an area not well defined in Google searches.

Even Sony has acquired all their studios at some point. Name any studio be it ND,Suckerpunch,Insomiac,Media Molecule or even more. There is some reason they like to call their first party growth as organic with time,budget,tech,know how,marketing shared over a large period of time rather than spending just money on acquisition. I don’t know why they refer to it that way or why they shouldn’t. Better to discuss with them & ask.

When you start working with the developer from project to project which are mostly new in nature & don’t have deep rooted multiplatform backgrounds & provide funds,marketing ,tech,guidance as if it’s one of your own. Once both parties are confident that the relationship is maturing well enough & can take it to further level. They acquire it. Sony historically has been doing this kinda thing over outright acquisitions & bring the teams under new management abruptly.

I think they should just break the silence now….for whatever it is. There’s just too much indications but no official word.

It’s a nice addition to GamesPass no doubt. Hopefully will come on PS+Extra too.
