  1. Even though this is true but that is because ryzen is just launched so it's not fully optimised.... so it might take some time but the moment it gets optimised it will perform better than i5.

Agreed 100% comparing a Gen 1 and Gen 7 is practically criminal. I cant wait to see what a fully optimized Ryzen is capable of ...also if game devs choose multi core of single core in future game dev.

  2. Ryzen cpu has launched in India.

R5 1600 is a great value for money for 16.5k. Anyone looking to build a new pc should blindly go for this cpu. R5 1400 is not as good a value at 13k. Should have been under 12k.

Finally R7 1700 at 25k is 9k more than 1600. Not really worth it for gaming pc as 1600 is plenty sufficient. Only get this cpu if money is not an issue and you want to build the best pc possible.

For me the dream combination would be R5 1600 + RX 470 8GB.

MSI Armor 470 8gb is available for 18k now so its a good value.

Those who will say 8gb is a waste on rx470 why would you not spend 2k more to have double memory? Better more than less in Computer hardware.

So R5 1600 has made Intel i5 a bad buy. I don't see any reason why one would want to buy an i5-7500 over a R5 1600.

This is an interesting review. i5 7600 still rock solid for gaming at a premium Of 3K over R5 1600

  3. Don't see why anyone should buy i5-7500 for 16k. R5 1600 is way better option. Most people don't upgrade cpu for atleast 5 years so R5 1600 is the logical choice.

I5-6500 for 14k? That's a bit better but again R5 1400 for 12k is better long term option.

where did you come across R5 benchmarks, before making this judgement call ?

  4.

Bhai, saare taxes bhee aap absorb kar lo na for the entire PC community of India.

Also, if you are so concerned about value, what is the cost of getting an unlocked Intel CPU + compatible board and all paraphernalia on Intel's side and AMD's side, compare that as well.

    Masterjee ka homework

  5. GA-B85M-HD3 v1.1 motherboard went kaput. Need a new one around the same price. Would be nice if it also has Dolby Audio along with an S/PDIF port.0

    Specs for compatibility check: MSI GTX 980 Ti, i5 4440 @ 3.10 GHz, 16 (2x8)GB RAM, 2 (1x2)TB HDDs and Cooler Master V750 PSU.

    TIA.

I think by Dolby Audio you mean Dolby Digital Live- https://www.dolby.com/in/en/technologies/dolby-digital-live.htmlsince practically all Realtek Sound cards can decode Dolby/DTS content and serve it via analog or as HDMI Passthrough

I don't think any budget board supports this, even getting a sound card for this is like 6-8K damages to the wallet. (Correct me if I am wrong) -- My ideal setup would be GPUs managing DD Live / DTS Connect not sure why they don't support it.

    Whats your audio setup ?

For the record : Analog 5.1 > DD 5.1 ; the former is lossless

  6. Hey bro, thanks.. how bad was the after sales.. where are you put up? I am at Bangalore so am being a little optimistic.. should I be worried?!?

Do you use the TV with consoles. I am planning to hook up my PS3 and sometimes comp.. hence the question about a portable gaming pc/laptop [emoji16]

I am from Bangalore too. I had this thing where the TV will not display at 4K 60hz from my rx 470. Their CC doesnt even understand the issue and just hangs up, tried calling 5 times for 2 days each time same treatment. Then all the news of 85% layoffs and other things started to make sense.

So its a lot on Luck here, a gamble worth taking. But it will have its consequences.

PS: I desperately needed a phone upgrade but got this instead. cheaper than an iphone 7 :P

  7. They have perfected Gameplay. Now it's a matter of how big a world they can create and how good a story they can do.

I could not play most RPG's because of their loose combat mechanics.

I see a great future for horizon.

your post just reminded me of this cool video I saw. Not directly related but still for some reason :P

  8. On pro there is a mode where we can select between high graphics and high fps. High fps makes the trees thinner and grass density less, it took away lot of visual quality that I turned it off so can't say what else was removed graphically. I think that is how game looks on base ps4.

But both options still render with checkerboarding or is it super sampled to 1080p ? (love throwing these jargons)

Any input lag while on HDR ?

  9. How is the performance on a non pro ps4? Also did you use HDR?

going by digiital foundry you cant even tell the difference. its so well optimised with Sony's balls hanging off this game minus the checkerboarding hdr jing bang ofcourse.

personally I would prefer, 1080p, high tex, better AA, shadows and of all a solid 45+ fps | rather than a gimmicky 4K and "wider color gamut"

    ROTR /looking at you

  10. Hi Guys,

I hope I am not repeating a question. I am considering buying a gaming laptop instead of assembling a gaming pc from scratch.

The reason is so that I can save on space.

I needed some advice on whether or not this is a good idea. My budget is around 60k.

I am not planning to purchase a monitor.

Moreover, I am not an avid FPS player. But I love games such as tomb raider, arkham asylum, indies and platformers. Light steam gaming for fun. Need the system to watch content on TV and play games on the same.

Looking forwards to some devil's advocates!

    Btw, how's leeco TV 55Inch?

    Cheers,

    Ben

I'll speak for leeco being an owner myself.

At the price the value is unbeatable. Having said that the product is flawed enough to make you choose a reputed brand, major ones being build quality and after sales. If you are willing to compromise and maybe look at upgrading when 4K hits maintream (like me) get it.

  11. Adding to that is a furious ex dev who broke all NDAs and went on a leaking spree https://www.reddit.com/r/BatmanArkham/comments/5vwffl/spoilers_i_really_dont_give_a_damn_at_this_point/

Unfortunaltely the post got flagged and eventually removed. But you can read comments to make sense.

  12. I have G750JX laptop. I saw some website for egpu solutions. And according to that my laptop supports egpu solutions. Do you think I should do that instead of buying new computer? I have a thunderbolt port 1 which is what people say to use. Or I can open the laptop for ngff/m.2 connection or use mini pcie port. Either way I can connect. The mini pcie is difficult as I have to disassemble my laptop. Where as m.2 I am not sure my laptop has it or not.

PS : As of 2017 eGPu works best with Thunderbolt 3 Type C port.

If this is of any help - saw this interesting cross comparison -

Gaming laptop as a concept I have never understood! and the whole point of a "laptop" being it has to be mobile, now with this block hanging on your laptop you end up losing the mobility so why get yourself this in the first place. But then products like these appear

  13. ^^ need something badly, currently don't have anything except a headphone .... Planning to get Logitech z313 .... Any comments ?

Alphy is right, pretty much everything sucks at the price range - I had an amazon gift coupon from our secret santa at work and I redeemed it to get these ones as spare for my other room - http://www.amazon.in/520-2-1-multimedia-speakers/dp/B00E2OY4J8/ref=sr_1_27?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1488099371&sr=1-27&keywords=speakers slightly off your budget but you can look out for better deals.

Another worthy option could be - http://www.amazon.in/dp/B00N7BGECC/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_1?pf_rd_p=733112647&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B007F909IC&pf_rd_m=A1VBAL9TL5WCBF&pf_rd_r=01HRRN90JDW52097ARS7 or http://www.amazon.in/Creative-Multimedia-Speaker-System-Black/dp/B007F909IC?tag=googinhydr18418-21&tag=googinkenshoo-21&ascsubtag=aab1dbcc-46cd-47c4-9204-02c2d843f4b0

  14. As a long time LG user here, I can assure you there are no lags in my tvs.

Not sure where you got the info that it's infamous for input lags. The last tv I bought was in 2012 (3d ledtv) . Plasmas before that. All LG. Can game quite comfortably on all of them without lag.

Thanks for the feedback on LGs bro! ...any idea on the ideal view distance - will 4K make sense on a 43" at 9ft. ? Compared to a 55" Leco - which has some weired refresh rate flaws as I recently discovered,.

  15. Yaar ek toh iss forum ke members ke paas paisa itna hai koi model numbers hi nahi batata, I'm guessing sab top of the line hi leke baithe hai :samui:

    Guys, will a 43" UF770T be sufficient for 9ft viewing distance ?

Also it says HDR + Dobly vision, but I'm not sure if it's a 10bit panel or a 8bit panel, incase it's 8bit how are they even claiming HDR and Dolby vision :ack:

LG is famous for input lags, surprised to see a contradictory view point here !!

Letv owners (Athek) pls confirm on the 4K 30Hz situation when connect to a PC. Thanks in advance B-)
