Just because he is working on it is not a guarantee you know. I would like to believe you but this is DICE we are talking about.

Yeah I agree with you.. but DICE is improving, I have heard good things about Battlefield 1 campaign (I haven't played it though).

    Vid not working. Region locked.

I kinda like the idea of a SP campaign. Just not sure if Dice can do it justice.

I am hyped as story is co-written by 'Spec Ops: The Line' writer.

    Pretty sure it is.

I won't lie though, this game seems right up my alley. Co-op PVE, exploration, loot etc. It looked stunning and I like the setting. However I find the whole "scripted chatter" between players during these presentations quite laughable. Who even talks like that in-game? It was funny back when Ubi did it with The Division and even now.

Also, isn't Dragon Age 4 also in development?

Yes it is. Finally, we will visit Tevinter Imperium.

So is this the ME team that worked on this while they handed off Andromeda to a B team?

I get the feeling that ME is getting abandoned in favor of this. To be honest this does look absolutely incredible but as someone who genuinely enjoyed the ME trilogy it is kind of a bummer.

    Yes

f**king hell this country. Everyone is terrified of offending someone.

    Not that I blame them.

Not only India though.. love it or hate it, cultural, religious, socialistic and patriotic sensitivities, along with some rational thinking like Science and Ethics, have been shaping the world in which we live. Is it good or bad - that's a never ending debate :P

  6. American gods wasn't censored i think.

Yes, there are two versions of 'American Gods' and one of them is uncensored. But there are other movies/shows that have censorship without an alternate uncensored version.

Amazon Prime Video Censorship Evolves With an 'Indian Version' of American Gods

The first – the ‘Indian’ version on Prime Video – allows female full frontal nudity, but draws the line at its male counterpart. As an example, Bilquis’ sex scenes in the first two episodes are intact, but an image of a penis has been blurred out in episode two.

That’s not all. The ‘Indian’ version also doesn’t allow discussion of cow-killing – a weird extension of the policy applied to The Grand Tour by Amazon, where the animal’s carcass and innards were visible – though Amazon seems to be taking a random approach to muting the word.

During American Gods’ episode two, when Czernobog (Peter Stormare) brings up his work at a slaughterhouse, his use of the word ‘cow’ has been silenced. But seconds later, when Zorya Vechernyaya (Cloris Leachman) says ‘cow-killing’, the phrase can be heard. Not only is it an inconsistent policy, but Prime Video also appears to be arbitrary at drawing the line.

Thankfully, that’s where the second version – termed ‘International Release’ – comes in, as it’s completely free of any censorship. There’s a caveat though; you’ll need to manually search for it on Prime Video. Amazon is only advertising the ‘Indian’ version on the carousel, so you won’t find it simply by browsing around.

  7. I disagree. Those anime cutscene news announcements barely last a couple of seconds. And what is spoken by the announcer is in clear English.

I like the fact that the news background is in Japanese. Some minor things should not be translated. The setting is in Tokyo, Japan and if every minor thing is translated, the authenticity of the location will be lost. It will then be no different than any fictional American/English city.

For ex., in Uncharted 2 a lot of signs were in Nepali. Tenzin spoke exclusively in Nepali without any subs. People (including me) loved it, since it added authenticity even though we could not understand what was written/said. It drives home the feeling that you are in a particular location.

This is subjective and many people would love to know what the actual text / dialogue is (perhaps this can be an optional setting similar to enabling/disabling Japanese VO).

Anyways, not subbing English voiced lines and bad translation do not add to the authenticity of the location in the game.

  8. I read through that site earlier when the game came out. It's only a problem if you're super-nitpicky about translations, I didn't notice 90% of the things they pointed out while playing.

This is their take on this point

The default response is often defensiveness: those mistakes aren't serious, or they don't exist at all.

If this instinct ever grabs you, just remember: it's entirely possible to enjoy translated media and still demand that publishers do better. Because the work deserves it, and so do we.

Also, they raise other valid concerns like some voiced lines are not subbed and there are untranslated images/video :

What they are complaining about might come across to many as 'asking too much' but in the end, we all should strive to improve things as much as possible. :)
