  1. well if you re buying a phone to showoff thats another thing :P

as they say beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. Personally I find the S2 to be a gorgeous looking phone , that slimness and the light weight

Also with the note, samsung got hold of an untapped market , with little competition even now. No wonder it was a success. All they had to do was to price it decently , and they did just that and bam you have a winner in your hands.

  2. and also samsung persists with that plastic body with S3 it will end up being pathetic. Htc one X in all its review is being hailed as one of the best built phone along with iphone 4. Samsung does not necessarily need a better specced phone but definitely a better built phone.

"plasticky" S2 and note have sold millions. Not so pathetic now ?

    S3 will be a gamechanger , just like S2.

  3. Ok so I'm in trouble,

the phone promoted me that a firmware is available so I gladly did an OTA update, and ever since the phone has been in a boot-loop. FML.

I realized that the time has come for a ROM flash but I am on Mac and Odin does not seem to work on it, I did get a Windows to Mac converted version though but it is not recognizing my phone (the ID:ROM column remains blank)

I tried Heimdall for Mac as well but it kept giving strange errors when I tried to detect the phone.

Is there any other way to do it on Mac or would I have to Reluctantly, with a capital R, have to install Windows on my Mac ?

Or should I just take it to the service center, but I fear that they may break more stuff than repair such a simple thing :fear:

^YOU MUST read the posts in this topic more carefully. I already reported several I9100Gs going into Bootloop after installing latest FW.

Only option is to goto Samsung Care, as Odin wont detect it on Windows. Supersim here got the same problem, and IIRC he got it fixed from Samsung.

    And :ha: at using Mac.

yup I got the same problem . Was updating using crappy hostel wifi , the phone got stuck on bootloop. Gave it to service centre , they resolved the problem , of course all data (apps, settings, all) was wiped from phone .

After getting it back from service centre , updated the phone again this time using home wifi , fortunately it went good ( i was scared as hell updating it again :P)

Lesson learnt - use a reliable internet connection while updating.

  4. ambar how are you proceeding with the replacement thingy ?

I sent one mail to samsung india customer saying I want replacement , i got a mail and call that your concern is being forwaded to the concerned department and then later I got a call from some samsung guy asking me to visit samsung service centre and get my phone checked out , I kept telling him I wanna get it replaced :wallbash:
