  1. A lot of that is stat padding by beating WI away and weaker teams at home. Can't take away last year's series win in Australia though, that remains the greatest achievement by an Indian cricket team that I've ever seen. Where I think Kohli fails is he sometimes lets the game drift away and let's an advantage slip after we've done well. There have been far too many matches we've lost due to lower order partnerships after removing the top order cheaply. He also seems to make bizzare bowling changes. Most of those matches we have won under him were those we were expected to win. We failed in South Africa (2017-18) and England (2018). Should have won that England series, but gave up advantage multiple times. His inability to accept responsibilty after failure is also worrying.
  2. Great day today, but it's not over by any means. Should try to extend the lead by atleast 100 more tomorrow. Hopefully a very small 4th innings total to chase.
  3. You have to wake up in the exact 5 minute window to catch Burns batting.
  4. You can watch the New Zealand vs Pakistan series on FanCode. The season pass costs 29 Rs. The season pass for the previous series (West Indies) cost half as much, at 15 Rs.
  5. On the other hand, I have also called and reconciled with many friends whom I lost contact with over the years.
  6. A friend has an exam in Goa later this month. Does he have to take a Covid PCR test there before returning to Maharashtra? Is the test only for those travelling by train, plane or bus? If he goes in his own vehicle, will he still have to take the test?
  7. Ajinkya scored hundred in the practice game. Hope he is back to good form, we need him since Virat will not play most of the series.
  8. Never mind the bad captaincy decisions, this panvati can't even win the toss. ?
  9. Memories of bat me spring tha, players ke drinks me drugs mix kiya tha rumours.
  10. I'd blame Kohli for playing stupid selection politics again. I doubt Rohit is actually injured at all.
  11. Govt didn't invest anything? I'd much rather prefer govt buys the vaccine stocks outright and then puts it on sale for a reasonable price to the general public and free for those eligible under various schemes.
  12. Why would anyone do that, when paneer exists? (Unless they are vegan).
  13. I'm assuming you're scared of pork because of tapeworms? It is not a problem if you fully cook the meat. Beef can also carry tapeworms. There are many more animals we can eat, but they're less common and difficult to obtain. You could try rabbits, ducks, wild boars (hunting them is illegal), quail (लावरी), eggs of different birds, including crow. With fish and other seafood, you have more options than all the land animals put together. There's a fisherwoman here in Dombivli who sometimes even sells rays and sharks.
  14. Made these a few months back during lockdown but never got around to sharing: Vasai style prawns curry Lasagne
  15. I've read some articles about it. They call it 'corona fatigue.' It has nothing to do with the virus. After months of strictly following rules, people have become tired and want to get back to their normal, old routines.
  16. The masks inside cars rule is completely stupid. This is what happens when babus and netas with no knowledge of medicine or fluid dynamics get to make the rules. If you roll the windows up (which everyone does), you already have a much more effective bubble than a mask.
  17. This was on Sunday evening. New Year level crowd, no physical distancing, no parking discipline either. KDMC is still getting 100-150 cases daily.
  18. It was fun for the first 2 hours at work today, mostly because I got to see colleagues after a long time, but it got boring quickly after that. Couldn't even get my work done and had to bring it all back home. It is so much more convenient getting things done at home.
  19. Going to office from tomorrow onwards. It'll be a strange experience after staying at home for 7 months.
  20. A relative (brother-in-law of my cousin brother) died of Covid related complications yesterday. He was around 45-50 years old and had high blood sugar. Was admit for 21 days, then discharged after he tested negative. Just one day later he had a heart attack and died. Testing negative is not enough. It causes severe damage to the lungs and blood vessels and increases chances of having a stroke, heart attack, pneumonia, etc. later on. Those who have survived need to be very careful.
  21. Is a private test possible? Can non-Govt doctors prescribe a Covid test? Get it done immediately. Also get a chest scan done, as it can show if there is infection in lungs are not. Better to get tested and admited now with mild symptoms than wait for shortness of breath and pneumonia.
  22. Hope he gets well soon. Many people panic, get anxious, etc. Now that he is in the hospital, he is already on his road to recovery. Talk to him and his family, tell them to not worry. Desperate times. Some of the new shops/restaurants etc. that were set up in the last couple of years are still closed despite permissions to open, because the owners don't have any money to fund the business anymore. I have seen well dressed people (probably office workers before the lockdown) trying to sell vadapavs, home cooked meals, shop to shop. My father says this situation is as bad as the 1981-82 Dr. Samant mill strike.
  23. I don't always tip. We already have tipping culture in India but it is nothing like usa. Tips are always optional and I mostly give when I'm happy with the service or just happy in general. It's mostly spare change, not something like 15 or 20% they do in usa.
  24. I just hand tips to them in cash when they deliver.
