  1. A 4.8" screen is too big IMO.. I've gotten used to the 4.65" on the GN, and I love the screen estate, but there are times where I wish it was 4.3" instead. On the other hand, rumors say that the 4.8" screen is a Full HD (1080p) screen.. now if that is actually true..

  2. OMFG just got FPSe. And I can play PS1 games now. :wOOtjumpy:

Now my phone has WWF No Mercy and WWF Smackdown 2. Who the F**K needs Vita.

*Dreams about PS2 emulator release on future quad core phones*

I thought PS2 emulators are already out for Android/iOS? Or is it for PC only, still?

  3. All the curren/incoming Quad Core chips are A9 based.

The Krait based SoC will be better than all of the other SoC's, till A15 based Quad's come along. Even then, they'll have Krait based Quads to deal with.

Krait seems to be the best SoC for the 1st half of this year, maybe even later. Samsung still has to reveal its Exynos 5 series chips.

I really do prefer Sony right now, they seem to have their sh*t together. Granted, their internal hardware is a generation older than the competition, but they are doing well in software, in updates and in performance.

Not to mention, they get the small things right; the phone isn't oversized, the camera is great, the sound is great, the phone looks fantastic, and the build quality is good too. The only part I'm skeptical about is the screen, but people have been happy with that as well. The community support for Sony phones is good as well, and CM9 support is on its way. There are already beta CM9 builds for the Arc S, Play and the Neo V. Maybe even others.

I really have no idea what LG is upto, their O2X was average, but the software support was abysmal, even by Android OEM standards.

Samsung and HTC are going along as usual.. although I feel HTC's phones might be too big. Samsung's main flagships will come later, by the looks of it.

Anyways, let's see what MWC has in store for us.

  4. What are you trying to say? You have all you need with ICS, the hardware works great with vanilla ICS. You don't need to corrupt it with that crap you have on manufacturer-modified versions. Why would I want to go to a custom ROM if I have everything I need in stock ICS which is the first to get updates without having to flash a new ROM every now and then?

Stock ICS is fantastic, but custom ROM ICS is even better. Notification widgets, modifying onscreen buttons, better lockscreen, lovely battery bar and more! :P

Not to mention, a launcher called Trebuchet, which is a mod of the stock launcher. :P

  5. Android OS: 47%

    Screen: 31%,

How do I take a screenshot of the bar graph?

Hold Volume down and Power till the animation kicks in. It doesn't happen instantly, you gotta hold it.

Also, percentage is no good, the values inside are what's important.

^@Jigsaw, Yeah, and Outsider, you cant do much besides what me and Tyler suggested. Thats a bug in ICS that google is working on.

I haven't faced any such problem, neither has one of my friends.. it seems like it's intermittent, and hard to reproduce. I'm not saying it's not there, but it doesn't affect everyone.

My standby time has been excellent, I get around 3 and half to 4 hours of screen on time before it dies. Varies between 12-20 hours, depending on usage

    Screenshots.

Completely rapes the Sensation and the Nexus S I have when it comes to consuming the least amount of battery in standby.

If you can provide the above three screenshots, it'll let us know what's happening.

It was plugged in to my laptop for transferring data, that's the charging part. Might be around 65-68 without the charge.

  6. ^I have talked to a developer of CM mods, he is working on I9100G build and is very happy with Ti chipset as it made the job simple for him.

Ah, then that is good news. Hopefully this model receives good development. The best news would be if it gets officially supported by CM! ^^

  7. Sony Ericsson explains how hard it is to update to Android 4.0 ICS

    Read more: http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_ericsson_explains_how_hard_it_is_to_update_to_android_40_ics-news-3492.php

BTW, Avkash, read the bolded part and go :wOOtjumpy:

It means squat. The only TI phone right now with stable ICS is the Galaxy Nexus. There are other popular TI phones like the Motorola ones, which will take ages to get ICS. Custom ROM development will be quicker for TI phones, but the i9100G isn't a popular model and doesn't have support like the more popular models.

Don't get excited, don't expect ICS to come fast.

  8. Today's stuff not so interesting.

Am hoping Root Explorer makes it to this sale.

Get Total Commander. Free, best File Manager, with the more capabilities than Root Explorer.

It's not on the market, since it's still in beta, but it's extremely stable. Go to their site and download the .apk.

My wishlist for apps that should make an appearance in this sale :

    ROM Manager premium

    Root explorer

    Touchdown

    Any good video player

Why would apps requiring root be put on sale, when only a small fraction of users can use them?

I hope DicePlayer agrees to participate in the sale, it's the best app for videos.
