  1. The reason is that the ui is working very poorly with the mouse. A controller isn't inherently better for this kind of game, it just feels better here because they did a sh*t job with the mouse controls. This stuff will be fixed with mods.

Yeah, I don't like the precision with the aim that I'm sacrificing, especially when using a bow. I really hope they release the mods quick, cause I would love to go back to the keyboard+mouse setup!

  2. Blame metacritic :|

Oh and btw the Oblivion style level scaling is definitely gone. You will encounter enemies far beyond your skill level early on in the game. Hell I went into a quest dungeon and got my a*s royally handled to me. This never happened in Oblivion.

    Hell yeah!

I just encountered a Giant outside Volulund or something like that, and he took me out in one hit. Sent me flying a huge distance. This was at level 10 or 11.

And, in some older places, it's become much easier to take the enemies out. I love this new scaling style, much more realistic.

Also, I read somewhere that when you enter a new dungeon, it locks to the level you're at forever. So in the future, when you have leveled up a lot, and you enter the same dungeon again, it still is at the level at which you first entered.

it gets a bit confusing actually. left click activates your right hand spell and vice versa. the 360 controller is not really a better choice with it's button reuse... it's just that the ui has not been designed well for use with a mouse.

I very much prefer the X360 controller.. it's much easier to use, especially when navigation menus. For some reason, mouse clicks don't work well in the radial system, I had to resort to WASD before switching to the controller.

  3. IMO, it's better to play with the controller than play with the Mouse+Keyboard. The menu and dial systems are very clunky when done with the mouse.

And, GOTY! What an insane game. Played it for 9 hours straight, completely lost track of time. Bloody brilliant. Oblivion could never keep me this involved.

  4. Hey guys, guys, ...HEY!

    Any thoughts on Flash? :P

Unfortunately it's still going to be advertised, since it'll still be preloaded and working on current/future devices. Maybe ahead of ICS, Flash support will stop, but for now, it's still there.

Only future development has stopped. The main victory will be when Adobe stops developing Flash for the desktop.

  5. For me, MIUI is sluggish and a huge battery drain.

I don't like the long press Home thing they've done, it's extremely irritating.

CM7 + GO Launcher EX is what I prefer, anytime.

However, MIUI's overall UX, popup menus is very good, their copy paste mechanism is one of the best I've ever seen.

Another pet peeve I have with MIUI is you can't slide away/remove individual notifications. Dunno if they've added that, since I tried it quite a while ago.

  6. It seems no one bothered to read my Google+ post about the Galaxy Nexus. :P

I don't know how MT arrived at the conclusion that the SGS2 smokes the Galaxy Nexus, there's no definitive GN benchmarks out in the wild.

Also, 720p display. That is all.

    About the PenTile display, http://www.phonearena.com/news/Samsung-Galaxy-Note-and-Galaxy-Nexus-sport-HD-Super-AMOLED---is-the-PenTile-matrix-bad-for-you_id23134

Comparisons between Galaxy Note, HTC Titan, SGS2 and iPhone 4S.

  7. The Xperia Play is a good phone. The Sony UI is very good, I've heard really good things about it. At 21.5k with free gifts it's a great choice.

More so if you game, cause that gamepad will come in really handy. Not to mention, there is excellent CM support thanks to SE collaborating with the devs.

Also, SE has promised ICS for all the good Xperia devices, like the Arc and Play.

  8. no sd card support , only 16 gb :\

    plus its really big .

I dont mind waiting for a couple of months for ICS :fear:

    There's a 32GB version as well.

You didn't read my Google+ post did you? :P

Aside from the thinness, the GN and the RAZR more or less have the same dimensions.

The 4.65" screen includes the system buttons, whereas the RAZR 4.3" does not include the system buttons. In the end, the operational size of the phones turn out to be the same.

    Also, 1280*720 screen!!! wOOtjumpy.gif

In the end, if your hearts set on the RAZR and its brilliant build quality, go ahead!

Another dealbreaker for me, as I mentioned is the non-removable battery.

  9. Ok i take back my words but still it will be smarter to wait for the Nexus price to be dropped before buying it!

NEXUS>S2 if u forget about the price.

Actually we cant say which one is really better when price is revealed!

Because i dont see intelligence in paying 10-12k more for the nexus. (unless you are very rich)

The Galaxy Nexus will cost 40-45k in the 1st week through grey imports. Just like the iPhone's abnormal pricing.

After a few weeks, the prices will drop to reasonable 30-35k. Also, if it's officially sold in India, it'll be less than 35k for sure. (I think it'll come sometime next year. Jan/Feb)

Now, I'm even more confused. :|

Let's just put it this way -- I hate stock Android. With the Nexus, I'd have to have until it's rooted, some decent custom ROM comes out for it and along with that some decent customization -- long time.

Would S2 be such a bad choice then?

Also, any idea what's the cheapest the S2 is going for right now? And where?

Huh? Customization can easily be done on stock Android, just install another launcher/dialer/lockscreen from the insane amount of options we have.

I don't know what the S2 offers more in terms of customization. It's just a different UI on the top, which if you want to customize, it's the same way as you would customize stock Android.

S2 isn't a bad choice, just that you will have to wait for your software updates. That's all. Oh, and it's a QVGA 4.21" screen.

  10. From what I've read, S2's processor is superior to that of the Nexus. Can any (knowledgeable) person confirm this?

It's possible. But the software optimization is equally important. Also, the OMAP 4460 in the Galaxy Nexus hasn't been benchmarked yet.

I wud say going for s2 will be the perfect decision.

Let me explain to you why..

    1) A normal user wont be able to differentiate between a 720p screen or a super amoled plus screen.

    2) Processor is better

    3) Much Much Cheaper..u can get an S2 for as low as 27-28k while nexus at launch will cost around 40-42k.

    4) Though the screen is smaller but 4.2" is perfect as 4.65 wud be too big to carry easily.

    5) S2 gonna get 4.0 android update too as promised by samsung though it will take some time.

So if you are one of those guys who like to flaunt a new phone go for nexus as it will be a rare phone else if you are a SMART user then just buy an S2 :)

    1) What? Are you nuts? Here, I can see a good amount of difference between a QVGA(800*480) screen and a qHD screen(960*540). The sharpness is more, the amount of content shown is much more.

The 720p screen will be absolutely wonderful, immense amount of content will be displayed. I've gone over this in the Display point of my Google+ post, as to why the 720p screen is a huge plus point. (

    )

    2) Software is equally important. And the OMAP4460 is no slouch either. It's not been benchmarked yet, so we don't know how good/bad it is.

    3) SGS2 released in May/June if I'm not wrong. Obviously it'll be cheaper. But the Nexus might cost 40-42k in grey, give it two to three weeks, it'll drop down to below 35k.

    4) The 4.65" screen also includes the system buttons. If you count the system buttons in the SGS2 as part of the screen, the SGS2's screen would go to 4.4" or 4.5". People are not realizing that in the Galaxy Nexus, the Home/Menu/system buttons are part of the screen. I've gone over this in my Google+ post as well.

    5) A lot of time. Jan 2012 is what's rumored, I'm expecting March 2012, at the max.

Usually, when you spend a lot on the phone, you don't want it to be outdated. Hardware wise it will be, but software wise it shouldn't. And that's the main advantage of the Nexus line, having the latest software at all times.

I don't care much for official releases anyways. Cyanogen/MIUI FTW!

Thanks for the suggestions guys. :)

CM/MIUI/custom ROM support of the Galaxy Nexus will also be superior. Just look at the Nexus S/Nexus One dev section, and compare it. Especially in the early days. That's cause the source code as well as the drivers needed are usually in the public the day the phone starts selling. Helps the ROM devs a lot.

So those 2 are the phones I have in mind right now, from public opinion here. Whats your opinion on this? Should I wait for these phones or any other phone in particular?

If you can wait, get the Galaxy Nexus. Don't even consider other Android phones. Trust me. ESPECIALLY if you prefer to avoid the hassles of rooting/custom ROM flashing, etc.

Patience + Cash= Nexus (Better than S2 if money no problem)

    Smart Buy otherwise S2

I find the term "Smart Buy" overrated. If you need a phone ASAP, and would prefer not to wait, get the best you can get. If you can wait, and you know that an excellent phone is just around the corner, then WAIT! As simple as this.

In the end, it all comes down to the circumstances you are in.

Wah.. "You have posted more than the allowed number of quoted blocks of text".

  11. nope , all phones except nexus series offer a non pure android experience , so expect a waiting time of atleast 4 weeks after ICS releases .

PS - motorola will take 6 weeks to do so.

4 weeks is WAY TOO optimistic. I'm looking at 3-4 months.

Gingerbread updates started rolling out in March/April, 3-4 months afterwards.

Also, ICS is a massive change, everywhere. The 6 weeks promised by Motorola is surprising, TBH. I think it'll take longer for SGS2 and the likes.
