I have a HTC Desire S.
SMS Backup and Restore for SMS, and Titanium Backup for apps and its data. (Don't backup System data, it creates problems when restoring)

GO Launcher easily wins for me, its Calendar widget is the best, you have gestures(up & down), as well as for each of the 15 icons in the dock. What seals the deal for me is the iOS like folder creation in the app drawer, and the ability to put those folders on the desktop as well.

^No bro, it doesn't. The Desire HD which is the same as this model supports all bands, not this phone.
Have you tried it in India? I find it extremely hard to believe that it does not have 2100Mhz Band. That's universal in almost all GSM phones.
My cousin has an Inspire 4G, will ask him if he tried 3G.

Dude, parking the accounts means putting it on hold indefinitely. Only some strict private sites have a time limit, in that case message a moderator/admin/support.

Personal experience:
Won an auction for an Inspire 4G on Ebay. Paid the money through a guest paypal account and changed primary mailing address to the SS account address. Paypal india account wont work as ebay will immediately show an error that item cant be shipped to your address.
Item reached their warehouse 2 days after i paid for it. From there it took 6 days to reach me in Bangalore.
Total cost involved: ~13.5k
Breakup:
Phone - brand new Inspire 4g - $280 incl shipping
Shipping and customs via SNS - 900 + 200
P.S. The Inspire 4g doesn't support the 3G band in India (2100 Mhz). I knew this so it wasn't an issue for me.
Pretty sure the Inspire 4G supports 2100Mhz. 850Mhz for AT&T, and 2100Mhz for the rest of the world. (Most of it, anyways).

I just picked up the Sensation too from Craigslist. Already S-OFF'ed it, and loaded a custom ROM. (LeeDroid). Let's see how the battery life is. The Sensation doesn't really have 4G BTW, none of the T-Mobile phones do, they all use HSPA+ only, which is basically faster 3G tech. LTE is the only true 4G tech.

Just got a HTC Sensation for $360, since my cousin dropped my Nexus S from a big height and cracked the screen. It's still completely usable, but the cosmetic damage is too much for me to tolerate..

BTW, I recently applied this script to my phone. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991276
It has done what no ROM, kernel, etc could ever do, fix multitasking and made app launches extremely fast. The difference was small at best.
But when I applied the same script on a friend's Defy, it made a huge world of difference.

I HIGHLY recommend any and all Android users to apply this script, all you need is a rooted phone, don't even need a custom ROM.

As far as P2P goes I've already put much thought into it. I haven't used any P2P application since landing in Atlanta. I use stuff like Rapidshare, Wupload and MU now and then but most of the stuff is via torrific which gets your torrents and caches them on their servers so you can get it as a HTTP download. So no P2P at all.
For music, I stick to services like grooveshark (and the grooveshark downloader
).Well, I hope you don't fall into any trouble! I mainly use private torrent sites, so torrific wouldn't help me.

Have you looked into whether there are daily or weekly limits? You better check out all the details, if you violate any of their terms, you'll be in big trouble.
Also, DO NOT P2P. Stick to MU, HF, and the likes, although even those are risky. The safest option is a seedbox, but you have to spend for that.
Just from my experience at Penn State, I too enjoyed insanely fast download speeds, but I used a seedbox all the time, as I know quite a good number of people who got into trouble due to P2P and Piracy.
