  1. From what I remember of Egwene -
  2. @North Is it just me or are they smoothing out Egwene's character in the WoT TV Show? From what I remember from the books (It's been some time since I read it) - Egwene was annoying and insufferable. She certainly was far too arrogant later down the line definitely (That I remember clearly). Her character seems more muted here.
  3. To add to this- Pokemon Sword/Shield = 21 million (as of May 2021, will be more now) (https://dotesports.com/pokemon/news/pokemon-sword-and-shield-record-over-21-million-all-time-sales) Zelda: Breath of the Wild = 24 million (As of Sep 2021, only the Switch Version) (https://www.statista.com/statistics/1248052/zelda-botw-unit-sales/) Animal Cossing New Horizons = 34.85 million (As of Sep, 2021) (https://www.statista.com/statistics/868248/top-selling-nintendo-switch-titles-worldwide/) and many more Nintendo's least selling title is - Fire Emblem Three Houses = 3.02 million (as of Nov, 2020) (https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2020/11/fire_emblem_three_houses_is_now_the_best-selling_entry_in_the_entire_series) PS/Xbox games can only dream of selling as much as Switch games. Heck, I think some Switch titles individually sell more than there are GamePass subscribers.
  4. @VelivolusDas I would not be surprised if it's true. But, how many complainants are there actually? In Activision's case - the Govt. itself actually studied it, and after researching over some years - they decided to file the case. Here, I can see only one woman. She claims to speak for all, but no one else bothered to join her in her complaint? In this case I'm not sure, if there is an actual discrimination, or she's simply filing one because she was passed over for a promotion (which can be due to incompetence/low performance as well). I'm at least happy it's not sexual misconduct that's happening. Anyway, it's sure to blow up big time in this current Activision environment. Maybe it will drive Sony out of California and back to Japan? Back to becoming the company they were in the PS2 days instead of the pseudo-movie game company they are now? Wait and watch I guess.
  5. Haven't read Black Company, but Malazan Book of the Fallen is Confusing AF. Half the time, you will not know who the main characters are, half the time - there are too many Gods, and our normal guys (So-Called MCs) are ascending to Godhood and falling from it, World is confusing too. If you like dealing with confusion, go ahead with it.
  6. Got the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento FE for 9,63,000 credits So happy!!
  7. It's beautiful because it's also a concept for a game. Imagine an open world chess game with action and the 2 kings playing against each other. It's mind-blowing simply for the concept.
  8. One of the most beautiful ads for the PS5. Hope they make an actual game out of this concept Far better than any celebrities Sony could have brought in
  9. Amazing!! Huge surprise!! @playstationdude Seems the NVidia Geforce leak of 2 months ago is coming true (At Least the SE Part)!! This means in addition we can also expect FFIX Remake, FF Tactics Remaster and KH4 announcements as well!!
  10. Rurouni Kenshin is a huge name. Ideally it should have been streamed here as well. For some reason though, they are only streaming the live action here (Netflix) and not the anime proper (licensing issues perhaps)? Also don't forget shows lost and forgotten like Initial D, School Rumble, Fantastic Children, Gunslinger Girl, Emma: A Victorian Romance, Saber Marionette etc. Animax was such a gem and had so many shows, that all other streaming services combined could not top it. I don't think I saw any other streaming service so open to broadcast all titles including the non-hit, small time, indie and experimental ones. Every time you opened that channel - you saw something new, that would blow your mind away.
  11. They do - provided it's a very huge name. That's why you have Cowboy bebop, Trigun, Fullmetal Alchemist (Old One) etc. on Netflix. But many titles that Animax showed, were the more obscure ones. The anime you mentioned (Ninku, Hungry Hearts), along with others like Daigunder, Ex Driver, Detective School Q, Get Backers, Wolf's Rain, Flame of Recca etc. were obscure (despite being excellent). So you have to go to *ahem* sites for them.
  12. *ahem* site which I'm looking at has both. Don't know if it's dub or sub yet (didn't check). Though Animax Dub will generally not be available (Animax did special English dubs only for India and rest of SE Asia like Singapore - these dubs were different than the English dubs US and EU got, with different VAs and all). Generally *ahem* sites keep the US/EU English versions, so the Animax english version you saw in childhood is lost I'm afraid (Unless YT has some 1-2 minute dub comparison clips here and there)
  13. *ahem* sites have them. Don't know any legal service that has them unfortunately. Great thing about *ahem* site, they preserve so many classics, that legal sites don't even bother with. Recently watched ex-Drivers (Old show that used to come on animax). Almost all shows are only reserved on *ahem* sites. One time those sites actually help in preservation.
  14. Frankly Series S is over-priced here IMO. 35k for a 1080p console in 2021 is far too much. Best is to get either PS5 + XSX or PS5 + PC (If you already have PC that is; don't get the over-priced 30xx cards for now - unless you get it from rptech). Gamepass for PC is good too.
  15. Congratz!! Beautiful controller!! It is quite bold of you to assume you will get a GoW LE PS5 here though. People are not able to source normal consoles here (PS5 or XSX), forget LEs.
  16. Or Kojima is simply dipping his feet in Hollywood, and has no relation to MGS/Silent Hill/Zone of Enders or any other Konami property. Kojima has always been an America fan (Reverse of typical otakus). It was only a matter of time before he dipped his feet in Hollywood. Especially since he made contacts with established actors like Norman Reedus and established directors like Guillermo Del Toro. I doubt anyone is pushing him to go to Hollywood.
  17. I've experienced VR only at fests. Don't own VR systems yet, but I've tried it (Far too expensive for me to purchase). From what I've experienced, It's great. Mind-blowing even. But IMO it's just not complete yet. At this point, it cannot replace conventional gaming, nor does it add to conventional gaming (Like 3d or RTX does) IMO. It's fun, but I will not be ready to play for hours on end like I can do for conventional gaming. The VR I'm thinking, it will replace conventional gaming altogether.
  18. True VR is still very, very far away. We are still playing around with nauseating images too close to our eyes (Many times with sub-par resolutions on top). Once true VR actually arrives - believe me, it will be such a huge jump, it will make all of these "eras" seem small time. Like the difference between slingshot and modern jet fighter warfare. By true VR, I mean something like .hack or Sword Art Online. It will literally create entire worlds that will engage all of our senses at the same time, just like Real Life does.
  19. Reducing manual input might be great for devs - but how much benefit does it realistically bring to customers? Remember, we are comparing to jumps of 2D/3D etc. 1) Text Based to 2D - From Choose Your Own Adventure style texts to actually having something on screen. Something that looks like a proper game. Clear benefit to customers. 2) 2D to 3D - Characters were fully fleshed out. They started looking more human. They were no longer drawings on canvas but actual people, cities, worlds etc. You could look at everything from all sides. 360° views were possible. As resolutions increased, games started to look more and more realistic in 3D. Clear benefit to customers. 3) 3D to RTX - Allows for better lighting in reflective surfaces. Useful only in certain areas and mostly in night time. That too only in games that are primarily set in cities. That too mainly only modern or futuristic cities. In medieval games, it will only show as reflections in puddles at night. But it will allow devs to easily put in lighting automatically. From a customer POV, why is this considered the next major era? Yup, VR can be the next era. But it needs massive leaps forward. First it needs to solve the nausea issue completely. Then get players acclimatized. Solve the resolution issues. When VR reaches the point of Sword Art Online or .hack, then it will definitely be the pinnacle of gaming. But i also have to wonder, how many anti-addiction laws will have to be passed. Since at that time, it will engage all the customer's senses directly.
  20. Pretty much a sad excuse for a supposedly so-called new "era". The difference from text-based to 2D was mind-blowing. The difference from 2d to 3d was also similarly huge. The difference from 3d to "RTX" is "Meh! OK!" Frankly, what does RTX even bring? Better reflections in some areas? Some cities look better? Heck, even where RTX can be a go-to technology, they are unable to make a proper game out of it (Cyberpunk). More than half the games skip RTX altogether. Nah, calling RTX the next era is pretty much over-hyping it. It's just a new tech they brought so they can over-charge customers for cards.
  21. Pretty much! Either that or he wants to retire (if/when he gets bored or old). Even with that there is a chance he will just appoint a puppet, and still try to control things.
  22. Technically, even this is not an open world game. There is an open city - yes. But not much you can do in the city. I personally felt the city was just there to give you something to drive towards. Sleeping Dogs/GTA/Yakuza (Pinnacles of city exploration) - this is not. Just an excuse to drive towards and do main story.
  23. A lot of people. It's one of the most popular and mainstream anime out there. Heck, some people (like me) were so interested, we even finished the manga (where the story is complete)
  24. I'm not including LOTR and any of the JRR Tolkien-verse in this (That's like the Bible of fantasy), but the major series I can recommend are (IMO) - 1) Wheel of Time I highly urge you to read the books. The books are a classic series in themselves, and the show is taking far too many liberties with the source material. At this point, there are very high chances that the show will butcher the story. This always happens when show runners think they know better than the actual authors (I'm scared for LOTR now ). Heck, they actually cut out the actual opening of the books and the series. The opening of the Wheel of Time was epic. It sets the tone for the entire series, shows the madness of the Dragon, introduces The Shadow and the Forsaken, the previous breaking of the World (in the last cycle). All of that was cut out for a 5 second exposition by Moiraine in the show - which went by so fast that no one who is new to the series will be able to make heads or tails of it. It's also going to be a long, long time before you ever get the proper story. The entire 1st season of the show will only adopt the 1st book (With major cuts and super abridged). Even if it was un-abridged, the story hardly even begins in the first book. There is a very long way to go. This is how much you need to read for the full story (14 books + 2 side books/companions) - 2) The Earthsea Cycle This is another major series you should not miss if you are a fantasy fan. These are classics and the story is just awesome. Definitely look up on these and try it Amazon's fully illustrated all-in-one edition 3) The Belgariad and the Malloreon These are the names of series of 5 books each, but luckily now they packaged multiple books in 1 edition. So you can read both series (10 books) in just 4. Both series are sequels to each other, so you should read Belgarion first, and then the Malloreon. The stories are excellent, and will have you laughing and enjoying it immensely. 4) The Riftwar Cycle Another absolutely amazing series. This is also a must-read for any fantasy fans. It has an amazing world-building, and the characterization and overall story is epic as well. Highly recommended. Do note that we call the entire World The Riftwar Cycle. It's different from The Riftwar Saga (Which covers the first 3 books). There are multiple sagas in the story, but you should start with The Riftwar Saga (Magician: Apprentice/Magician: Master/Silverthorn/A Darkness At Sethanon) Just to give an idea of how many there are But all of those are successor series in the World of Riftwar. The story itself starts from the Riftwar Saga, whose 4 books images I posted above. In some editions, they divide the first books into 2 (Magician into Magician: Apprentice and Magician: Master. This is because the first book is big, and the size of the story fits 2 books) This should be enough for now I guess.
  25. If you are looking at only Sanderson's books, I would first suggest reading Elantris and Warbreaker. They are both stand-alone books (entire story in 1 book), and it will be a break to read a small, complete story before going into a new trilogy (and more) that is Mistborn. Both are also a part of Sanderson's Cosmere (along with Mistborn), so at some point - all stories are going to converge, either in the Stormlight Archive or in a completely new series (Odium of Stormlight is one of the main villains of the entire cosmere).
